5.29.6 While our website may be called binnall of america, we know and strive to point out that the esoteric is a world wide phenomenon. So, this month in Viral Esoterica, we go international, baby !
We've got 5 clips, covering 5 countries, 3 continents, and various forms of the esoteric. First we've got the hilarious, for so many reasons, Portuguese Ghostbusters. Following that, take a gander at Crop Circle Debate from Australian morning TV. Ever wonder what Noory would be like in Scotland ? Wonder no more, with a clip from a Scottish Esoteric Talk Show. Be sure to stick around for the ultra freaky Malaysian Ghost Tour commercial. And we wrap it all up with a trailer for the first ever Hong Kong UFO Documentary.
It's Viral Esoterica, BoA's monthly scouring of the world wide web in search of esoteric video goodies and it starts ... right now.
Portuguese Ghostbusters
After much consideration and debate, I've finally decided that Drika and her friend, whose name I can't quite make out, are doing an homage to the Ghostbusters film. For a while, I wasn't sure if they were serious or not, but it seems to be a joke (I hope).
I'm not sure what is going on in Portugal, but they really must have better things to do than make parodies of films from 1984. Drika ... stop pointing at me !
Australian Crop Circle Debate
Eat your heart out, Matt Lauer. At least our Aussie counterparts get their esoterica served to them with breakfast. Witness this debate between Janet Ossebaard, Crop Circle researcher, and Richard Saunders, of Australian skeptics, from Australia TV's "Sunrise" programme.
Sadly, Ossebaard really doesn't bring much in the way of goods, insisting that "the only sane conclusion that one can draw is that they're made by a non-human intelligence". Way to go totally overboard there, Janet. There is some cool "light forms" footage featured here that I'd not seen before. And ... then Janet starts talking about "hidden messages" and pushes me away once again.
Richard Saunders is sufficiently obnoxious and repugnant, showing that skeptics are ass clowns no matter what country they come from. Way to be, Richard.
The debate boils down to Saunders going for the easiest argument and citing hoaxers and Janet insisting that he's not done his homework. And we are all dumber as a result.
Scottish Paranormal Talk Show
This is really a clip of a radio show, played over stills from the folks who are on the radio show, but how can I pass up a guy that kind of looks like Patton Oswalt, if he were a Scottish esoteric researcher ?
Next time you lament having to listen to George Noory five times a week, remember this clip and thank your lucky stars. At least we've not been subjected to an extended episode of C2C dealing with ghosts grabbing asses.
Malaysian Ghost Tour Commercial
What are you doing June 13th ? Nothing ? Me neither. Maybe we should head down to Malaysia for a ghost tour. Meet me at 1 Kubur 13MEI. I'll be the dude scared crapless.
Seriously, though, this clip scares me more than anything featured this week. I'm not sure if it is the sheer believability of the folks interviewed or the freaky music or the fact that it is all shot at night and barely lit, but I am spooked for sure. That said, esoteric Malaysian ghost hunter "Sis", shown at the end of the clip, has already claimed the award for "Sexiest Malaysian Esoteric Researcher". Congrats, Sis.
Hong Kong UFO Documentary Trailer
I'm not quite sure what it is, but I've got a fetish for foreign Ufology. This short clip for the first ever Hong Kong documentary on UFOs is just amazing on a number of levels.
Easily the coolest clip of the month here on Viral Esoterica, it again features foreign folks talking about the esoteric that many in America think is all their own. It also features some pretty cool Hong Kong UFO footage that many have probably not seen before, which is always a bonus.
As if that's not enough, this film also conforms to what seems to now be an international esoteric axiom : If you are making a UFO documentary, you must include Stanton Friedman. Yes, folks, Friedman makes a brief appearance in the trailer for this Hong Kong UFO Documentary. Is there anything the man cannot do ?

That does it for this month's Viral Esoterica. I hope you enjoyed your trip around the world in search of esoteric treats.
It's probably best to keep this as a monthly feature here @ BoA, so we'll see you in June with more esoteric videos from around the web.
