It's been far too long since we unleashed a new column here @ binnallofamerica.com, so it is time for just that. As usual, BoA has our finger on the pulse of humanity and we've noticed the odd little explosion in popularity of internet films. Not just your artsy fartsy miniflicks, but odd little news clips and what-have-you that have somehow been loaded onto the internet and are readily available. Those in the know call them "viral videos".

And while BoA appreciates film of monkeys throwing poop at zookeepers and people getting hit in the crotch with just about anything, we know that our mission is to bring you the finest in esoteric madness. Therefore, we give you ... Viral Esoterica.

Henceforth, twice a month (or so) on Mondays, BoA will bring you a handful of outrageous esoteric short clips that we've culled from the internet. I'll throw in my 2 cents on them as well. Some of them you've surely seen before. Some you probably haven't. So, you'll either discover something new or relive a great esoteric moment, like our first clip.

Buzz Aldrin Throws Down

That wild little bastard shouting at Buzz Aldrin, 2nd man to walk on the moon, is Moon Hoax enthusiast Bart Sibrel, perhaps the most obnoxious man in esoterica. This clip earned him his 15 minutes of fame around 2002 when he accosted Aldrin and demanded answers regarding the Moon Hoax. Buzz popped him one, earning the love and respect of all in esoterica for doing what needed to be done.

Perhaps only funnier than Sibrel getting smacked is the lady who somehow gets caught in the middle of the fight. She seems like she just wants to get out of there before she ends up smacking Sibrel as well.

This is what the news must be like on Mars ...

Yes, the wily Chupacabra. You gotta love the blood sucking beastie. Even better was the outstanding pronounciation of "Chupacabra". She needs to be on Coast to Coast as their Chupa correspondent.

Meanwhile, that looked like one sick dog. I can't imagine it having the strength to walk, much less attack something and suck out its blood.

The infamous, fake, Alien Autopsy

At the beginning of the month, the esoteric world was rocked with waves of "I told you so" from parties within and outside of the world of the paranormal, as news filtered out of the UK that Alien Autopsy guy Ray Santilli had finally confessed to faking the infamous film of a "dead alien from Roswell" that captured a mainstream buzz in the 1990's. More info on this unfolding scandal can be found @ UFOWatchdog.com.

Meanwhile, many like myself were lucky, or unlucky, enough to have never seen the Alien Autopsy film during its original run as esoteric story du jour. Thanks to video sharing sites like youtube, the wait is over. Here, in all its hokey glory, is the Alien Autopsy that had many folks swearing on its authenticiy barely a decade ago. And we wonder why esoterica gets no respect.

The clip is about 16 minutes long, so you may want to be patient while loading it.

Ghost in Car Ad ?

I was actually surprised by this clip and I'm sure you will be too. Here's the description of the clip via the poster @ youtube.com "Strange but interesting. This is a car advertisement from Great Britain. When they finished filming the ad, the film editor noticed something moving along the side of the car, like a ghostly white mist. They found out that a person had been killed a year earlier in that exact same spot. The ad was never put on TV because of the unexplained ghostly phenomenon."

You be the judge.

NASA films UFOs

The one thing I've noticed is that there is a plethora of UFO films available online. But, much like sightings reports themselves, once you've seen a few of them, you are rather blase about the rest. Nonetheless, this one stuck out as fairly interesting.

The only downside to it is that it appears to be three different films spliced into a 9 second clip. That said, there are some compelling UFOs on the film. I'm sure some debunker has a reason for what was filmed, but I found it entertaining anyway.

And thus concludes the debut edition of "Viral Esoterica". We'll be back in May with more esoteric video from around the web.
