the binnall report : 9.9.5

Zero hour nears, my friends. After weeks and weeks and weeks of hype and work, binnall of america : audio, Season One will finally make have it's Season Premiere at around this time tomorrow, if not sooner. Full in-depth preview of Part 1 of the Jim Marrs Season Premiere is available in the BoA Audio section of this very column.

All that aside, there is another reason to be psyched ... Red Sox v. Yankees. Less than 2 hours away. The city of Boston is in full on battle mode and you can't go anywhere without hearing the word "Yankees" attached to some expletive. If you are not from this part of the country, you cannot fathom how huge this weekend (and the other Sox v. Yankees series later this month) is. It's weekends like this that made me a baseball fan in the first place.

That said, I am also an esoterica fan and, point of fact, a Coast to Coast fan. And, I believe, so are you. So, let's get down to the business at hand, which is delving into the world of C2C ...

The Week That Was

We left off last week with the impending return of Linda Moulton Howe to talk about crop circles. For some awful reason, she didn't appear till the second hour of the show and I managed to miss it. I think I did hear Hoagland at some point as well. Rather bleh episode, with the majority spent on, what else, Open Lines.

Saturday Night Punnett was all about oil, peak oil that is. Matt Savinar was the guest. Most people were talking about crazy ass Hoagland showing up in the bottom of the first hour and then horning his way into the final hour. For those of you keeping score, Hoagland hasn't been on since, suggesting perhaps he finally overstepped his boundaries. Or, he'll be on 1000 times again next week. I didn't catch much of Savinar for some reason. I think because he annoys me.

Speaking of annoy, Noory had the gaul to trot out Peter Lance to rant and rave again on Sunday. I won't lie, I totally skipped this episode in favor of reading the phone book and licking paper, both infinitely more entertaining things than listening to Lance tell everyone in the listening audience that they are wrong and he is right and there are no ifs, ands, or buts about it.

I finally settled back into the groove with The Noor on Monday when he welcomed Gordon Michael Scallion to the show to talk about future prophecies. Despite many people ripping on Scallion like he was the second coming of Ed Dames, I found him mildly entertaining. Particularly amusing was his story of how he ended up with his mystical powers, including how he kept getting shuttled about to various doctors and shrinks. Not particularly worthwhile episode, but good entertainment, which counts for a lot nowadays.

Tuesday was probably the best episode of the week, as expected, with Jon Ronson to talk about some weird military mind experiments, his trip to Bohemian Grove, Alex Jones, and general conspiracy theory. The Noor even was nice enough to reunite AJ and Ronson, who were cordial, despite my fears and hopes that there would be an esoteric slapfight. Ronson had an awed, yet grounded, look at the world of esoterica, a nice change of pace from the usual wide-eyed, sky-is-falling, C2C guests.

Wednesday was pretty decent, as Noory welcomed Mark Pinkham to talk about Rosslyn Chapel and Templars. Ever since Da Vinci Code became big, we've been subjected to episodes like this over-and-over again and rarely to they bear any new fruit, mostly the usual stuff we've heard time and time again.

That complaint aside, I did like some of Pinkham's stuff, including what he brought to the table regarding Rosslyn Chapel and also his discussion of martial arts and how they work in tandem with religion. Also hilarious was Noory's butchering of the concept of the skulls with holes where horns would be.

I caught parts of Sylvia Browne on Thursday. For the most part, it was a pretty good episode. I enjoyed some of Noory's off kilter questions, including hassling her about her voice, trying to get her to talk to Evelyn Paglini, and asking how Montel was doing. I could have lived without the morbid moment when he had her try and located Dr. Morgus. Pretty good for a Sylvia Browne episode.

The Week That Is

Egads ! Noory is taking the night off and in his place, sure to confuse the entire C2C fanbase, is an Open Lines episode from 7.29.2005. Ugh, C2C grabs a rebroadcast from within the 90 day archive again, one of my pet peeves for certain. Anyway, in this episode, NASA had just discovered a 10th planet and The Noor brought Phil Plait one 1st half hour and then RCH for the 2nd half hour. Noor crapped on Plait for getting the 10th planet wrong and then Hoagland took some pot shots at Plait during his appearance. Noteworthy for that, if nothing else.

Talk about a waste, C2C brings in the legendary Red Elk to discuss Native American prophecy with Ian Punnett. This really should be saved for Art Bell or Noory, as I fear Punnett may not get the most out of Elk. A must catch episode, irregardless of the host. This may finally net Punnett his Coastie contender for 2005.

Digging deep into the vault, C2C reruns the 1.11.2004 episode of Coast hosted by Art Bell with guest Richard Boylan, talking about Star Children on Sunday. I don't really recall this episode very well. Star Children episodes are pretty hit-or-miss, but this may be one of the better ones.

Monday, The Noor returns with Dr. John Alexander to talk about non-lethal weaponry. He'll also be talking about the much-vaunted 1st Earth Battalion that Jon Ronson was talking about last week. So it looks like a good follow-up to that intriguing topic. Should be good.

Tuesday, we'll hear from Joel Garreau to talk about the next step in human evolution : robotics. A good episode for those fascinated by the advancements in technology and how it impacts the human race. I'm not a huge robotics fan, but if Garreau has some charisma, he may be able to pull it up to decent in my eyes.

Wednesday looks to be a doozy, with Dr. Barry Warmkessel to talk about alien influence on Earth and something called a "Dark Star companion to the Sun". Looks like an over-the-top edition of Coast, full of shadowy rumour and innuendo. Count me in.

Thursday looks like a killer episode (pun intended), as Noory welcomes Trevor Marriot to talk about Jack the Ripper. Should be good, as this is a story that hasn't been overdone on Coast and true crime C2C episodes are usually better than average.

Friday, Open Lines. 1st Hour Pop In.

binnall of america : audio, Season One

The time has arrived ! At some point on Saturday, binnallofamerica.com will kick off BoA : Audio, Season One. If I were a betting man, the audio will be up around prime time tomorrow night, but it may show up earlier, I'm not sure yet. And now ... the preview :

This Week : It's the Season Premiere of binnall of america : Audio, Season One, with esteemed esoteric journalist Jim Marrs. Jim Marrs is the author of the classics "Crossfire, "Alien Agenda", "Rule by Secrecy", and a host of other fantastic books. He is knowledgeable and can speak eloquently on just about the entire gamut of esoteric topics.

In the first installment, we discuss the JFK assassination, the overall agenda behind it, various other theories re: the assassination and what purpose they ultimately serve, Jim's role in making the Oliver Stone JFK movie, the JFK - UFO connection, the evolution of Ufology, what is the "alien agenda" and what it probably isn't, Disclosure, NASA, a possible covert space program, Secret Societies, the pyramid power structure and how it works, how many people are at the top of the pyramid and who they might be, examples of the pyramid in action with the media and much much more. And that's just Part 1.

Next Week : Part 2 of the Jim Marrs Season Premiere where we discuss Remote Viewing and 911.

So there you have it. We'll have the audio up and running sometime tomorrow evening, including both MP3 download and Streaming Audio for those who want to listen at their computer without downloading. As always, feedback from listeners is appreciated.

The new era in esoteric radio begins in a few short hours. You've been warned.

Letter # 1 :

Tim,

I'm confused. What's the difference between your "X conference sessions" and this new audio ?

Dennis in New York

I'm glad you asked, Dennis. I really should have explained this better at some point and now is probably the time to do it. The main difference between the two series is that one was recorded in-person (X-Conference Sessions) and the other was recorded via phone (Season One). In essence, Season One was the original vision we had for BoA : Audio and the X-Conference sessions were the path we took to get there.

The difference in quality of content should be quite noticeable. Without the problem of managing the equipment in-person and with more pre-planning allowed for interviews, we were able to really dig into the interview and provide some serious esoteric discussion. I expect that we will have future on-site interviews, but those will always be under the banner of "Sessions" and not "Seasons" as they are two distinct different styles.

Letter # 2 :

binnal,

Are you going to be writing any more articles for After Dark ?

Randy in Seattle, Washington

Good question, Randy. I'm sure there will be a few more articles forthcoming once things settle down at BoA HQ. We attempted to put something together over the Summer, but the stars were not with us. That particular story may get written this Autumn, so we'll see about that one.

Thankfully, due to the many folks I've talked to the past 6 weeks, a ton of new story ideas and possibilities have sprung forth. If they do not appear in "After Dark", then they will appear somewhere.

This Week in C2C History

9.9.2003 : Just in time for the 2 year anniversary of 911, The Noor welcomed Douglas Hagmann and Steve Quayle to sound the terror alarm. Apparently, the terrorists missed this episode. Included amongst the warnings were : "The possibilities for suicide bombings, and biological and chemical attacks happening within the US in the next year, are around 80%, he said. Even more alarming, Hagmann suggested the likelihood for a "dirty bomb" to be exploded here was 70-80% in the same time frame. " (c2c main site)

9.9.1998 : The big news at the time was Bill Clinton's big scandal and Art covered it as only he can : "Art says Clinton has had a bad day. He has been apologizing all over the place. Meanwhile, Starr sent his report to Congress. Art says this is big news, but not really. Art says this was seen as a "the best defense is an offense". Clinton's lawyer right away said there is no basis for impeachment without even seeing the report. Art says this was a ridiculous statement, like the old time compression excuse concerning Roswell." Meanwhile, it looks like Art was about to get some mainstream pub ... "Due to this development with Starr, Art's appearance on the Today Show will be postponed til next week." (both from artbell.com cd rom)

9.9.1997 : One of the unfolding sagas of 1997 on C2C was the second near death of beloved C2C guest Dannion Brinkley. Poor Dannion suffered a brain aneurism and was almost gone. Bell put out a call to the C2C audience and they did one of those mass mind moments and Dannion managed to live. The story culminated 8 years ago today ... "Dannion called Art today and it looks like he is going to make it. All three aneurisms have ceased bleeding, though the clots are still there but dissolving. He is expected to remain in the hospital another week. Miracle? Dannion and Art want to thank everyone for their prayers. Dannion said he could feel the prayers, there was a blue aura all around him. " (artbell.com cd rom)

End Notes

Oh well, I'm off to watch the baseball game and then to put the final touches on the Season Premiere of BoA : Audio, Season One. I sincerely hope all the folks out there who read "tbr" will give it a listen and add it to their weekly does of esoteric radio.

Plugs : Tomorrow, of course, BoA : Audio, Season One ... Jim Marrs (Part 1 of 2). Sunday, SNP and smoker dave. Monday, News Watch. Hope you all have a great weekend. The leaves are due to start changing color soon, always a lovely annual ritual. Followed by the annual annoyance of raking, bagging, and disposing of said lovely leaves. Ah, Mother Nature, you are a cruel mistress. Till next time, my friends, be well.
