Ah, tad later than usual this week, it's the binnall report. I was going to enjoy a nice Red Sox game tonight, but, alas, it has been delayed for the past hour or so and looks like it ain't gonna happen. Ugh. Luckily, it has not kept me distracted from getting down to business at hand ... the binnall report.
Wanna thank everyone who checked out last week's BoA : Audio, Season One premiere with Jim Marrs. Check out our preview of this week's episode, plus info on streaming audio, and a preview of next week's Marshall Klarfeld episode.
But before you do all that, let's put C2C through the wringer and then look ahead to what they have to offer for next week ...
The Week That Was
Last week, we left off with The Noor taking a rare day off and rolling out a replay from only 6 weeks earlier, a Phil Plait / Richard Hoagland appearance along with Open Lines, from 7.29.5. Since I've already got this one on MP3, I didn't bother to go out of my way to catch it again. Here's the recap from the 8.5.5 binnall report :
We left off last Friday with the news of yet another 10th planet discovered and The Noor was all over it. He started out with a 1st half hour pop in from "Bad Astronomer" Phil Plait. Ugh. Noory scored huge points with me by calling Plait out on being wrong about there possibly being another planet past Pluto. Plait did his best to backpedal and side step this with a bevy of excuses. He went on to pontificate about what it meant. If he got it wrong in the first place, what business does he have commenting on it now ? Sheesh.
In a blatant attempt to stir trouble, C2C immediately had Plait's nemesis Richard C. Hoagland on to talk about the new Planet X. Hoagland, of course, was all over the map as usual. What he said is really unimportant, what is important is that it was the 4th consecutive Hoagland appearance on Coast that week, easily setting some benchmark for Coast appearances. This story will get stranger as we get to recapping the rest of the week.
Standard Open Lines followed all that. Saturday, Ian Punnett welcomed Red Elk to the show to talk about prophecy. Sadly, I was very busy with other things, so I missed much of Mr.Elk's appearance. For what it is worth, this episode drew rave reviews and I'll probably listen to it tonight instead of another dose of Open Lines.
Before Elk came on, Ian commemorated the anniversary of 911 with his very own poem. And while I can appreciate his Maya Angelou side, "A Soldier Died Today" this was not. Uncomfortably long, I didn't quite know this was a poem till halfway through. At first, I thought he was just rambling. At this point, Noory still has no serious competition to "Poet laureate of Coast".
Sunday was yet another replay, Art Bell with Richard Boylan talking about alien hybrids and such, from 1.11.2004. From what I heard it was a good episode. I downloaded the MP3 for when I need a Bell fix.
When The Noor returned for Monday's episode, little did he probably know that he was about to embark on one of the more uncomfortable moments on the show in quite some time. His guest, John Alexander, was on to talk about non-lethal weaponry. It also just so happened that he was also loosely affiliated with the 1st Earth battalion, a controversial group that Jon Ronson was gushing about less than a week earlier on the show.
And therein was problem. When Noory asked Alexander to talk about the 1st Earth battalion, he pretty much called Jon Ronson a liar and asserted that he made up a lot of the stuff in his book. Wha ? Noory seemed dumbfounded at this, but he kept probing and Alexander kept pointing out stuff Ronson lied or was mistaken about, including claiming to have talked to dudes who have never met him. Noory sounded chagrined at Ronson, but also bewildered at the turn of events.
Tuesday, Noory had Joel Garreau on the show to talk about human evolution. Despite my fear and my initial post show thoughts, this was a pretty good episode. Garreau seemed to look at it from a sociological angle which was refreshing. I enjoyed his discussion on the emerging dilemma for the "have and have nots" situation regarding genetic altering. His stuff about engineering soldiers to not need food or sleep was bizarre as well. Good episode.
Dr. Barry Warmkessel was the guest on Wednesday, talking about the alien influence and the Sun's dark companion Vulcan. I was a tad disappointed as I thought Warmkessel would be ultra far out, he was actually fairly grounded, despite his off-the-wall topic. I'm sure my friend Marshall Klarfeld either would have or did enjoy this episode, as the alien influence portion of the interview was similar to his stuff.
Thursday was perhaps my personal favorite of the week, with Trevor Marriott on the show to talk about Jack the Ripper. First of all, jeers to Noory for not asking an ultra rare fastblasted binnall question : "What about the theories that the Ripper murders were part of a Masonic ritual ?" Boo to you, Noory, boo.
Meanwhile, Marriott was good all around with some interesting tid bits on the Ripper, a topic underdiscussed on Coast. A part of me couldn't help but laugh at all the talk of prostitutes and seamen. Noory was amusing during those exchanges as well, sounding like someone looking for advice on how to pick up a prostitute. Noory, you cheeky bastard. Better than good episode, a "lighter" topic than usual on Coast.
Of note for this past week was that Richard C. Hoagland was no where to be found, marking 12 days with no Hoagland.
The Week That Is
TWTI begins with The Noor having double shot of pop-ins. First it will be Loren Coleman talking about Loch Ness "flesh samples". Sounds interesting. Following Coleman, will be next week's BoA : Audio guest Marshall Klarfeld to talk about genetic engineering and space travel. Way to go, Marshall. Give em hell. Open Lines will follow.
Saturday Night Punnett features Ian Punnett talking to Dr. Simeon Hein to talk about Crop Circles. Sounds interesting. I've been trying to give Ian more of my ear, so I will try and catch this episode. With an episode like this, a lot depends on if Hein brings anything new to the table and if he has any charisma.
Sunday night, Art Bell returns so soon with Brendan Cook & Barbara McBeath. The GIS was bumped late last month when Hurricane Katrina was about to hit land. EVP fans will have their patience rewarded with these two guests making their long awaited return.
What should be just as interesting is Art's reaction the Hurricane Katrina. I smell a Whitley Strieber first hour pop in and hope it happens. This is a massive story and I can't wait to hear Bell's thoughts on it.
Monday, the Noor is all about prophecies with John Hogue. I'll be the first to admit, I am no Hogue fan. The man just irks me. Plus, he looks rather creepy. Noory seems to like him, so it could be good.
Tuesday is billed only as "TBA". I've no clue who this may be. All speculation may be off when you see Thursday's episode.
But before that, it's Will Henry to talk about Atlantis on Wednesday. Henry is fast becoming a C2C staple. He's decent and most either like him or loathe him.
Noory continues to live up to the title of the Innovator of Esoterica with an odd episode on Thursday that may be historic or a train wreck. It's "An Evening of Commentary". Sounds like a revolving door episode with no solid topic. This could go either way and a lot depends on how it is set up. I expect Richard Hoagland and Alex Jones to be on the guest list, but we'll see who gets the invite to Noory's Block Party.
Friday, Open Lines is where it's at. Pop in is expected.
binnall of america : audio, Season One
Big thanks to everyone who checked out last week's Season Premiere of BoA : Audio, Season One with special guest Jim Marrs. After a small setback with problems with the audio host, we hope to have a "streaming" type style of listening coming this weekend. As with last week, expect this week's episode to be available around primetime Eastern Time (8 pm)
This Week : Jim Marrs (Part 2 of 2). We discuss Remote Viewing, how it has evolved since emerging from the shadows and what is the craziest thing he's seen in his research into Remote Viewing. Then we take our discussion to 911 and the overall War on Terror. I get Jim's thoughts on the potential of a Nuke Attack in America and what might happen afterwards. Some of this is considerably prescient considering what we saw with Hurricane Katrina only a few weeks after the interview.
I also picked his brain regarding 2012 and his ill fated appearance on the Penn and Teller esoteric debunking show. Lots of great stuff, a lot of which I'm sure you've not heard anywhere else.
Next Week : Marshall Klarfeld, author of "Adam : The Missing Link". We talk Ancient Astronauts, Sumerians, Sitchen, Religion, and the ET phenomenon. His website is : www.adamthemissinglink.com
Letter # 1 :
binnal,
How many interviews are going to be a part of your audio series ?
Greg in Cambridge, MA The plan for BoA : Audio, Season One is for 13 total interviews. The total number of hours of interview time will range somewhere past 20 hours at least. We expect it to run till December and maybe into the first few months of 2006.
Letter # 2 :
Does Ian Punnett read Saturday Night Punnett ?
Chris in Richmond, Virginia
We've been debating this, somewhat, over @ theusofe.com. Right now, I am of the opinion that it is "no", only because he seems like the type to make a sly joke about it, perhaps referencing the title "Saturday Night Punnett". Despite the plethora of correspondence he claims to get from various people named "Tim", I am not in contact with IP.

This Week in C2C History
9.16.2004 : At the time, I scoffed at hearing from Dr. Fred Bell who looked to be rather blase. Somehow, The Noor managed to scratch beneath the surface and get some good insider dirt regarding his time working with the government, including this juicy tidbit : "Delving into some of his past projects, Bell mentioned his involvement with "Project Awareness" which he explained was geared towards ET disclosure. Related to this project, he said that Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus had spent $10 million putting together an ET exhibit featuring an alien corpse and crashed disc artifacts that was to tour the country in a special train in 1992, but that the Pentagon pulled the plug at the last minute. " (C2C main site)
9.16.2003 : George Noory announced that Art Bell was returning to host weekends on Coast. Also, The Noor had Jeffrey M. Smith on to talk about GM foods, including this humorous quip from Smith, "Normally you wouldn't expect a fish to mate with a tomato." (C2C Main Site)
9.16.1999 : Art Bell interviewed Steven Greer, including this interesting 4th hour : "Steven describes an orb he witnessed fly into the bay window of a room he occupied and a being emerge from it. Later in the hour, Steven ponders about the unity of technology and spirituality. Art and Steven talk about Clinton's question about UFOs when he first entered office." (artbell.com cd rom)
End Notes
The rain continues to come down here in Boston as the Red Sox rain delay programming slowly puts me to sleep. Fall is crawling its way to us as I type this and I'm not quite sure yet if that is a good thing or not.
Plugs : Tomorrow, prime time, BoA : Audio, Season One continues with Part 2 of the Jim Marrs Season Premiere. Remote Viewing, 911, and random esoterica. Sunday, Saturday Night Punnett and smoker dave. Monday, News Watch. Tuesday, Lesley's "Grey Matters". Wednesday, ghost files. Thursday, Hot Newz. Friday, we do it all again with the binnall report. www.binnallofamerica.com : The Esoteric Observer.
Until we meet again folks, I'm outta here. Have a fine weekend as time keeps on slipping, slipping, slipping into the future.
