Hello out there, my friends, this is Tim Binnall of binnallofamerica.com with another edition of the binnall report. We are coming at you on a lovely, but hot, day here in Boston. Luckily, I am sequestered in the BoA HQ bunker with our mascot Wiggins and avoiding the stifling outside weather.
This week in the binnall report, we look back at another Coast to Coast return for Art Bell and an outstanding Linda Moulton Howe full show appearance. We look ahead to Richard C. Hoagland making a rare full show appearance that should be a gem. I preview the changes coming to BoA tomorrow. We dip into the mailbag for correspondence from real binnall report readers and take a look back at classic C2C moments from this date, including the time Hoagland met Walter Koenig. Plus, we take a gander at the original C2C Sci Fi Channel talk show in Hot Newz.
Come on in, the water is fine.
The Week That Was
As is the custom here, we left off last week when Noory was about to ease into the weekend with Friday into Saturday Open Lines. The pop-in was Ed Okonowicz, talking about "possessed possessions" (i.e. everyday objects that are possessed by evil spirits). I scoffed at this one, but the stories were rather bizarre or amusing, so I was pleasantly surprised by Okonowicz. I'm not sure if the topic has enough legs to be a full show episode, but the pop-in was nice. Standard Open Lines followed.
Saturday, on "Ian", IP had Philip Carlo on the show to discuss Richard Kuklinski, notorious murderer for hire. Sadly, I missed this episode. I really wanted to hear it, but the overload of C2C on weekends, especially with Art Bell returning, kept me from checking it out. Thankfully, we'll turn it over to Lesley's C2C Rewind, which gave the episode a rave review, "this show rocked! I think the difference was pointed out by Carlo when he said to Ian "It sounds like you actually read the book." Ian had read the book and asked great questions. We heard all kinds of freaky tales about Kuklinski, from his early childhood up to his death, a suspected poisoning by Sammy "the bull" Gravano."
After weeks, if not months, spent in exile, Art Bell finally returned to the airwaves on Saturday's C2C proper. He sounded crystal clear and there were no signs of technical difficulties, which was a relief. In typical Bell fashion, he returned to the airwaves right in the midst of a typhoon. The first hour of this show was great, catching up with Art and hearing the stories of his move, his marriage, and his mania. The rest of the show with James Gilliland was business as usual. Sadly, that business involved James Gilliland, so it wasn't a home run episode by any means. Gilliland talked about the usual fare involving his ranch, UFOs, and other mystical stuffs.
Sunday night, Bell was the host again and his guest was Dean Radin. I only caught bits and pieces of this one. Radin fans were, I'm sure, digging it. I've never really gotten into Radin, so I was particularly thrilled. I'm sure Art got a lot out of it, so it may be worth going back for.
Monday, The Noor made a run for the border in a special double guest edition of Coast covering the Mexico border crisis. The guests were Jerome Corsi and Jim Gilchrist. I caught a lot of this one and it was pretty good stuff. I'm still confused about why Corsi got the nod here, instead of Frosty Wooldridge. Corsi is like one more C2C appearance away from getting his own BoA counter. The show was strong, albeit dry and not as "out there" as C2C's usual fare. Great stuff for geopolitics fans, though.
Tuesday, the guest was Mary Rodwell to discuss ET abductions. Early in the interview, Roger Leir popped in to put Mary over as a great researcher. That was cool. Rodwell then talked about all sorts of stuff related to UFOs and ET intelligence. From what I could gather, she got her stuff from ET contactees, so I was suspicious about the veracity of the information. Many ephemeral questions by Noory, with good detailed answers from Rodwell, but there's really no way of finding out if they were true or not. All that notwithstanding, the episode was pretty entertaining and Rodwell had an Australian accent, so I'm inclined to believe she's telling the truth. I don't know what to say about Noory bringing up the fact that he thinks he is a "Star Child" again. Give up the ghost, George, you're like sixty.
Wednesday, was a tepid affair, despite my high hopes. David Standish was the guest and he was on to talk about Hollow Earth, ostensibly. Sadly, it turns out that he just researched the Hollow Earth theory and wasn't a big proponent of it. That kind of let the air out of the balloon right away. What an imposter ! After he crapped all over the possibility of Hollow Earth being real, he talked about the various theories out there, but there was a sort of smug superiority to it all that was repellent. I felt so betrayed and used. C2C needs to bring back Kevin Taylor, Hollow Earth enthusiast, to cleanse my spirit. I'd call the episode "decent, but disappointing".
Thursday, C2C brought it all back home again with Linda Moulton Howe for a full show. Outstanding stuff from LMH and I am usually a tough Howe critic. She had a two hour interview with some guy who had information on inside government dealings involving dead aliens. Quite simply a fascinating and riveting interview. Kudos and kudos again, I say. Best of the week, hands down.
Decent week, propped up by the strong LMH episode and the Bell return, otherwise it was rather blah.
The Week That Is
Let's take a gander at what's on tap for next week. We start it out with The Noor hosting the usual Friday into Saturday Open Lines. No word on the pop-in yet.
Saturday on "Ian", IP trots out C2C's resident pirate expert and all-around egomaniac Capt. Kelly Sweeney. Sweeney hijacked the first hour of C2C last November (11.13.5), when Ian was the host, and managed to have his pop-in bleed into the next hour. In other words, the man is good. Since then, Ian's had a pirate expert and his name be Sweeney. The good captain will be on to talk about shipwrecks and oceanic terrorism. Sweeney's got charisma and it should be a good one.
Saturday night on C2C, Art Bell is the host and the guest will be Michael Sunanda, talking about the Global Climate. Sounds intriguing. Bell is all about Earth Changes, so he should really dig into this episode. Depending on how good Sunanda is, this could be a strong one.
Sunday night, Bell welcomes C2C's resident Nostradamus expert and overall bad prognosticator John Hogue. He'll be on the show to spread the news that World War III is well on it's way to being a reality. One wonders what cave Hogue just crawled out of, as he's a little late to the WWIII dance. I'm sure Bell is as freaked out as the rest of us at the present state of world affairs, so he will probably be flabbergasted at whatever Hogue has to say about what's coming down the pike. While I won't believe a word Hogue will say, I thoroughly enjoy doom and gloom episodes so this should be killer.
And then ... on Monday ... for the first time in over a year ... Richard C. Hoagland ... 3 Hours. Yes ~! RCH in the full guest spot, unfettered by a sidekick or roundtable compatriot, no longer boxed in by the first hour pop-in, Sir Hoags-a-lot is free to spread his esoteric wings and soar once again. Normally, I'm disappointed with 3 Hour Hoagathons, because they often turn into dreadfully boring discussions on hyperdimensional physics. However this time RCH will be talking about missing Apollo tapes, so he should be in full-on conspiracy mode, which is how I like him best. I say it now and I'll say it proud ... potential Coastie contender right here.
Tuesday, poor Noory will try to follow that episode with Craig Webb, talking about dreams. From the looks of the C2C preview, Webb will be covering dreams of all types. Good, because I can only think of two and they are "lucid" and "dirty". Depending on Webb's stuff, this could be a dark horse episode.
Wednesday, it's the infamous TBA. Who will it be ? Don't ask me. Jordan Maxwell ? I wish.
Thursday, Noory welcomes cryptoarchaeology legend Michael Cremo. I was kind of disappointed with Cremo's last appearance on Coast, so let's hope he brings the goods this time around. He's been in the "hidden archaeology" area for quite some time, so he can produce some serious radio gold, if the circumstances are right.
Looks like a strong week ahead. Hoagland and Hogue should both bring buckets of entertainment. Cremo and TBA could surprise and bring additional strong stuff. The others like Sweeney and Webb are also potential diamonds in the rough.
BoA Reloaded coming 7.29.6
Finally, I can stop working on the reloading of BoA. Sometime later tonight, I will begin rolling out the various updated pages and stuff.
We've got an almost totally new look for BoA : Audio that should make it easier to explore for first time visitors.
We've got new merchandise in the BoA store.
We've got the RSS feeds that our visitors asked for.
We've got Amazon ads displaying great deals on esoteric books.
The BoA blog will make another triumphant return.
We've updated just about every main page @ BoA and given them a refreshed look.
And, the BoA front page is tighter, smoother, and, dare I say, sexier than ever before.
It's nothing drastic, you won't crap your pants, but hopefully you'll dig it and like how we've brought things back up to speed.

OK. I just have to say, although I cringe to say it. . .
I looove my C2C; it is my treat, my sinful delight, my evilicious funhouse! I even take pleasure in sending annoying (but friendly) emails to Tommy! I roll with delighted laughter to hear grown men argue over the human race being descended from reptiles. . .or is that the spawn of outer space aliens! It's all so utterly delightful!! Bohemian Grove and 9/11 conspiracies and Illuminati and the New World Order - O, how fascinating, and yet, so, well........
But I MUST say that my recent descovery of the binnall report and the Coasties...so much joy, so much laughter. It's the cherry on top! Magnificent! Live On!
Terri It is so nice to hear from readers who, like me, try not to take everything on C2C so seriously. I cannot tell you how many folks fall all over themselves to debunk a C2C guest, when anyone with any sense knows that the offending guest is full of 90% malarky and 10% whiskey.
Thank for the props re : tbr and The Coasties. You'll be hearing more about the vaunted Coasties as we head towards voting season this Fall.
Stick with BoA, Terri, it's only get weirder from here.

I really enjoy reading your report every Friday...it gives me many tips on what to go back & listen to - if I miss a night (or 2 or 3, it's a gr8 guide to have.)
Fully appreciate that you expend that kind of energy for us - it certainly saves me a lot of time!
Thanx again,
S77 I actually hear this a lot from folks who use "the binnall report" as some kind of guide. That's really how it all started, anyway, as a means to keep track of who was on, when they were on, and what went down. Without the binnall report, great moments like when Hoagland said "NASA sucks" or when Tom Biscardi and Smokey Crabtree tried to fight Loren Coleman may have slipped through the cracks of the esoteric canon. And we couldn't have that happen.
I may miss some episodes, but I do my best to give y'all a road map that otherwise wouldn't exist.

This Week in C2C History
7.28.2005 : Who can forget Noory's obsession with random celebrities last year. Here's my coverage of The Noor, Hoagland, and Star Trek's Chekov, Walter Koenig : "Thursday, we heard first from Star Trek's Chekov, Walter Koenig. I have begun to enjoy celebrities making appearances on Coast, despite loathing it a while back. Koenig was great. I especially liked how he took his digs at Bill Shatner without outright shooting on him. Meanwhile, there's nothing quite as hilarious as hearing Richard Hoagland talk to a celebrity and Koenig was no exception. This reminded me of meeting someone's eccentric cousin, as Hoagland was busting out the "Chekov Trivia" on Chekov himself and then was ready to take up a full on campaign to get Koenig a star on the Walk of Fame. Koenig didn't seem to know how to react to the man we call Hoagie. " (tbr 7.29.5)
7.28.1999 : Proof that Seth Shostak has been polluting the airwaves with his unique brand of pithy skepticism, as he was the guest 7 years ago today with Art Bell. Of course, it sounds like nothing has changed for Shostak in the passing years, "Phone calls are taken this hour with the first caller asking Seth how he can dispute that there is currently alien life on Earth." (artbell.com cd rom)
7.28.1997 : Perfect juxtaposition of two news items from back in the day on C2C : "Art asks that anyone that has captured on tape any communication from their pets to give him a call. Art feels he can communicate with his own cats, even if some people think he's looney tunes. Talk Radio.... Nationally, talk radio ratings have gone down almost across the board. One of the few exceptions is Coast to Coast AM."
End Notes
And thus concludes another edition of the binnall report. Thanks for coming along on the ride.
Plugs : Tomorrow @ binnallofamerica.com, it's BoA : Reloaded. So much new and fresh stuff, you'll go batty checking it all out. Sunday, Lesley's C2C Rewind @ The Debris Field and smoker dave is updated. Monday ... see next paragraph. Tuesday ... Lesley's Grey Matters. Wednesday, Khyron's The K-Files. Thursday, Hot Newz. Friday, the binnall report.
As alluded to last week, this coming Monday sees the BoA debut of Ralph Molesworth's "Tall Tales". Ralph has a lifelong interest in UFOs and recently sent BoA a lengthy recap of the annual MUFON conference and that's when we knew he'd be a great fit for BoA. So, he'll be penning a bi-weekly column known as "Tall Tales". I am totally psyched about this fantastic new addition to binnall of america and I'm sure Ralph is going to provide some top-notch material for BoA readers. Check out "Tall Tales", debuting @ BoA on Monday.
binnallofamerica.com ... something like a phenomenon.
We managed to finish up just in time to enjoy most of our Friday afternoon and evening. Have an excellent weekend, I'll be back before you know it. Until then, this is binnall, signing off.
