It seems like it only rains on weekends here. How sad. My stress filled days are almost behind me now, my friends, and soon a whole new era will begin. I'm looking forward to it and I know after a bumpy start, we will be on the fast track to some amazing things. Stay tuned.
But before all that, we are coming at you one more time with your weekly dose of esoteric insanity you've come to know as the binnall report. This week, we look back at Art Bell's return to Coast to Coast and John Anthony West's solid appearance. We look ahead to a week awash in rebroadcasts and two Art Bell weekday episodes. I throw a plug in for a free online esoteric magazine that you will want to check out. I also give the low down on the hugely anticipated BoA : Audio Season Finale with none other than Gary McKinnon. We dip into the mailbag with some correspondence from BoA legend Joe Vee and we also dip into the history books as we find out what Sean David Morton foresaw in 1998 for the turn of the century. And, of course, we have an all new Hot Newz, where we find out about future books from George Noory.
It's jam packed. It's the binnall report. It's starting now.
The Week That Was
We left off last week with The Noor welcoming Wisdom Teacher Sri Ram Kaa and Angelic Oracle Kira Raa of The Temple of Self-Ascension. Seriously, those were their titles. I skipped this one and I still can't quite figure out what I missed. Sounds like a lot of new age mumbo jumbo. Following that was the usual Friday into Saturday Open Lines.
Saturday on "Ian", IP welcomed Dr. Wayne Dyer to talk about global thought. Sorry, Ian, I missed this one. I'll be sure to catch this coming week's Ian, since we're being inundated with replays.
Saturday night saw yet another "return of Art Bell" episodes, as Art was finally able to broadcast from the Philippines. I caught some of this episode, notably the first hour or so. It was pretty good and I was enjoying Art's take on his move to the Far East. I didn't hear much of full show guest Russel Targ, but what I did hear was good. The only downside to it all was that we got our first taste of what would become a nightmare the next night with Art's sporadic technical difficulties.
Yes, on Sunday night, Art was plagued with terrible technical difficulties and it ended up resulting in the show being pulled after the first hour. Sadly, the first hour including the on-air reunion of Bell and his former running buddy Richard C. Hoagland. They were rocking it out pretty good, but then Bell would get knocked off air and Hoagland would go "We lost Art" then after a while Bell would be back. This happened about 4 times or so and it got to be pretty maddening, except for when Hoagland would say "We lost Art", which turned out to be kind of funny.
Anyway, the dropped the episode after that and rolled out the 10.5.2003 episode of C2C where Art interviewed Hoagland and Mike Heiser. I don't remember this episode that much, but it was probably pretty good.
Monday, The Noor returned for his final 4 episodes prior to Noory Vacation '06. First up was John Holland, talking about being a medium. I've really grown to dislike these type guests as they have a really annoying air about them, like they know all the answers and we'll just have to trust them. Lots of totally un-verifiable answers to mundane questions, not unlike "do ghosts ride airplanes."
Tuesday, Noory's ongoing attempts to scare the crap out of us all continued with Randall Fitzgerald talking about the dangers of chemicals in food and drugs. Yikes. I'm glad I skipped this one or else I'd be going all Amish by now. I'm sure it was scary as all get out, but in an alternative science way.
Wednesday, Noory's guest was John Anthony West to talk about Egypt. I really dug this episode as West is at the epicenter of the big Sphinx aging controversy. Unlike some of the other "fly by night" Egypt guests C2C finds, West is pretty deep in the thick of it, including having a feud with Zawi Hawas. If that isn't badass, I don't know what is. Interesting perspective on this one and I give it a strong recommendation.
On Thursday, we ended the week with Noory phoning it in, as he welcomed Linda Moulton Howe, who in fact wasn't the full show guest, as I'd thought last week, but instead occupied only her standard 2 hours. She was talking about Morgellons disease and unfortunately I missed this. I did tune in right when she was leaving and Noory turned the show over to Open Lines for the last two hours or so and opened up the special "vampire line." That's right about where I called it a night.
Meh week, but that may be blamed on me missing a lot of the episodes. The John Anthony West interview was good as was the Hoagland / Bell reunion. Otherwise, there wasn't anything too notable.
The Week That Is
As I type this, The Noor is somewhere partying it up like a wildman as Noory Vacation '06 has begun. What adventures will he be on is anyone's guess. All I know is that we'll be treated to a bevy of replays and some fresh episodes with no guest hosts. Let's look at what is on the docket.
We kick it off tonight with Friday into Saturday Open Lines, hosted by none other than Art Bell, himself. At least that's what the C2C website says. Should be interesting if they can pull it off. I'm hopeful that it won't turn into a clustermess.
Saturday on "Ian", IP's guest will be Todd Tucker, talking about some strange starvation experiment from the end of WWII. Sounds totally fascinating and I think this is a perfect Ian guest. Could be a real gem.
Saturday night begins the C2C "Week o' Replays" with Art Bell's interview with James Van Praagh from 12.20.2003. Ugh. I'm not a fan of Praagh. You may be. Good luck with that. See my thoughts on mediums from The Week That Was and John Holland.
Sunday night is another replay, this one of Art Bell interviewing "the angry prognosticator" Gerald Celente from 1.18.2004. Celente is a hugely entertaining guest who's charisma is only exceeded by his sheer rage. The topic says it is "Trends for 2004" which means we will be able to size up Celente's predictions. Sounds like fun.
Monday, while the Noor is drinking pina coladas and getting caught in the rain, we'll be subjected to a rebroadcast of The Noor interviewing Catherine Austin Fitts from 4.4.2005. The subject is government black budgets. Let's see what I said about it last year : "Fitts was good, although hampered by her story being too scattershot. Sadly, the episode turned into a discussion on 911 by the last hour, showing that her story lacked focus. A tad disappointing, although her insider perspective was excellent."
Noteworthy is that the 1st hour contains a pop-in from Steven Greer where he rips on the ABC UFO Special, two months later. That part is pretty cool if you are a Greer fan.
Tuesday, C2C serves up a dose of awesomeness with a replay from 5.31.2005 of Noory interviewing Travis Walton. This is an excellent episode and one I raved about after it aired the first time : "an episode that will be remembered at the end of the year, come Coastie time. Great stuff from Walton, including his in-depth look at his abduction, the making of the film based on his abduction, and what it may all mean. I've not heard much from Walton and giving him 3 hours unfettered was awesome. " In other words, it's a keeper.
Wednesday, C2C continues it's hot streak of good replays with, oddly enough, a replay from an episode 2 days later, 6.2.2005, Noory interviewing David Icke. Here's my recap from last year : " Kudos to Noory for getting Icke off the ephemeral, and potentially boring, discussion of "reality" and into the subject Icke is so well known for, New World Order agendas and reptilians. There's not much to say here. If you like Icke, you surely liked this episode. If you are an Icke-hater, you probably skipped it. I'd recommend it, based on Icke's wit and charisma."
Thursday, we take a break from "Week o' Replays" with Art Bell returning to welcome Cliff Pickover and talk about alternative realities in a fresh episode. Bizarre. I'm not sure why they had Bell come back for Thursday, but it may be an indication he'll be doing Friday next week, but don't bet on it yet. Pickover is pretty good and Bell should dig into it and given the lack of other episodes all week, it may turn out to be the best of the bunch (as far as new ones go).
In looking at the week as a whole, we're getting 3 strong re-broadcasts (Celente, Walton, and Icke) along with some other decent replays, so I can't complain too much. Be that as it may, I am chagrined and confused, because for the last 6 weeks, it's been a veritable revolving door of guest hosts (Mitnick, Garr, Knapp, and Mitchell) and you've got Ian, C2C's stalwart warrior, and the still-missing Hilly Rose, who deserves a return to host the Noory vacation of '06. So I don't quite understand why they have a ton of potential guest hosts but still need to fill almost the whole week with rebroadcasts, even though they are good to great episodes.
Worthy of Note
My friends @ thedailygrail.com have just released Issue 5 of their online magazine, Sub Rosa.

BoA : Audio, Season One
After 9 months, 22 guests, and 32 episodes, it all comes down to this. The BoA : Audio, Season One, Season Finale ... featuring ... direct from the UK ... infamous UFO hacker ... Gary McKinnon.
Yes, folks, we wrap it up with an all out bang, just like I promised, with this in-depth and ultrarare interview with the man who has been making UFO news worldwide for the past year. We cover this story from all sides. We get to the bottom of what info he got, why he doesn't have much, and what happened to what he may have had. We talk about the media reaction to his story and his ongoing legal battle over extradition to the US. We find out what Ufologists have gone to bat for him and what he thinks of being painted as a "martyr for Ufology." Has Gary had any strange occurrences since his hacking arrest ? What makes Gary's case different from other notorious UK UFO hacker Matthew Bevan ? Are there more Gary McKinnon's out there now ? What is Gary's chilling response when I ask him what he found when he looked into 911 ?
You'll find out the answers to all of these questions and tons more in the Season Finale of BoA : Audio. The underground esoteric phenomenon comes to a close for year one and the finale drops tomorrow @ BoA. Be there.

Letter #1 :
Tim,
Just checking in with a new article. I've got more time this summer with the thesis winding down, so, I thought I'd write while I can...before the next part of my program starts up. I don't know if you'll have room for it on the site, but I've enough material for the duration of the summer, if that helps at all.
V. Yes, my friends, the V in this letter indicates that it is from one of BoA's founding fathers, the infamous Joe Vee. This letter also included the first new "Wrath of Joe" in over a year. I have gotten a surprising number of letters re: "Wrath" and why it went dormant. Wonder no longer, as we will have the return of "Wrath of Joe" this coming Monday @ binnallofamerica.com with "The First Victim of the Cosmic Inquisition -- A Wrath of Joe Summer Special".
Whether there will be more "Wrath" articles in the future is anyone's guess, but I've already read "Cosmic Inquisition" this week when Joe sent it to me and it is excellent.
Letter #2 :
Great as always, binnall! This is how I decide which episodes to listen to every week, as I'm always a week or so behind.
FYI, I don't know anything about Koontz either, but the episode is well worth a listen. Ian and Dean had great chemistry and he is one interesting guy.
By the way, "irregardless"?
Streamlink member Pai Thanks for the high praise, Pai. What you use the binnall report for is pretty much why we started the column in the first place. There seemed to be no place where they recapped what was on the show for the week and previewed the next week and, thus, tbr was born.
I'll try and check out the Koontz stuff when I have time. I have a feeling it will fare well come Coastie season.
Meanwhile, it appears the "irregardless" debate rages again. We actually had a lengthy debate in this column a few months ago over my use of the word "irregardless." Some claim it is grammatically wrong, others claim that it is fine. I will continue to use it in this less formal setting, since we are all friends here.

This Week in C2C History
6.25.2005 : The beginnings of the Richard C. Hoagland burn-out can be found last Summer, when he brought his much hyped, God, Man, and ET Roundtable to C2C, a mere week after the explosive 911 Roundtable. The GMET RT never had a chance. The guests were Hoagland, David Flynn, Hugh Ross, and Mike Heiser. This was the last episode before Noory's annual vacation, so he pretty much phoned it in, himself. My thoughts on the grande affair from last year's binnall report : "The episode was a tad "bleh". A little too technical and somewhat too dry. Surprisingly, Hoagland did not talk all over everyone as many had predicted he would. The show definitely could have used a 5th hour, as there was still a lot to talk about. I guess Noory just had that "Vacation" song in his mind the whole time and was thinking of what kind of wacky adventures he'd be getting on over next week."
6.23.2004 : The Noor is a mark for Edgar Cayce, we all know that. So we should have seen a debacle like this one coming a mile away. Enter esoteric researcher Wynn Free and his friend David Wilcock, who is, apparently, the re-incarnation of Cayce (and also a friend of Hoagland). Ridiculousness ensued as Wynn and Wilcock insisted that Cayce had returned. "Wilcock described becoming aware of the Cayce connection from "bleed through out-of-body experiences," meditations and dream states that offered glimpses of this past life. "What's important about David is not that he's Cayce, but the message he's bringing forward," said Free." (c2c.com)
6.23.1998 : Sean David Morton was the guest with Art Bell. Shockingly, they preserved some of his predictions from the show. Check 'em out and you be the judge :
"3rd week of Aug 98, stock market breaks 10,000.
Oct 16, 1998 beginning of great downward trend of stock market. NOT the crash.
Feb 21, 1999 Kingdom of heaven comes to earth. (Which means change of consciousness, will to be free, spiritual awakening and realization.)
July 1999 Nostrodamus "King of Terror" returns. Relates to India and Pakistan. Possible war between them.
May 2000 Big crash. Once banks get into insurance and social security, market will crash. Economic reform (Sean didn't say exactly how.)" End Notes
Thus concludes another edition of the binnall report. I'm fairly certain I'll be catching more C2C than I had been in the last month or so, as my busy season is pretty much almost over. I will have personal stresses, but, hey, don't we all ?
Plugs : Tomorrow @ binnallofamerica.com, it's the BoA : Audio Season Finale that you simply cannot miss. An ultrarare conversation with UFO hacker Gary McKinnon as only BoA : Audio can do it. Sunday, Lesley's C2C Rewind @ The Debris Field and smoker dave update. Monday, the return of Joe Vee to BoA with "The First Victim of the Cosmic Inquisition -- A Wrath of Joe Summer Special". Tuesday, Lesley's Grey Matters. Wednesday, Khyron's The K-Files. Thursday, Hot Newz. And, Friday, we do it all one more time here with the binnall report.
binnallofamerica.com ... every which way but loose.
Time to go put the final touches on the Season Finale. Thanks for reading, folks, you'll be hearing from me next week, I'm sure. Until then, this is binnall ... signing off.
