I am all messed up. Much of my big plans for Summer of 2006 are beginning to take shape. As a result, up is down and down is up. My sleep patterns are in tatters and my work schedule in near equal shambles. But, it is all for the best and the weekend is here, so we can relax for a bit, take a deep breath, and rock onward.
We give a special shout out this week to my father, Richard, who will be celebrating his birthday on Saturday. Happy Birthday, Dad. Thanks for being patient with me as I chase the mysteries of the universe. It's not easy changing the world and I wouldn't be able to contribute my share of the work if not for your support. May you have many more birthday celebrations !
This week in the binnall report, we look at a disappointing episode of Coast with Bill McDonald, the Da Vinci Roundtable, and Steven Greer's wild appearance on Coast to Coast this past week. We look ahead to the hugely anticipated C2C return of none other than Dan Aykroyd, underground legend Gary McKinnon comes to Coast, and C2C celebrates 6/6/6 as only it can. Lesley's Ghost Photo Contest is in the Voting Stage and we give the information on how to vote now. I preview this weekend's special pro. wrestling edition of BoA : Audio, featuring James Guttman. A dip into the mailbag nets us a reply from C2C guest Paul Kimball re: the binnall report coverage of his appearance. Watts Wacker and David Icke show up in our perusal of Coast History. And Summer kicks off with C2C made-for-tv movie "Noory Goes to Camp."
It's all there and much much more, so let's rock and roll ...
The Week That Was
Tis a bit of a patchwork week for me, folks, so I apologize ahead of time. My schedule ought to be hectic for the next few months, but I expect to keep on trucking, though may hit a pothole or two from time to time.
Last week, we left off with The Noor welcoming Scott Flansburg "The Human Calculator", ugh, as the 1st hour pop in. I skipped this, of course, but I've a feeling Noory used Flansburg to balance his checkbook. Standard Open Lines followed with the theme of "Scary Outdoors", perfect for this week's Hot Newz.
Due to time constraints, I missed Ross Mitchell guest hosting "Ian" on Saturday. Thankfully, BoA's ironman Khyron covered the happening that was Ross Mitchell, Week Two. Amongst his observations, Khyron said "Just as with his first appearance as guest-host, Ross Mitchell demonstrated an entertaining personality and genuine interest in the topics being discussed. With his interviewing style, he comes off as friendly and knowledgeable. In fact, I'd say the best way to describe him is Ian Punnett but with a deeper voice. The two seem very similar and compatible with each other." You can of course read more of Khyron's take on Ross Mitchell second performance as guest host in this week's
K-Files.
I did, thankfully, catch Ian Punnett guest hosting C2C proper with Bill McDonald as the guest host. Sigh. I wanted to love this episode. I wanted to praise it and talk about how Ian had snookered his way into serious Coastie Contendership. But ... it was not to be. The purported topic was "Legends of Ufology", a subject that, if done right, can be top of the charts stuff. Sadly, of the 3 hour interview, McDonald talked about said legends for only about an hour or so. He also only discussed Len Stringfield and Karla Turner, both worthy subjects, of course, but hardly a who's who of UFO legends. The rest of the interview was on McDonald's background and his present UFO theories, much to my chagrin. The theories were decent, but I couldn't help but think it reeked of bait and switch stuff.
Noteworthy about this episode was Ian flipping the F out on the second to last caller in the 3rd hour. Ian just ripped into this dude who apparently calls all the time and changes his name. I had to rewind it twice it was so hilarious. Kudos to Ian for slapping the snot out of a C2C caller, something I've wanted to do on more than one occasion.
Sunday saw Art Bell still in the Philippines and the C2C machine digging into the archive to give us the 12.13.2003 episode of Coast, featuring Art Bell hosting and Nick Begich as the guest to talk about HAARP. You know the routine, I downloaded it for future reference, but skipped the replayed version. If you dig HAARP, it was your lucky day. Apparently, Whitley Strieber was the pop-in, talking about "dark encounters." I still have no idea what that means.
Monday, The Noor returned to bring together another in a long line of critically acclaimed Roundtable episodes. This time around the horn, it was the Da Vinci Code Roundtable, featuring Sir Laurence Gardner, Will Henry, and Glenn Kimball, all C2C stalwarts in their own right. Having listened to the majority of this episode, I thought it was decent. My only gripe is that I am not a follower of the Da Vinci Code. I barely understand what it is about, so when they went about picking it apart, I was playing catch up a lot of the way. I'd be interested in hearing from any Da Vinci fans to see if they thought this episode was strong or not.
Tuesday night, disaster struck, as Wayne Herschel went missing. I was looking forward to hearing his thoughts on ETs and ancient man. Apparently he lives in South Africa and may have mixed up the time zones. In his stead, Noory left the phone lines and succumbed to his Open Lines addiction once again and it was a 3 hour Tuesday Open Line festivus. Sigh ... for Quayle's sake, Noory, you had Hoagland on the line, he could have talked for hours !
Speaking of which, His Hoaginess returned for the first half hour of the show to talk about a hyperdimensional experiment and to hawk his God, Man, and ET DVD set. In all the Hoagland appearances I've heard, this may be one of the worst Hoagland schillfests ever. He was pushing those DVD sets like he needed to pay rent. Hmm, it was May 30th.
Wednesday, C2C was back on track with Dale Brown talking about the US / Mexico border problem. Unfortunately, I was not on track and missed this episode. BoA's Lesley did catch it and was nonplussed by the showing, "I only got to hear the first hour, but all I heard this guy talk about was how he got his fictional books published. I could not figure out what that had to do with the border. Anyhow, I skipped the rest and it doesn't really sound like I missed anything."
Thursday, The Noor welcomed the infamous Dr. Steven Greer to talk about his new memoir Hidden Truth : Forbidden Knowledge. I don't know what's in this new memoir, but it had Noory gushing like he was Oprah and The Noor did a fantastic sell job on the book. Greer, on the other hand, was all over the map, as usual, including an extended discussion on some strange events he experienced but never talked about like astral travel and communication with mysterious beings, both of which I'm sure will be more grist for the mill of Greer haters out there.
Greer also did a fair share of name dropping and making startling "revelations", including that a "high ranking SETI official" said that they are getting ET signals constantly or something along those lines. The Noor tried to pin him down on who it was, but Greer wasn't about naming names. Good episode, but it was pretty far out and much different from what I'd expected. It did a good job of selling me on Greer's new book, although I was a tad disappointed to hear him getting into such nebulous stuff as astral travel and what-have-you.
So there you have it. A decent week on C2C, but no episode really stood out or rose about expectations. It happens.
The Week That Is
We kick it off tonight with The Noor rolling out the usual Friday into Saturday Open Lines. The pop in will be former fitness guru and famous for 15 minutes D level celebrity, Susan Powter. You may remember her from the early 1990's when she had a white crew cut. Apparently, she's glommed onto the esoteric, God help us, and she'll be popping in to talk about the spirit-body connection. Ugh.
Saturday on "Ian", Ross Mitchell gets the week off and Ian rolls out a rebroadcast of his 2.18.2006 episode of "Ian" featuring Clive Prince & Lynne Picknett, talking about their book "The Sion Revelation." While I was all in favor of the original "8 Hours of Ian" a few weeks back, I must dole out big jeers to this scheduling move. I see no point in rerunning an episode from 4 months ago and not having Ross Mitchell or any number of the random guest hosts we've heard from all year. Where's Lisa Garr ? George Knapp ? Kevin Mitnick ? And, for the love of Pete, would someone please find Hilly Rose ?!
Anyway, Saturday night on C2C proper, Ian Punnett will be the guest host. The guest is TBA.
And then, on Sunday, George Noory steps in as host for perhaps the most anticipated C2C episode, for me, in over a year. Finally ... after months of my yearning ... after being named #4 on the list of "12 Guests C2C Needs" ... after I don't know how many rantings by myself in this very column ... Dan Aykroyd is coming to Coast to Coast AM ~! Wake your pets and call your neighbors, this is going to barnburner. David Sereda will be on with His Aykroyd-ness to talk about their big movie that just came out where Aykroyd talks "off the cuff" about UFOs. A guaranteed Coastie contender, a possible Coastie winner in any number of categories, this is an episode that you simply must not miss. That said, I thought I heard Noory say that Aykroyd would be on the first hour only, but I'm not positive about that. If that is the case, I will be profoundly disappointed, but the episode will still kick all sorts of ass.
On Monday, The Noor brings in Patrick Heron to talk about the antichrist and the apocalypse. If I recall correctly, Heron was supposed to be on a few weeks back but got bumped, so this is the make good episode. Should be decent, though I recall Art Bell really put Heron through the ringer when he was on a year or two ago and I never really forgot Heron's poor performance. Hopefully, he'll redeem himself and put in a strong performance, lest he be forgotten in the post-Aykroyd afterglow.
Tuesday, C2C splits in two for a double shot of esoteric goodness. In the first half of the show, The Noor celebrates 6/6/6 with "various guests". I'm guessing Sean David Morton, The Numbers Lady, John Hogue and a few other miscreants. This should be mildly entertaining.
In the second half of Tuesday's episode, The Noor has another coup for us, as he welcomes the infamous UK computer hacker Gary McKinnon to talk about the UFO conspiracy and the case against him for hacking into American computers. That should be stellar.
Wednesday, John Zaffis returns to C2C to talk about Connecticut hauntings. He'll bring with him some lady named Carmen Reed who was apparently tormented by various ghosts and goblins. Could be interesting and a little scary.
Thursday, the guest is TBA. You know the routine, I predict Jordan Maxwell and/or Steve Quayle and C2C brings out someone I've never heard of before.
All in all, it looks like a good to great week, punctuated by some strong guests like Aykroyd and McKinnon, though they may not be on the show long enough to make a serious impact. I'm hearing rumours that Aykroyd is only on for the first hour of Sunday's show, but we'll see what happens.

BoA : Audio, Season One
This Week : James Guttman, "World Wrestling Insanity. BoA : Audio takes on pop culture as only we can, discussing how the professional wrestling business has been reduced to a monopoly industry, allowing the bizarre McMahon family to run roughshod over what you see each week on TV. We talk about how ego overrules good business sense time and time again, how the WWE owns professional wrestling history and reshapes it to their liking, how the wrestlers fear to speak out against the machine even after they don't work for them anymore, and how the entire system is pretty much insane. We peer behind the curtain of professional wrestling in this special edition of BoA : Audio.

Next Week : Royce Myers, creator of UFOWatchdog.com . Royce and I discuss some of the more notorious hoaxes in UFO history, including the Johnathan Reed case and the story of the Alien Autopsy film. We also discuss the creation of UFOWatchdog.com, the infamous Sean David Morton lawsuit, why the aliens are partly to blame for Ufology's woes, which Ufologists does Royce think cut the mustard and what he doesn't like about Ufology today. It's a hardcore edition of BoA : Audio that you'll have to hear to believe.

Tim:
Thanks for the kind words at BofA - C2C was fun, and I'm glad some
folks found what I had to say useful / interesting etc.
Sorry I neglected to mention you, but rest assured that I've listened to
most of your podcasts, and think that you're doing some good work.
Keep it up, live long and prosper, etc.
Best regards,
Paul After calling out Paul Kimball last week for not mentioning me when Noory asked him who the future of Ufology was, I got this e-mail from Kimball himself. See, I told you people read the binnall report.
Anyway, as if this kind e-mail was not enough, Kimball actually went on to pen a list @ his blog about "Ufology's Generation NOW" and none other than the Great American Creep, binnall himself, was named as #9. (See the write up HERE)
While we all know that binnall is far more powerful than a mere #9, I cannot disagree with Kimball when he says, "Binnall is at the cutting edge of where ufology is going - on-line, 24/7, with no boundaries, for good and ill." or when he quips "He has the potential to someday be the successor to the likes of Coast to Coast's Art Bell and George Noory... and I mean that in a good way!" Aw, shucks. And who will dare to stand up and dispute Kimball when he writes, "Binnall's enthusiasm is a breath of fresh air, and he's become a significant alternative, DIY force in ufology, which I respect."
For what it's worth, Kimball also lovingly (?) called me a "huckster" and a "fanboy", but I think that's because he's Canadian. Geez, a man sells a thong with his face on it and everyone gets bent out of shape. It's the '90's, man, get with it.
Again, you can read the write up HERE.
Letter #2 :
Hello Tim,
I was listening to your interview with Ryan Wood and when you pondered over why India didn't have any representation in the UFO arena, I had a thought. Basically, a lot of India's history is built upon UFO lore. If you look at the BHAGAVAD GITA (flights of the Vimana's), for example, there are instances of flying machines of the Gods, so perhaps UFO's aren't that
great an enigma in INDIA because it's part of the culture. UFO's are
inevitably comprise a great deal of their heritage.
Tina in Boston
Thanks for listening to the show ! Interesting observations, Tina. I agree that there is much more than meets the eye when it comes to UFOs in India. I'd like to see some serious investigation come out of that country in the next few years that doesn't hinge on the reporting of India Daily, which is far too mysterious for my liking.
Tina was also kind enough to send along some info on what may be some UFO crashes in India that was promptly send along to Ryan Wood for his files. Hats off to Tina ! It is that kind of diligent leg work to help out a researcher that I'd like to see more of from the "general population" of Ufology.

This Week in C2C History
6.2.2005 : David Icke made his annual C2C visit on this date last year. Despite my earlier hopes and dreams, he did not give up on pushing the reptilian theory, in fact, he seemed to modify it with the times, "Further, he noted that some of these Illuminati are shape-shifting Reptilians that inhabit a dimension beyond our 5-sense reality. Yet, Credo Mutwa, the African shaman, has told Icke that he believes the Reptilians hail from our planet and are not as such extraterrestrial." (c2c.com)
6.2.2003 : Noory and guest Watts Wacker, seriously that was his name, looked into the future ... 500 years into the future. Perhaps seeing ahead to the evolution v. creation battles that have sprung up the last few years, he posited, "that the current age of reason is giving way to a new age of paradox where people are able to comfortably hold seemingly contradictory viewpoints, such as believing in both Darwinism and Creationism. " (c2c.com)
6.2.1997 : My how times change. From the artbell.com cd rom recap of the show : "Art and Keith have completed the live cam operation. You can now see Art live, in his studio, as he talks on the air."
End Notes
Wrap it up and put a little bow on it, because we are finished for one more week. Hope you enjoyed the ride, because I sure did.
Plugs : Tomorrow on BoA : Audio, James Guttman goes no-holds-barred on the professional wrestling industry in a special edition of BoA : Audio. Sunday, Lesley's C2C Rewind @ The Debris Field and smoker dave gets updated. Monday, either Trickster's Realm or general BoA updates. Tuesday, Grey Matters. Wednesday, The K-Files. Thursday, Hot Newz. Friday, the binnall report once again.
binnallofamerica.com ... "at the cutting edge of where ufology is going" according to some.
Until you hear from me again, this is binnall wishing you a pleasant weekend, a stress free week, and signing off.
