Twas another fugly week, this week, as the much anticipated late-June rush of stuff has hit me like a runaway train. Within this mix of stress, fatigue, and esoterica, I have managed to also pick up season one of Lost, so now I have a new obsession. No spoilers, please, this show is so damn good, I am glad I have a whole second season to catch up on. Once I'm caught up, I'm sure I'll have something to say about it.
Meanwhile, we are plugging along here with another edition of the binnall report. We look back at a sparse week on C2C that included the odd Wayne Herschel and the illuminating Bilderburger Roundtable. We look ahead to next week's Coast and the return of Art Bell and Linda Moulton Howe as a full show guest. We dip into the mailbag for a Haiku for Kaku and someone's Hot Newz suggestion. I plug a friend of mine's project and also reveal some details on the BoA : Audio, Season Finale that should be coming to you next week. We also look back at C2C's past, including the infamous 911 Roundtable. As if that's not enough, we've got the scoop on Noory Libre in Hot Newz.
So it is another packed edition of the binnall report. Let's wind it up and turn it loose.
The Week That Was
I barely caught much of C2C this week, maybe 3 episodes. Just wasn't a good week for me, folks, busy as hell and screwed up sleeping patterns left precious little time to catch up on Coast. I did what I could and will recap what I can.
We left off last week with The Noor welcoming Robert Taylor onto the show to talk about the stock market. Ugh. I worry about guests like these and folks listening who just plunked down their life savings on what a C2C pop-in had to say. The rest of the show was the usual Friday into Saturday Open Lines, with the special topic line being the redundant "nutty line." Yikes, I'm glad I didn't hear what that cat dragged in.
The experiment known in these parts as "8 Hours of Ian" finally ran its course on Saturday as the "Ian" show was a re-broadcast of the 2.25.6 episode featuring Gregg Braden. I missed this one again. The "Ian" timeslot is not working for me right now, but when I have more time, I'll try and keep closer tabs on IP.
The Saturday night episode of C2C featured Ian in the driver's seat once again, this time with Part 2 of his Dean Koontz interview, lasting 3 hours, much to the delight of those who dug Koontz the previous week. I barely know who Koontz is, so I didn't go out of my way for this one. Interesting tid bit that came up in the first hour that was alerted to me via BoA's Lesley's weekly Coast wrap up column C2C Rewind, "First hour we learned what many of us have long suspected, that the voices of hell tape is fake. This is not absolutely proven yet, but it seems like it will be next weekend or very soon." Hmm. Sounds like Ian has something up his sleeve here. Looking forward to seeing where this story goes.
Sunday was a replay of the classic Art Bell interview with Michio Kaku from 12.15.2003, talking about nuclear scenarios. As requested last week, one person did send in a "Haiku for Kaku". Look for it in the mailbag further on down the line in this column. I'm sure the episode was killer. I've added it to my personal archive so I can enjoy it more whenever I can.
Monday, The Noor welcomed Wayne Herschel in an episode that I managed to hear, thankfully. Herschel, as you may remember, was supposed to be on to talk about ancient astronauts, but he went missing two weeks ago and C2C had to have Open Lines instead. They managed to get a hold of him this time around and it was a pretty decent episode, although rife with wild stuff.
Herschel's "theories" didn't make all that much sense and there didn't seem to be too much behind them. Maybe I missed something, but I wasn't impressed. There was another C2C meets Jenny Jones moment when Richard C. Hoagland surprised Herschel by appearing in the 3rd hour and promptly disagreeing with him on a number of points and pretty much talking down to him for 30 minutes and then plugging his "retreat" for another 10 or so minutes. How charming.
Herschel also claimed he was being chased down by "the powers that be" and that was why he missed his appearance two weeks ago. Noory also was all about Herschel's book which apparently has a lot of great pictures. I should hope so, because his actual theories smelled of cat urine.
Tuesday, Rosemary Ellen Guiley was the guest, talking about hauntings, EVPs, and other ghostly stuffs. I missed this one and no one had anything to say about it over @ theusofe.com, so I suspect that it was just like every other REG episodes, solid but forgettable.
Wednesday, as predicted in that day's The K-Files, The Noor turned TBA into radio gold, as he brought Alex Jones, Jim Marrs, and Daniel Estulin together for the much discussed TBA Illuminati Roundtable. The RT was based around the recent Bilderburger meeting and featured Alex, Marrs, and Estulin giving the low down on Secret Societies. I've heard varying degrees of reaction to the chemistry between AJ and Marrs. Some seemed to think Marrs was getting annoyed, but I thought they played off each other like two old jazz musicians riffing in an amazing way.
Either way, I'll be going back to re-listen to this one, as it was surely a classic, the closest thing this year to 2005's Best Episode Coastie winning Secret Societies Roundtable. Lots of fun interraction between two C2C A-list guests (Jones and Marrs). Lots of good info, especially from Estulin. Lots of interesting leads and dark discussion into the satanic underbelly of secret societies that many of us know about but few rarely discuss in the open. Noory was melodramatic as all get out during the intro and I wish he'd actually read "Rule By Secrecy" so he could get his secret societies straight and stop acting like "the Illuminati" is the be all and end all of secret societies. He sounds like Mike Myers's dad in "So I Married an Axe Murderer," talking about the Pentaverate.
After gather dust for well over two months, the Quayle Watch was on again, as Steven Quayle finally returned to C2C on Thursday's first hour. SQ was fired up, as usual, about some Supreme Court ruling on search warrants. If the sky is indeed falling, Steve Quayle is perhaps the most entertaining of those trying to tell us about it. He also seemed to add a new gimmick to his repetoire, using "rhetorical" quite a bit, almost as much as "absolutely." See that, folks, Quayle evolves.
The full show guest was Charles Seife, talking about cosmology. I caught bits and pieces of this one, especially the final hour, and I was duly impressed. Seife seemed to channel Kaku, as he was tearing it up and the callers were raving about the episode. I'll have to go back and check out hours two and three as this may be one of those rare alt. science episodes that can retain my interest.
Sorry for missing so much this past week, folks. All will be explained in due time, I assure you.
The Week That Is
We look out over the horizon of another impending week and it looks pretty interesting on a number of levels. It begins tonight with The Noor hosting Friday into Saturday Open Lines. No word on the pop-in yet.
Saturday, things return to quasi-normal on C2C, as, first, Ian Punnett returns to "Ian" to right the ship that has been flailing about, rudderless the last two weeks. I'd like to see IP re-dedicate himself to the show and really make it a C2C spin-off, instead of C2C "Light", but I'm afraid that type of creative control is out of his hands. Irregardless, the guest for Ian on Saturday will be Dr. Wayne Dyer, talking about global thought. This episode is actually more ideal for Bell or Noory, in that they have both tried to utilize the global thoughts of C2C listeners before, but I'm sure Ian will deliver something good out of this.
Saturday night sees the C2C return, finally, direct from the Philippines ... Art Bell ~! This has been a soap opera year for Art, so I expect nothing less when we hear from him again as host of the weekend shows. His guest will be the eminent Russel Targ, who will be talking about non-local awareness and remote viewing. Targ is a legend, so this should be killer, especially if they can go in-depth.
Sunday night, Bell welcomes Maurice Cotterell to talk about the ancient Celts and hidden secrets. We've heard from quite a few guests like this the last 6 weeks, including Michael Tsarion and Patrick Heron. I could have sworn I heard Cotterell before on C2C and enjoyed it a lot, but I can seem to find any record of such enjoyment in the vast BoA library, so this should be worth checking out.
Monday, The Noor looks to rock out the week prior to taking what should be his annual late June vacation (look for that when they set up the schedule for next week's The Week That Is.) The guest on Monday will be psychic medium, John Holland. I am not a huge fan of psychic medium types, but Noory seems to love them, so this should be a decent episode. Apparently, Holland does some show on History Channel where he goes to old haunted places or something. Hopefully the episode won't turn into a long infomercial.
Tuesday, long time C2C fans will know Randall Fitzgerald as "the luck guy", who Noory drags onto the show every March 17th to talk about luck in a usually great episode. However, we'll be meeting another side of Randall on Tuesday, as he tackles myths of the pharmaceutical and food industries. Mmm, sounds yummy. Dark horse candidate to be best of the week, I'll say it right now.
Wednesday, say it with me, kids, it's ... T ... B ... A. The TBA is always mysterious as all hell. I wish C2C would give it a funky name like "Wildcard Wednesday" or something. I think it would really be a way to make lemonade out of lemons. Meanwhile, given that Quayle made an appearance on Thursday, I will amend my prediction, slightly : Jordan Maxwell, if not him, then it will be R.Gary Patterson.
Thursday, call your neighbors and wake the pets, the first lady of Ufology, Linda Moulton Howe returns to C2C for a full episode appearance. The lovely LMH has been trapped in the box of pop-ins and special episodes, that an ultrarare LMH as full show guest, is worth going out of your way for. Hopefully, The Noor will bring the goods and make this an episode worth remembering. Ostensibly, they will be talking about some disease called Morgellons, but I'm sure they'll cover a plethora of other topics.
Worthy of Note
Wanted to take some time this week to plug a new project that is being worked on by a friend of mine named Thoth. The project is called
The Book of Thoth and it is sort of like "wikipedia meets the esoteric".
I think it will be a worthwhile resource for anyone in the realm of the esoteric and definitely worth checking out.
BoA : Audio, Season One
Our work now moves into the mystery levels, folks, as we are awaiting taping the BoA : Audio, Season Finale. There will be no fresh episode this week, as we are on a rollercoaster chasing this Season Finale guest and decided to pull the plug on the other lead we were chasing last week, as it no longer "fit" the puzzle we are working on here. Plus, the Season Finale guest will be episode number 33. We simply must end it there.
I can't say much about the Season Finale guest yet. We expect to tape within the next 72 hours and this will be one for the books, I guarantee you. This is a massive guest that could only occupy the Season Finale slot, an above A-list, white hot, champagne supernova, if you will, as we will end BoA, Audio, Season One with a bang.
I expect to announce the name on Monday evening. I expect to air the interview on Saturday night, 6.24.6. Should things change, you'll know by mid-week. Trust me, this will be worth the wait.

Why not team up The Noor with Dog The Bounty Hunter as a feature on Hot Newz?
I was viewing Hot Newz last night and never laughed so hard.

Aw, shucks, Wm, thanks. We've worked on a Noory meets Dog the Bounty Hunter Hot Newz before, but it didn't come together well. We'll rededicate ourselves to the effort and hopefully it will soon. I'm still stunned by how we've had 88 editions of Hot Newz so far already. Stay tuned, there's always more hijinks to come.

This Week in C2C History
6.16.2005 : BoA's vaunted Coastie Award Winner for Best Episode of 2005 occurred last year on this date, the 911 Roundtable. Alex Jones, Peter Lance, Mike Levine, and David Ray Griffin in a special 5 hour knock down, drag out brawl over whether or not 911 was an "inside job". This was an all time classic episode of Coast and the final hour of Alex and Lance brawling and Noory getting caught in the middle was pure radio gold. At the time, I gushed about it, saying "This is an episode that will probably get 3-4 listenings in and maybe more. If you haven't heard it by now, you best listen to it, as it is a strong contender for Episode of the Year." (binnall report, 6.17.2005)
6.16.2003 : Noory welcomed Peter Guttilla to the show to talk about an 81 year old woman named Dorothy Izatt, who apparently had numerous moments of contact with ETs and other strange beings and had odd films of them. Sadly, Guttilla has not been back since so there has been no update. Here's some of the enchanting information provided by him on the episode from 3 years ago : "And among the myriad types of aliens she has encountered were "sly-eyed elfin ones," and humanoids over 9ft. tall, all of whom are benevolent. The abduction syndrome he related to a "lower order of life form," that Izatt doesn't apparently communicate with. She did however tell Guttilla that creatures such as "dog-faced men" have been able to enter our world because of environmental tampering to the Earth, which "created a breach between our world and the one next to it."" (c2c.com)
6.16.1997 : The infamous CNN / USA Today UFO poll results broke and Art Bell analyzed the numbers : "CNN and USA today conducted a poll which reveals 64% of all Americans say aliens have contacted humans. 80% of Americans feel the government has hidden information on alien contact. Art's question is, "Why do you think such a large group of Americans believe in alien presence, in a greater percentage than they give their own government credibility?" Do Americans believe in aliens more than their own government?" (artbell.com cd rom)
