4.14.6

What a glorious, beautiful day, folks. Spring is my favorite season and I try to savor it every year. I just literally got of the phone taping next week's BoA : Audio guest, which explains the lateness in this week's edition of the binnall report. You'll have to scroll down to find out just who will be on tap for next week.

But before all that, we've got the Week That Was on Coast to Coast AM, including two mentions of binnall on the vaunted esoteric series. We also take a look ahead at the Week That Is. We dip into the binnall report mailbag and This Week in C2C History. If that's not enough, you've got a preview of tomorrow and next week's BoA : Audio episodes and details on yet another movie starring Noory and the gang in Hot Newz.

Putting a topper on a long day, this is the binnall report, let's dig in ...

So what are we waiting for ? Let's do it.

The Week That Was

We left off last week with The Noor pulling a fast one on us by only hosting an hour's worth of the show and then putting on a replay of Michael Tsarion from 5.23.2003. I know he claimed that he wanted to get some sleep before his son's wedding, but I think we all know he wanted to slip out on the show so he could attend the bachelor party. For shame, Noory, for shame.

Meanwhile, Hoagland found his way onto that solo hour on Friday to talk about new pictures of Mars. I've been rather lax in my Hoagland obsession the past few weeks, so I actually missed this one. I'll be back up to speed soon and so will Hoags to Hoags AM, I assure you.

Saturday on Ian ... worlds collided, space time was shredded, and Ian quoted from last week's edition of this very column on the show. Almost instantly, binnall readers e-mailed, posted, and faxed BoA HQ for an opinion on Ian's "binnall mention". The wait is over, here's my opinion. (Ian, I hope you're reading this week as well.)

On a scale of one to ten, I'd give it a 6. Now, I'm a fan of free advertising, don't get me wrong, but it just seemed like Ian was a tad ... ignorant to the underground phenomenon that is binnallofamerica.com. Ian never bothered to put 2 and 2 together and get that I also write for C2C's magazine "After Dark", which is surprising since he claims to read it. Short term memory issues, Ian ?

Meanwhile, as far as plugs go, I would have preferred he spell out the URL of binnallofamerica.com, instead of just saying it twice. No one in America knows how to spell "binnall", Ian. (Okay a scant few do, but they are already part of the phenomenon.) Beggars can't be choosers, but they can be critics, I suppose.

All in all, I appreciate the shout out from Ian. I'm sure we'll cross paths again sooner rather than later. It was surreal to hear "the binnall report" quoted on C2C and for that I thank you, sir.

I meant what I said about Ian re: the Hershey episode. He did an excellent job. I wish I could say the same about the follow up episode, but his guest was Sean David Morton. How poor Ian got saddled with SDM is beyond me, but I suspect Morton is like that wacky uncle no one wants to sit next to at dinner.

I'm torn on whether to praise Ian or rip on him for mentioning the lawsuit involving Morton and UFO Watchdog. I will go with a tepid praise, but I don't think it's fair, at all, to continue to let Morton give his side of the lawsuit and fail to give equal time to UFO Watchdog. Let the facts speak for themselves. Otherwise, the episode was the usual stuff from Morton, albeit more autobiographical than outright prediction after prediction like he does with Noory or Art. That does make it a tad better than the usual Morton episodes, so Ian actually pulled the value upwards.

Saturday Night Bell was a replay of Bart Kosko from 11.15.2003 discussing nanotechnology with Art Bell. Being a non-fan of nanotechnology, I skipped this episode, much like I surely did two years ago. Luckily, theusofe.com poster and resident nanofan baemark did catch it and offered this review :

"It was 2 years old, so some of what he was saying has now progressed further. What's odd, is this 2 year episode sounded a lot like more recent episode. Same topics covered - gray goo, racial specific diseases etc. Overall, it was good, but I'd much rather have a more recent update. "

Thanks, baemark !

Sunday Night Bell was another replay, but this one was a classic. Dug from deep in the vault, it was a truly historic episode. Art Bell interviews Col. John Alexander and the late Philip Corso from almost 10 years ago (7.23.1997). I'll be honest, I only downloaded this episode to listen to later and haven't had the chance yet to fully enjoy it. (I've had a hectic week.) But, I am positive that it is a classic, as interviews with Corso, especially one done by Bell, are extremely rare. In fact, this may have been Bell's only Corso interview.

Monday, The Noor returned, fresh from his son's wedding, to welcome Alan Watt to the show to talk about secret societies. For the most part, I've heard good reviews of this episode, but I wasn't too thrilled with it, myself. I thought Watt had some good material, but much of it was scattershot all over the esoteric board. Population control, human cloning, and the Beatles, he talked about it all. I'll have to re-listen, because I think I missed something that the others caught, but I thought it lacked a "thread" to keep it on track.

Worth noting is that Noory also mentioned binnall on the show on Monday, making that two mentions in two nights of original episodes. Wow. I'm honored. Noory, of course, gave props to my article on Alex Jones for the recent After Dark issue and showed why he is master of the shout out. Listen and learn, Ian. On the same scale used for the Ian "binnall mention", I'd give Noory's an 8.

Tuesday, Dr. Sherri Tenpenny was the guest, talking about bird flu and vaccines. I caught bits and pieces of this episode, but a lot of it was a tad too alternative science and health care oriented for my tastes. I know Noory, and some of the audience, so I've no problem with her guesting.

Wednesday, Noory got biblical with Kenneth "The Lariat" Hanson, who discussed the Judas Gospel and other lost Biblical texts. This was an excellent episode, perhaps best of the week. Lots of good stuff on the creation of the Bible, without a lot of hyperbole and grounded by Hanson, who didn't want to commit to anything outlandish. A straightforward, but open to interpretation, episode that was strong on facts and light on silliness.

Confound it, I missed Thursday's episode with C2C stalwart William Henry. C2C's website tells me that Henry was on to talk about "his recent trip to Egypt". Why is it that every time Henry goes on vacation, he returns to Coast to tell us about it ? He's beginning to remind me of that random aunt who insists on showing us pictures of her trip to Machu Pichu or something. Despite my trepidation, I bet the episode was pretty good for that special kind of esoterica that only Henry can produce. He has carved his own distinct, albeit suspect, niche in the field, so it's always worthwhile keeping tabs on him.

Decent week. I didn't catch a lot of the episodes, but what I did here was pretty good. Some of the stuff I didn't hear was good to great, so you may have enjoyed it more than me.

The Week That Is

We begin "TWTI" with George "The Noor" Noory, hosting the usual Friday into Saturday Open Lines. No word on the pop-in just yet, but I expect we'll hear about it later on this evening.

Saturday's Ian features the Numbers Lady, Glynis McCants. Ian must have found the secret rolodex of insane C2C guests, as the floodgates have opened and they're all flocking to Ian. Good luck, Mr. Punnett. Hopefully, Glynis can keep it clean, but I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for that to happen.

The Bell Zone for Saturday night features the return of Art Bell after his brief hiatus. Where has Art been ? What has he been up to ? Did he bring me back anything ? We'll find out on Saturday when he returns to Coast. His guests for the show will be Barbara McBeath and Brendan Cook, the Ghost Investigator Society. Art loves these guys, so I expect a good to great episode.

Sunday night's Bell Zone features the return to Coast for Ed Dames. Major Doom has made so many predictions, I can't recall if he's passed the deadline for them lately or not, but I don't expect to find out with his appearance on Sunday. I'd like to hear Dames respond to previous C2C guests who have ripped on him, like Aaron Donahue and Russel Targ, but I also suspect we won't hear that either. What we will hear is the usual bull plop from Major Doom about how we are all screwed and how he is a genius for RVing the future.

Monday, The Noor returns with Emmy award winning Peter Lance to discuss some surely convoluted story involving the FBI and 911. If you recall Lance's appearance on C2C last January when he took two hours to tell one story, you know what to expect. Worthy of listening to, despite my penchant for loathing Lance, to see if his attitude towards 911 conspiracy theories has thawed.

Tuesday on Coast, Dr. Ronald Klatz joins The Noor to discuss anti-aging research. Ugh. Sounds boring as all get out. However, if it leads to a 130-year old Noory, I'm all for it.

Wednesday, Ken Klein takes us to Egypt to discuss the infamous pyramids. Klein says he has "hard evidence" that the pyramids were the work of ... supernatural messengers. Can it get anymore vague than that ? Should be wild, nonetheless and I'm interested in hearing where these supernatural messengers stack up in the pantheon of C2C creatures (ETs, shadow people, Bigfoot, ghosts, time travelers, shapeshifters, shadow rodents, Hoagland, etc.)

Thursday, Noory welcomes Paola Harris back to Coast. Ms. Harris is a stand up researcher and someone who has been beneficial to this author on more than one occasion, so I'm happy to see her return to the show. She'll be discussing the Paul Hellyer story and, hopefully, have some updates on that exopolitical bombshell from last November.

Hmm. Looks like a decent week, trending upwards. I'm looking forward to Bell's return this weekend and I think the last two episodes of the week will be particularly strong. How it fares in the middle is anyone's guess.

BoA : Audio, Season One

After a painful 3 week hiatus, BoA : Audio finally returns to action this week with a two part Nick Redfern interview. We've been working the phone lines and e-mail exchanges to line up some stellar guests as we head to our Season Finale in June. More guests will be announced as the interviews are taped. Expect some more names revealed next week. Until then, here's this week's preview ...

This Week : Nick Redfern (Part 2 of 2). We wrap up discussion of "On the Trail of the Saucer Spies" and also discuss his prior book "Bodysnatchers in the Desert" and the fallout in esoterica from that controversial tome. We also touch on the infamous Serpo story making the rounds and Redfern gives his perspective on how to deal with stories like that. Plus, a little bit of discussion on cryptozoology as well.

His website is : www.nickredfern.com

Next Week : Andre Eggelletion, "Where the Right Went Wrong on National Security, (And the Left Too)" The amazing author of the Federal Reserve expose "Thieves in the Temple" turns his critical eye towards the National Security aparatus with his new book and he comes to BoA : Audio to discuss it with us. We touch on Operation Ajax in Iran and how it probably caused the Iranian angst with America, the NSC / NSA and how it is used to circumvent Congress and their War Powers, Iran / Contra, the War on Terror, Diplomatic Exceptionalism, the mark of the beast, and where things may be headed for the future. It's a must-hear edition of BoA : Audio with a true visionary of the "big picture", Andre Eggelletion.

binnall report mailbag

Letter #1 :

binnall,

Dear Tim,

Just a note to let you know that there is one more who is listening. I have been downloading your audios form the since October 95. I think your site is a good one. You have had some interesting guests and your manner of interviewing allows the guest to express their points in a relaxed and coherent way. Your questions appear to be balanced. I do not see you trying to manuver your guests into any particular type of theory about the subject.

Keep up the good work

Regards

Andy

Thanks for the great letter, Andy. I'm not quite sure what you meant by "October '95", but it's all good. I appreciate the feedback on the show. I try to stay as unbiased as possible and let the guests give their thoughts on whatever their area of expertise is. It also helps that I have read their books and want to share their stuff with the BoA audience.

Letter #2 :

Tim, it is fantastic you get to interview these people!! How cool is that? I ask you. Very.

Nick Redfern. Love that guy. Great interview.

It lends a different perspective and gives me a different connection, being able to hear your voice. This is the first time I've listened to the audio.

Extremely neat. thanks.

You lucky guy you. And busy! Wow.

So tell me, how do you get these people to interview with you?

-- R.Lee

We actually got this feedback @ theusofe.com, but I figured I'd address it to a larger audience here in the binnall report. First of all, thanks for the great feedback on the show, R.Lee. I hope you check out the archive and dig in to some of our classic shows.

I get the guests based on a number of criteria, I believe. First of all, I've read their books. This is imperative. Also, once I had done a few interviews, it seemed that my "street cred" had grown to the point that it was easier to get more. The folks who gave me interviews at first were a great bunch of researchers who opened a lot of doors for me as time went on and BoA : Audio grew. I've found that the many researchers throughout esoterica are pretty approachable folks, for the most part, and enjoy having a chance to discuss their work with a thoughtful, capable, and independent radio show such as BoA : Audio.

This Week in C2C History

4.14.2005 : 2005's Coastie winner for Best UFO Episode of the Year, the UFO Roundtable. Just a knock down, dragout, awesome episode, opening many new doors for further research by interested listeners. Linda Moulton Howe, Grant Cameron, Bruce Maccabee, and Bob Wood were the guests. The episode lasted 5 hours, four of which were devoted to the roundtable. This episode is discussed in-depth @ BoA HERE.

4.14.2004 : Michael Ruppert made his C2C debut, tying 911 and the War on Terror into oil. He would go on to move away from the 911 conspiracy and more towards his oil research in the years to come on C2C. Here's what he said two years ago, "As to the current War on Terror, it is being done strictly because "the world is running out of hydrocarbon energy," said Ruppert. The major banks and oil companies recognized the necessity of seizing oil, he continued." (C2C.com archive)

4.14.1999 : Perhaps the C2C debut of the "Star Child Skull" ? "Hilly Rose steps in to guest host tonight. He begins with his views on Kosovo, then introduces his guest Lloyd Pye, who talks about a newly discovered skull which appears to be alien." (artbell.com cd rom)

4.14.1997 : Shades of the infamous Ray Santilli story as a different alien video surfaced and was briefly discussed on the show, "Regarding the footage of the alien on Strange Universe, a listener asks if Art plans on having Jesse Long on the program. There is a photo on the website that Art says comes pretty close to Strange Universes' clips. Another listener says he and his friend watched the footage and they both thought it was a fake. Art says he doesn't think anyone can make that assumption based on what was shown." (artbell.com cd rom)

End Notes

And we finish up with a small portion of time to spare on this delightful April weekend. I hope all my readers who celebrate Easter have a joyous holiday. Don't eat too many Peeps.

Plugs : Tomorrow @ binnallofamerica.com, it's BoA : Audio, Nick Redfern : Part 2 of 2. I expect to have it up pretty early tomorrow, so look for it in the afternoon or so, I hope. Sunday, smoker dave and Lesley's C2C Rewind @ the Debris Field. Monday, the debut of Viral Esoterica. Tuesday, Grey Matters. Wednesday, The K-Files. Thursday, Hot Newz. And we do it all again one more time right here in the binnall report next Friday.

I'm off to go do what I do. I'll see you on the flip side. This is binnall ... signing off.
