I can't help but be overjoyed at the lack of snow all winter here in Boston. The smell of Spring is already in the air and we look to be almost in the clear. Time flies when you are having fun and this winter has been like a stealth bomber.
We return this week to recap and preview Coast to Coast AM, take a look back at some historic C2C moments, dip into the binnall report mailbag, and find out more about Richard C. Hoagland's Olympic Adventures. If that's not enough, we've got an in-depth preview of tomorrow's huge BoA : Audio featuring none other than Loren Coleman.
Without any further hype, let's commence with this week's binnall report.
The Week That Was
When I last left you, on Friday, The Noor was preparing to air a pre-recorded interview he'd done with the lawyer of John Titor. For some odd reason, my interest in hearing this died after I heard Noory didn't play it until the end of the show and that the lawyer didn't seem to take it too seriously. I'm sure I'll check it out at some point down the line, but the Titor story may best be left to the way it was and not trying to include this new character that is his lawyer.
Also on Friday, Noory had Randy Cerveny on the show to talk about "freak weather stories". Open Lines followed until the Titor lawyer interview.
On Saturday, C2C's spin off "Ian" featured Lynn Picknett and Clive Prince talking about some book they wrote that deals with the Priory of Sion. I heard this was an excellent episode, but I'm still having a hard time catching the show and since C2C doesn't do MP3s for the Ian show, I'm at a loss as to how to catch it (unless I sit at my computer for 3 hours listening, which just will not work). I'll save my critiques for Ian for when I can catch the show more regularly. Until then, count me among the many who are annoyed that we aren't getting MP3s of these episodes, causing them to "slip through the cracks" more often than not.
Saturday night's Bell Zone was all about OBEs with Albert Taylor. I went into this one expecting a let down and ended up enjoying an excellent episode. Taylor had a masterful give-and-take with Art Bell, reminding me of Dannion Brinkley, who is apparently a friend of his. Taylor knew his stuff about OBEs, big time, and sounded totally "blissed out" from having hundreds of out of body experiences. A fun and enlightening episode.
Sunday night's Bell Zone featured Robert Zimmerman, talking about space issues. I missed this one, because I wasn't too interested in the topic and guest. However, I was informed by usofe.com denizen WTL the following short review, " Zimmerman and Bell were actually having a pretty fair old debate. Nothing nasty or below the belt, but quite passionate. I think the Zimmerman part of the show is worth a casual listen ."
Monday saw The Noor return with Nick Reiter, talking about paranormal research. This was actually pretty awful. Nothing against Reiter, but he just didn't bring the charisma and his stuff was pedestrian at best. Sounded like a glorified "weekend warrior" and I zoned out by mid-show.
I heard Loren Coleman was on in the first hour to talk about this Malaysian Bigfoot flap, in what may have been another attempt by Noory to trump BoA : Audio and steal our guests. (Coleman will be appearing on BoA : Audio this weekend.) No word on if The Noor asked about the possible existence of dinosaurs.
Following the sleep inducing goodness that was Monday's show, we were treated to another snoozer with Jeffrey Wands talking about psychic stuff on Tuesday. Just fugly. Boring as hell and full of your typical psychic "I see dead people" stuff. Not that I don't believe Wands can see dead people, it's just that I can't, sadly, and therefore have no clue what the hell he is talking about most of the time.
Subversive bonus points to Noory for another twist of the knife in Sylvia Browne when he mentioned her miner faux pas from January yet again. You can tell The Noor is just chomping at the bit to bring her back and rehash that debacle. I, for one, can't wait.
By Wednesday, I was pretty disgusted with C2C for such a series of sub par episodes and then it brings together a masterpiece that was Wednesday's show and, god damn, they do it to me one more time. Seven C2C guests, top of the line ones at that, discussing the now infamous UAE port deal that swept the news this past week.
Yes, it was the C2C UAE Port Scandal Special and it was awesome. Let's roll through it all. First off was egomaniac pirate hater Captain Kelly Sweeney. Sweeney was decent, giving some background on ports in general. He teased telling his pirate story and also seemed to want to run aground into the next segment, but The Noor kept him from drifting past his allotted time, thankfully.
Next up was Charles R. Smith who was mostly forgettable, but did talk about the UAE may be in bed with terrorists like Saudi Arabia. What would a potential terrorist event be without the master of the absolute, Mr. Steven Quayle. The giant hunter was all about how this is part of the globalist agenda and was as paranoid and passionate as ever. Another strong showing from Quayle.
Jerome Corsi was next with an excellent take on the situation and the Douglas Hagmann followed with a look at the terrorists potential involved in this transaction. Batting clean up was the bulldog himself, Alex Jones, who held court over the final hour, talking about the shady aspects of the deal and neo con cronyism.
Fantastic episode. The diversity of opinion, depth of ground covered throughout, and cogent theme made this a must hear edition of Coast. Almost perfect theme episode and that's sayings something.
Noory followed up that succinct masterpiece with a more ragged affair on Thursday with James Fetzer for the full show and David Ray Griffin and Morgan Reynolds sprinkled in as co-guests throughout the show to talk about the 911 conspiracy. Fetzer could have and should have carried the show alone and DRG and Reynolds just sort of watered down the entire process. Don't get me wrong, it was a great episode and one of the better 911 episodes C2C has produced, but a stand alone Fetzer appearance would have been much better. High recommendation, despite my uneasiness with the format.
Worthy of note is that I heard Noory said that C2C science advisor Richard C. Hoagland had some sort of mysterious illness recently, thus explaining his lack of appearances. I heard the expression "near death" was used, but I cannot confirm that as of yet. If this is all true, God speed and get well soon RCH. Your presence on Coast is sorely missed.
Good week, trending upwards at the end.
The Week That Is
We step up to the plate tonight for Friday night's show with no definitive word on who the pop-in will be. In light of the news of RCH's ailment, perhaps we can get His Hoaginess on to update us and tell us his tale of woe. Surely Open Lines will plague the rest of the show.
Saturday's Ian will feature Gregg Braden, of "God Code" fame, to talk about ancient religion. Since Ian is a religion lover, he should enjoy this episode.
The Bell Zone on Saturday stars Lisa Randall, talking about Hidden Dimensions. Some may recall that Randall was scheduled to be a guest with The Noor a few weeks back but technical difficulties put an end to that. Tis interesting that she'll be appearing with Art instead now.
Sunday's Bell Zone should be a fascinating one with Aaron Donahue talking about remote viewing. Donahue is a big favorite of theusofe.com's yamguy, so he is already yelping for joy over this one. For those of you who don't recall, Donahue is a controversial former student of Ed Dames who got all dark and satanic and now just scares the crap out of everyone. Should be killer.
Monday, The Noor welcomes Marianne Williamson to talk about "spiritual growth", whatever the hell that means. Ugh. Sounds awful.
Tuesday sees Charles R. Smith talking about military technology. I hope Smith discusses the dangerousness of China, as he seems to be an expert on their machinations.
Wednesday, Joshua Warren is back on the schedule after being bumped this past week. Warren will be talking physical evidence of paranormal events. Could be good, could be bad, I'm not sure.
Thursday ... TBA. For the love of Friedman, could you please bring back Jordan Maxwell ?! Thanks in advance, binnall.
Eh, mediocre week, on paper. Donahue should be the best, by a wide margin.
binnall of america : audio, Season One
This Week : I waited patiently for months to finally nab the interview I'd wanted for years ... Loren Coleman, the proverbial "Father of Modern Day Cryptozoology" finally comes to BoA : Audio. This interview is packed with enough esoteric questions you'll be elated.
I am a life long Bigfoot enthusiast and this interview covers the beast from a plethora of different angles. Also discussed are the Chupacabra, Loch Ness Monster, Giant Squids, and the giant bears of Siberia.
But wait ... there's more ... binnall also goes in-depth with Loren Coleman on his amazing book "The Copy Cat Effect", discussing how the media influences popular culture. The Sorrows of Young Werther, Suicide clusters, the nomenclature of suicide, school shootings, shark attacks, mysterious kidnappings, and other media fads. We talk about how Loren deals with being both a cryptozoologist and a nationally recognized anthropologist and media pundit. And, Loren makes a bold prediction that actually somewhat came true the next day re: school shootings. It's "Another Side of Loren Coleman" and an amazing conversation.
His websites are lorencoleman.com and cryptomundo.com.
Next Week : Jerry E. Smith (Part 1 of 2). The author of "Secrets of the Holy Lance" discusses, in-depth, the Spear of Destiny, also known as the Spear of Longinus. We trace the history of the lance from the Passion up to Hitler and all the various factions and rulers who managed to get a hold of it along the way. We also discuss the various esoteric aspects of the spear, the Austrian spear and if it is "the real one", relics in general and tons more. A fascinating discussion of an often overlooked esoteric realm.

Letter #1
binnall,
When are you going to be on Coast to Coast as a guest ?
Greg in New York, NY
I suppose whenever they invite me on the show. Despite my standing as the premiere C2C recapper and esoterica's generation next, I am in no rush to actually appear on C2C. The reason is simple. The debut appearance has to mean something. If/when I do appear, I'll wait until I have something big to promote and, after appearing, snatch the coveted Coastie for Best Newcomer. You heard it here first.
Letter #2
Tim,
Has anyone ever turned down appearing on BoA : Audio ?
Tony in Boston, MA
Hmm. One potential guest said he'd get back to me in December and I've still not heard from him, so perhaps he'd be considered a "turn down", but so far no one has outright said "no" to appearing on the underground sensation that is BoA : Audio. Many listeners have expressed surprise at some of the big names who have appeared on the show so far. All I can say is I guess they recognize that BoA : Audio is the place to be.

This Week in C2C History
2.24.2005 : It was moments after the ABC UFO special that had everyone in Ufology in a lather. The Noor had the esoteric star of the show, Michio Kaku, on to reflect on the special, " He said the program did a good job in exposing how the US government is not spending any money to investigate UFOs. Many scientists are very closed minded about this topic, he pointed out, yet string theorists such as he, are now seriously looking for parallel universes ." (C2C website)
2.24.2004 : Chupacabras and Mongolian Death Worms were the toast of the evening with Johnathan Downes and Richard Freeman, cryptozoologists. Great episode that had lots of non-Bigfoot crypto stuffs, " Richard Freeman believes that the mythology of the dragon is, in fact, based on a real creature. He noted that every culture has a legend about such a creature, going as far back as 25,000 years ago. He theorized that dragons may have been able to fly or float in the air, because of the large amount of gas they contained. Freeman also discussed his planned investigation into the "Mongolian Death Worm "" (C2C Website)
2.24.1998 : A testament to the pugnatious Art Bell audience : " Art's show has will be moving from WHNZ in St. Petersburg to WFLA in Tampa. The fan reaction was furious. Art says chill! He'll be back on shortly and do not send anymore email about it ." (artbell.com cd rom)
