After a weekend and early week that saw me sickly as all get out, I'm happy to report I am coming to you in near perfect health again. Be that as it may, I'm finding myself a little tired today and having a hard time getting out of first gear, so forgive me if we're a tad lackluster this week. All things considered, I got no complaints, though. Hope your Valentine's Day was cheerful.
This week, we'll look back at a fairly strong week of Coast to Coast AM, including a recreation of last year's Coastie winner and Ian giving a shout out to BoA's Khyron. We'll look ahead to the return of Serpo to C2C and the debut of a "time detective". I'll plug my first-ever interview again, now with a URL to find it. We'll preview tomorrow's BoA : Audio with Jerry E. Smith and weather warfare. No mailbag this week, sorry. We'll look back on the moment, two years ago, Noory mocked Hoagland's bolo tie. And, of course, my spies from the Great White North have the lowdown on Paul Kimball's play "Marat" in Hot Newz.
And now, it's time to hit you, baby, one more time with the binnall report ...
The Week That Was
We left off last week with The Noor handing over the reigns of Friday into Saturday Open Lines to Ian Punnett. And moments into the program, Ian finally paid off that promise to BoA and gave kudos to our senior columnist and hardcore Ian fan, Khyron ~!
Let me take this opportunity to thank Ian for coming through, big time, on this one. I had my doubts, but I learned my lesson ... never doubt the Punnett. Ian Punnett is a first class individual and an undisputed friend of binnall of america. Let me state here, for the record, that I'd take a bullet to the foot for him. Thanks again, Ian.
Following that momentous occasion, Ian had comic book icon Stan Lee on for the first hour. And Ian had his working shoes on with this one, peppering Lee with a ton of fascinating questions. You could really tell the difference here between a Noory celebrity interview and an Ian celebrity interview. IP knew his sh*t, big time. Lots of discussion on concepts behind super heros, moral and social dilemmas related to super villains, the comic book industry and tons more. I learned a lot from this brief interview and that may be the best compliment I can give as I am used to fluff stuff when stars show up on Coast. Kudos to Ian on a job well done and, hopefully, we can see a long form interview with Stan the Man on "Ian" sometime in the future.
Saturday on "Ian", Daveed Gartenstein-Ross was the full show guest and the topic was his brief foray into extreme Islam and how it all came about. Fascinating stuff here, as Ian helped Daveed flesh out the story of an impressionable everyman who ends up adopting an extreme Islamic point of view. Very reminiscent of the Walid Shoebat episode from last year, only this was a little more resonant, since Daveed's story could have been one of any confused college kid. As usual, Ian delivered with this one.
Saturday night on Coast, Art Bell had Jennifer Oulette on to talk about cosmology and alternative science. I skipped out on this one, but Lesley touched on it briefly in her C2C Rewind : Not bad for a "real" science show. Actually it was pretty entertaining and thought provoking.
Sunday, C2C tried to capture lightning in a bottle, as the 2006 Coastie winner for Episode of the Year was reformed on Coast, with George Knapp and Colm Kelleher on to talk about the Skinwalker Ranch. While this episode was very strong, it didn't quite live up to the original that won the big honors last year. This is mostly because Kelleher had to leave about an hour into the interview. That, of course, begs the question of why even bother having him on, as once he left, the topic of Skinwalker Ranch was only peripherally touched on.
While I was disappointed to see the premature disbanding of last year's winner, the following two hours of Art interviewing George Knapp more than made up for it. Knapp was cutting loose, big time, on information pertaining to the infamous Bob Lazar story and was revealing facts that even Art Bell had never heard. He also provided some great big picture analysis of Ufology and the media's take on the UFO phenomenon that was fascinating. I'd go so far as to say that this episode may have been the best UFO episode so far this year.
Monday, The Noor roared back into town with Paul Guercio and George Hart to discuss the Merlin Project. I listened to most of this one, but found it resembled a little too much of the "Numbers Lady" territory, especially with the celebrity predictions. I did, however, like how Noory kept referring to Merlin like it was a person. ("What does Merlin say about that ?") Essentially, it was the usual C2C prognostication garbage, but couched in alternative science to give it an air of legitimacy.
Sadly, I skipped out on the Noory / Casey Kasem summit in the 1st hour. To me, it was the kind of thing that could never live up to the greatness that it has on-paper and I wouldn't want to tarnish that by hearing the real thing.
Tuesday, Christopher Holmes was the guest and he was on to discuss consciousness and how it may tie into the heart not the mind. Strangely, the consensus @ theusofe.com was pretty split on this one, with Lesley and Khyron not impressed and Oscar and binnall being pro-Holmes. I only listened to the first hour or so and what I heard was pretty damn good, the others tell me that Holmes kind of ran out of gas shortly thereafter. What I did hear, from that first hour, was strong, including a hilarious and thoughtful rebuttal of Dean Radin's work and a fascinating big picture analysis of what is wrong with mainstream science today. Be that as it may, I have a feeling that once he focused on his primary area of research : heart consciousness, that may be where it all fell apart for some. A hit or miss episode.
Wednesday was a very good David Sereda episode, where he talked about UFOs and singularity. This reminded me of why I enjoyed Sereda so much the first time I heard him. I've taken him for granted since he's been on C2C a ton in the last two years. And when I sat down and listened to the bulk of this one, I was totally impressed.
And while I still find his singularity stuff to be a tad too nebulous for my feeble brain, I enjoyed his discussion on Shambala and was stunned by his revelation of how he got his singularity stuff (from a meeting with Jesus) because it was just so damn bizarre and extreme. Strong episode.
The formal week wrapped up on Thursday with Operation Floating Noory in full effect. C2C pushed Rupert Sheldrake to the final two hours and had Jeff Nelkin in the first two hours to discuss food stuffs. Despite my misgivings at first, Nelkin turned out to be pretty interesting, though I did find the whole two hours to be a little too NPR and not enough C2C for my liking. Sheldrake was good, but I forget most of what he talked about, so I can't really give this one a review. Decent episode, but a bit too dry all around.
In review, a fairly good week, with a very good "Ian", an excellent Sunday Art Bell and a couple of good episodes during the week.
The Week That Is
As usual, tonight The Noor lords over Friday into Saturday Open Lines. Given that we've had three strong Fridays in a row, it stands to reason that this one will be a dog. It also stands to reason that since Noory wasn't around last Friday and the past two Fridays have had barely any OL tomfoolery, he may go overboard and it will become amusing as hell. So I wouldn't be surprised to see three of the following people show up : Dr.Morgus, Hoagland, John Titor's mother, Oscar Son of Satan, Jerome Corsi, JC, Sulaymon, and some D-level '70's celebrity.
Backing up my thoughts above is the late breaking news that Brooks Agnew will be the 1st hour pop-in to talk about Hollow Earth. Yummy. Sounds like the makings of an "I've been to Hollow Earth" special topic line.
Saturday on "Ian", IP welcomes Bill Ryan and Kerry Cassidy to talk about Project Serpo. Yikes ! What is this, binnall of america : audio ? Is this some creepy sign that Ian is now stalking binnall ? Is that why he keeps calling me "Brocktoon" ? Will this culminate with Ian keeping me in a jar in his basement ? Oh God, I'm scared.
In all seriousness, I'll be personally intrigued by this one, though I'm more than burned out on Project Serpo. What will be more interesting is Ian's reaction to it, his questions, and where the whole conversation goes. I had a good time talking to both guests and I expect Ian and Bill will get along famously. I do find it suspicious, if not troubling, that Serpo is relegated to the Coast spin-off, C2C AM Live, after Noory did all that huffing and puffing last year about the big story.
Saturday night on C2C proper, Coast stalwart James Gilliland returns. When I first heard Gilliland, his stuff was fascinating and almost enlightening. That was all about his ranch and the crazy UFO sightings there. Four years on now, nothing has really come of it. So now he's on to talk about UFOs and Earth change prophecy. I'm not holding out hope on this one, but given that I haven't heard Gilliland in a while, he may win me over again.
Sunday night, Art Bell has Ralph Sawyer on the show to talk about geopolitics with a focus on China. Dark horse episode of the week, right here. Art hasn't dealt in geopolitics for a while, mostly dwelling in alt science for what seems like forever. China as a topic is ripe for C2C paranoia madness. I expect good things here.
Monday night, The Noor kicks off the week with Gunnar Thompson. I'm not sure how to deal with this one. At first, I was a little disgusted that Gunnar bills himself as a "time detective", going so far as to claim the title of "Sherlock Holmes of American history". Wow. That takes some balls, sir.
But then I looked at the topic, forbidden history, pre-Columbus and I almost shat myself at such high esoteric intrigue. We can discern that with a pedigree that includes "time detective" and an endorsement from someone named Thor Heyerdahl, Gunnar has charisma in spades. (Enough charisma for three men or the combination of a fat man and a skinny man) Needless to say, this looks to be best on-paper episode of the week and may be a bonafide Coastie contender when it's all said and done.
Tuesday sees the Noor get all philosophical on us, with James Gardner, science essayist. They're going to be talking about intelligent universe, cosmic evolution and other topics that consist of two science words and bore me to tears. They'll also be talking about the ramifications of ET on religion, which I pray (no pun intended) happens before all that alt. science stuff that may put me to sleep.
Wednesday, Paul Stonehill is the guest and the topic will be Soviet UFOs. I recall that Stonehill was excellent a couple of years ago when Art Bell interviewed him. I'm hopeful that Noory can get as much good stuff out of him. Another, on-paper, very strong episode.
Thursday ... TBA. Your guess is as good as (or better than) mine. That said, I have a sinking suspicion that we'll be hearing from Sean David Morton. He seems to be the go to guy when no one else is around. Hopefully I'm wrong and the guest will be Steve Quayle.
All in all, another strong looking week. The Serpo stuff with Ian, the geopolitical stuff with Art on Sunday, Gunnar Thompson, time detective, and Paul Stonehill, USSR UFO expert, should both be very good, so there's plenty to look forward to.
binnall speaks ! (still)
Last week, we were teasing it.
This week, we can direct you right to the page to hear the Great American Creep, himself, binnall in his first ever interview, emanating from Sweden, no less.
Here is Red Ice's host Henrik Palmgren recap of the historic conversation :
We are joined by Tim Binnall, founder of binnallofamerica.com and host of Binnall of America:Audio, to talk about the field of UFOlogy. We'll begin to talk about Tim, his background and what first sparked his interest in this field. We talk about his website and his weekly radio show and how it all got started. Then we'll talk about a few of the most recent UFO sightings like the one over O'Hare airport in Chicago and "the Phoenix Lights 2" just a few day's ago, and we'll get Tim's take on those. What are some of Tim's favorite sightings and does he favor and particular theory over another, concerning the UFO phenomena? We also address what is known as the "Fake Alien Threat", if it's necessary to connect Aliens or ET's with UFO's and a whole lot more.
So if you haven't heard it yet, check it out !
BoA : Audio, Season Two
This week : Jerry E. Smith, "Weather Warfare"
Jerry E. Smith returns to BoA : Audio to discuss his latest book, "Weather Warfare : The Military's Plan to Draft Mother Nature". We'll be discussing all sorts of weather modification stories, ranging from the Rainmakers of the 1890's, the UN's legislation on environmental modification and what's wrong with it, the military's studies of how to use the weather as a weapon, and some in-depth discussion on HAARP and what it might be used for, as well as, the contrail v. chemtrail controversy and how it all might be related to controlling the weather.

Next Week : Farah Yurdozu
Turkey's first female Ufologist comes to BoA to talk about all things Turkish and esoteric. We're going to be discussing Turkish history and how it may relate to matters of the esoteric, the amazing story of ancient underground cities in Turkey, Turkish Ufology, what esoteric area of research hasn't made it to Turkey yet, UFO sightings and landings, abductions and the strange traditions of abductions, Turkish Men in Black, rumours of Noah's Ark being in Turkey and tons more. A truly fascinating episode of BoA : Audio.

This Week in C2C History
2.16.2005 : Wednesday will go down in history as the episode that birthed its own Coastie Award : "The Hoagie" (Best RCH Appearance). This was, perhaps, Richard C. Hoagland as his finest.
Teasing his new theory some more, relishing in the dueling "life on Mars" announcements, taking credit for umpteen things, being puffed up by The Noor, and stirring the proverbial pot of intrigue when it comes to the insanity that the "life on Mars" announcement has wrought.
But what really set it apart was this snippet of dialog between Noory and RCH that has had me in stitches ever since hearing it (occurring at 29 minutes into Hour One) :
RCH : "We met over lunch and then I was not the rabble rouser that I am now. I was more kinda like a mainstream guy back then"
Noory : "You were ?"
RCH : "Yes. I actually had friends at NASA --"
Noory : "You mean you actually wore a tie, instead of that thing you wear at these conferences ?"
RCH : "That's right. Well, I'm ... New Mexico ... C'mon, it's the Hallmark of New Mexico ... Anyway ... it's called a 'bolo' by the way .... Anyway."
I said it at the time and I'll say it now ... Classic. I've been calling attention to RCH's love of the bolo for at least a year and now we get this sweet payoff. A soundbite that will be remembered for years to come, I'm sure. 2.16.1998 : You have to give credit where credit is due, back in the day, Art Bell didn't run from his critics, "The UFO/Paranormal news group has published a story titled "Art Bell on Government Black Ops payroll." Art says this is one of the better attempts to accuse Art of this and he will read it to us later in the show." (artbell.com cd rom)
2.14.1997 : "On a Friday night J.C. is interviewed the entire second hour of the show and takes calls from listeners. It was during this time when he was first identified as "J.C." ... J.C. says Art has "desecrated the holy ground of Right Wing talk radio" and 'subverts' Christianity by provoking people to "go into trances, to astrally travel, and to attempt psychic phenomena which is expressly forbidden by the Lord!" ... Says Art comes on late at night to creep into the subconsciousness of people "who fall asleep with their radios on after listening to G. Gordon Liddy or Rush Limbaugh," and that he plants "all sorts of ideas about fornication." (the excellent JC entry on Wikipedia)
End Notes
Well, it took me two and a half years, but I finally managed to work a "Brocktoon" reference into this column. Kudos to whomever got that joke, you're my hero.
Plugs : Tomorrow @ binnallofamerica.com, Jerry E. Smith returns to BoA : Audio to discuss the weather and how nefarious forces may be tinkering with Mother Nature. Sunday, Lesley's C2C Rewind @ The Debris Field. Monday, the debut of Tina Sena's Esotericana. Tuesday, Lesley's Grey Matters. Wednesday, Khyron's The K-Files. Thursday, Hot Newz. And, Friday, of course, it's the binnall report.
binnallofamerica.com ... something like a phenomenon.
Until you hear from me next week, have an excellent weekend, a dignified President's Day, and a stress free week. This is binnall ... signing off.
