12.2.5

You ever have one of those day where you just can't sleep ? I have and, sadly, it was today. To make matters worse, I just woke up in time to realize that I was way far behind on putting out this week's "binnall report". Rather than skip it or delay it to another day, I trudged on. We've been forced to trim out "binnall report mailbag" and "This Week in C2C History", but all the rest is still here.

One thousand apologies, dear friends. It shant happen again. Now ... onto the estoric tomfoolery.

The Week That Was

It was kind of a bleh week and I missed a few key episodes, but here's what I've got for a recap.

We left of last week with The Noor taking Black Friday off and in his place was a replay of Oliver Williams talking about John Titor from 8.6.4. I skipped this, but enjoyed it the first time around. The Titor story is bizarre, albeit probably bogus.

Saturday Night Punnett was all about divination with Shelley Kaehr. I missed this episode and haven't heard any buzz on it, so I've no recommendation on whether or not you should go out of your way to catch it.

Sunday saw Art Bell bring back one of the C2C stalwart, Ed Dames, to talk about Remote Viewing. Bell was all over Dames because he never produced the gold he promised, which was a surprise. Bell was also more interested in talking about the Paul Hellyer story than anything Dames said, which was pretty hilarious.

Monday, The Noor returned from his long weekend to bring us Albert Taylor to talk about OBEs. First, however, Noory had my friend Alfred Webre on in the first hour to talk about the Paul Hellyer story. Kudos to Noory and C2C for getting Webre on the show (another guest from BoA's 12 Guests C2C Needs feature article). Webre was good, but I wasn't sure if we got any answers regarding the Hellyer story.

Albert Taylor, talking about OBEs, was the full show guest. I wasn't too thrilled with Taylor, though he was interesting. He was very Dannion Brinkley-esque, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. It was a decent episode, but nothing too great.

Tuesday saw Gary Schwartz appear to talk about the TV show "Medium" and Allison DuBois. Good episode. I liked Schwartz's scientific style and thought it worked well with such an ephemeral topic. Particularly interesting were Schwartz's story about his talk show appearance and fight with the debunker. Also, his side story about his brewing "feud" with DuBois was hilarious and fascinating.

Wednesday, I was in a funk of some kind and missed the Hal Lindsey episode I'd been waiting so long for. Damn. I've already downloaded the episode and plan on catching it soon, sorry folks.

Thursday saw Noory kick off December with Will Henry, replacing Bart Kosko, talking about "star dust". While I usually enjoy Henry's awestruck investigations, this one was kind of a "miss". I thought he was stretching stuff at times to fit his theory and he is certainly not the best guest to have on if you want to discuss the infamous "galactic super wave". That said, the give-and-take between he and Noory is always amusing and Henry is pretty good for some interesting information.

Tepid week, albeit I missed the two episodes that were probably the best. I'll be back in the swing of things next week, I promise.

The Week That Is

C2C picks up the pace with a great looking week, on paper, this coming week, so lets take a look at their offerings.

We start out tonight, Friday, with a double pop-in of Mike St. Lawrence talking about "abduction insurance" and, in Hour Two, Linda Moulton Howe talking about the Hellyer story and a UFO crash story. I'm more interested in LMH than the abduction insurance guy, who sounds like a snake oil salesman.

Saturday Night Punnett is all about nutrition with Dr. Colin Campbell. This sounds pretty boring, but sometimes Punnett can bring out some good stuff from boring guests. Be forewarned if you are not a fan of science episodes.

Sunday has Noory returning for his monthly Sunday night episodes, this episode looks to be a fascinating one with Marc Siegel talking about the "epidemic of fear". Should be a great discussion of the sociological implications of the neverending War on Terror and all that jazz we are forced to live with today. I'm looking forward to this one.

Monday, The Noor has Dr. Paul Pearsall on to talk about the bad side of self help groups. This should be one of those classic C2C episodes that shines a light on the negative side of stuff we've always thought was good. Expect high doses of shocked and chagrined Noory, which is always amusing.

Tuesday sees the return to C2C for Lori Toye to talk about prophecies. I'd never heard Lori Toye before, only recently hearing about her in general from an awesome edition of Lesley's "Grey Matters". Toye sounds like a complete nut, so this should make for a good laugh. I will give Lesley credit for kicking off the Lori Toye renaissance, although I'm not sure she'll accept it.

Wednesday looks to be the best of the week with two guests, Christopher Knight and Alan Butler, on to talk about the "artificial moon theory". Sweet. Sounds like total esoteric madness at it's finest and I'm all for that. If they have charisma and some decent scientific facts, it could be a classic. I've not investigated much into the "artificial moon theory", so I'll be listening intently to see how it stacks up.

Thursday, The Noor rocks out with R.Gary Patterson, making his long-awaited C2C return to talk about rock and roll curses. I'm always a fan of RGP and his episodes are usually a fun romp through pop culture and esoterica. Should be a great pop culture episode of Coast.

Friday, probably Open Lines with a pop-in by a guest to be named later.

binnall of america : audio, Season One

This Week : BoA : Audio, Season One returns with Adam Gorightly. Gorightly is a self described "crackpot historian" and in this week's installment (Part 1 of 2) we discuss his recent book "The Beast of Adam Gorighly", where he covers government mind control, LSD, Charles Manson, Carlos Castaneda, and roller derby, amongst other eclectic topics. Adam is a fascinating researcher who has yet to really get the airtime he deserves, so we're psyched to be bringing him to the BoA : Audio audience.

Adam's website is www.adamgorightly.com

Next Week : Adam Gorightly (Part 2 of 2), where we discuss, in-depth, his book "The Prankster and the Conspiracy", all about '60's counter-culture icon Kerry Thornely and how Thornley got mixed up in the Kennedy assassination and eventually locked horns with Jim Garrison of all people and subsequently went somewhat insane. A fascinating tale that I'm sure you'll really dig. That's next weekend, 12.10.5, on BoA : Audio, Season One.

The 2005 Coasties

Coastie Voting Season has begun !!

Ballot, Rules, and Resources can be found here : 2005 Coastie Ballot.

Voting continues until Dec. 21st. Do your Coastly duty and vote of the Best of Coast to Coast for 2005 with The Coasties.

End Notes

There you have it. Sorry again for the way too short edition of "tbr" this week. The lack of quality C2C episodes coupled with my own inabilities to sleep today are the dual factors which put the hurting on the 12.2.5 installment of your weekly jaunt through Coastdom. The prospects of a good week next week assure me that we will have a meatier edition of "the report" for ya on 12.9.5. Be there.

Plugs : Tomorrow on BoA : Audio, Season One, it's Adam Gorightly (Part 1 of 2). Mind Control, the Tuesday Weld conspiracy, the Manson Family, Carlos Castaneda, and "Psycho" Ronnie Rains, roller derby legend, are a few of the esoteric side roads we journey down. Sunday, it's SNP and smoker dave. Monday, something special, I'm sure. Tuesday, Lesley's Grey Matters. Wednesday, Khyron's "The K-Files". Thursday, Hot Newz, featuring another Coasties "Get Out The Vote" poster. And, Friday, we do it all again right here with a full powered "binnall report".

Thanks for reading. Hope you have a great weekend, you'll be hearing from me again soon. Ta ta for now.
