12.16.5

Back again after last week's harrowing adventure with a crippling, vomit inducing, migrane headache. Much thanks to everyone who sent their advice on how to kick the headache and your overall well wishes. I am thankful to say that I have ditched the migrane and now I am only inflicted by a slight sore throat that I am hoping to lose by the end of the weekend.

Speaking of which, by this time tomorrow, I will be at the beginning of a 10 day vacation from my "day job". Every year, I take the week before Christmas off, because I like to have time to spend with my family and am disgruntled at the inadequate time allowed by "the man". Anyway, I'll be on vacation, which should allow for some quality time to develop some new stuff for binnallofamerica.com, including a potential new layout for the site in January.

But I'll save all that Merry Christmas stuffs for next week's edition of "the binnall report". This week, we do it like we do it every week. Grab a cup of nog, Virginia, it's time to look back and then ahead at C2C and have some fun along the way.

The Week That Was

We left off last week with The Noor taking a day off and running a rerun of Open Lines on Friday. Originally airing on 11.5.2004, Noory had a pure Open Lines episode and it was based around the concept of "nine lives". I'm sure I caught this the first time it aired last year, so I skipped it this week. I'm not a fan of Open Lines as it is, so a replay of Open Lines is an exercise in pointlessness.

Saturday Night Punnett featured infamous UFO maniac Riley Martin, talking about his various insane experiences. I actually skipped this episode, as I had a busy day ahead of me on Sunday. From what I heard of this, Punnett was not buying much of Riley's material, which speaks volumes for IP's ability to see through crap.

Sunday was a classic Bell episode, the very first appearance of "Mad Man" Markham from 4.18.1995. I was expecting some raving loon and was pleasantly surprised when Markham turned out to be not much more than a very eccentric, very smart kid. This was a pretty entertaining episode, especially listening to Markham tell his story of trying to build the time machine and how he got arrested. I especially liked the first caller who was all upset that people might try and copy Markham. Also, the call from the arresting officer was humorous as well. Worthy of "classic" status.

If you know me, you know I am not a huge nano fan. So, I wasn't particularly excited when I saw that Charles Ostman was the scheduled guest for Monday to talk about nanotechnology. That said, I did listen and I was actually pretty impressed. Ostman didn't go overboard on his nano talk and actually covered some other ground like UFOs and stuff, so I'd give it a mild thumbs up.

Tuesday saw Lloyd Pye appear on the show to discuss evolution versus creationism. Pye was excellent, covering a ton of ground and almost all of it was very good. His in-depth discussion on how to capture Bigfoot was fascinating. Pye didn't get into how he needed more money for Star Child stuff and was actually more discussing ET genetic manipulation of man more than anything, which is a nice change of pace from him. I was glad to hear him pontificate on some "big picture" topics for a change. Good to great episode.

Wednesday saw the C2C return of Peter Gersten, the UFO lawyer. Gersten is fairly infamous in the field of Ufology, having been around for years and been involved in a number of different stories. Despite my reservations, he seemed pretty solid and not much of a snake oil salesman. Most noteworthy was his decimation of Richard Doty's credibility, much to the surprise of Noory and the non-surprise of any member of the listening audience with a memory longer than 6 months. It was good to hear someone on C2C actually shoot some holes in the flimsy Serpo story for a change.

Also interesting was Gersten's candid comments on some in the Ufology field, most notably those in the "disclosure" camp. He seemed pretty down on them and may have also been taking a shot at Friedman somewhere in there, but I'm not sure about that. The only complaint I had with Gersten's appearance was that his discussion of the "end of the program" was ephemeral at best and confusing at worst. It sounded like he had a vague idea of what he was talking about but was otherwise just blathering on about 2012. His 1111 experience sounded flimsy and his thoughts on what may happen in 7 years was fantastic but almost too fantastic. Good episode, but not too much you can really take to the proverbial bank.

Thursday was all about Christmas miracles with Sherry Steiger. I only caught the portion of this episode where she talked about her car accident which killed her son. That was a horrific retelling of what had to be one of the worst moments of her life. Terribly hard to listen to, but I did. I skipped out once they opened up phone lines. Decent episode, but due to her failing voice, it never really got out of the starting blocks.

The Week That Is

Despite all my yelping last week, C2C has gone and done it again, throwing on a rebroadcast of an Open Lines episode. Somewhere, BoA's Lesley is smashing her radio with her fists for the second consecutive week. This week's OL replay sees Glynis McCants (the "numbers lady") and Richard C. Hoagland pop-in at the beginning of the show and then Open Lines covering folks' "scariest moments". A good opportunity for all of us to catch up on some sleep.

Saturday Night Punnett is all about the Kolbrin Bible with Glenn Kimball. After all those recent ads for After Dark where Noory asks, "What's in the Kolbrin Bible ?", we shall finally find out. Should be good. I'm not too familiar with the Kolbrin Bible, so I'll be checking out this one.

Sunday night features the first of two Art Bell appearances this month. This time, he has Tess Gerritsen on to talk about forensics. When Art had Gerritsen on last time it was an excellent episode, so this should bring out the best in Bell once again.

Monday sees the first of a week of rag tag episodes on C2C. Guest host John B. Wells, whom I've never heard of, will have Bruce Lipton on to talk about a paradigm shift in biomedics. Sounds ... bloody awful. I'm not sure who John B. Wells is, but let's hope he's not too bad.

Tuesday sees the return to C2C of guest host Chris McGill. McGill hosted one episode last Summer with Stanton Friedman and scored high marks, so it will be interesting to see how he handles Joan Wester Anderson who will be talking about "true stories" of angels helping people. It sounds promising, but we'll see what happens.

Wednesday, C2C dips into the vault and pulls out the 6.15.2005 episode that saw the debut of Dr. Louis Turi. This was a classic episode and really fun and entertaining. I'd be happy that they are replaying the episode, if I didn't already have it on my harddrive. That said, it is a good opportunity for those who missed Turi's debut to catch it again.

On Thursday, a Rose grows on Coast. The venerable Hilly Rose that is. My favorite guest host, the Hill Man, will have a double shot of goodness, first Zecharia Sitchen for the 2nd time this year (both with Rose), will be on to talk about Niburu. Sitchen was hilarious in his abrasiveness last January, so hopefully he won't disappoint again. No word on why Hilly seems to be the only one who can get Sitchen on C2C, but I ain't complaining. For the full show, Hilly has crop circle researcher Colin Andrews on to talk about ... crop circles, of course. Andrews got high marks for his August appearance with Noory, so he probably won't disappoint when interviewed by the all too capable Hilly Rose.

Eh, looks like a blase week on C2C, littered with guest hosts and replays. A perfect time for a little rest and relaxation for yours truly.

binnall of america : audio, Season One

This Week : Alfred Webre returns to BoA : Audio to give us some insight into the recent huge news of Paul Hellyer calling for the Canadian government to have open hearings on UFOs. This is a special BoA : Audio co-produced and simulcast with Peace on Earth Radio. Webre and I discuss how Hellyer came to be involved in the Exopolitics movement, the reaction of present day politicians in Canada to Hellyer's bold statements, Webre's reaction to criticisms of remote viewing as evidence and how to address abductions to the mainstream public. We also hit on where the exopolitics movement may be headed in 2006 and much much more.

Alfred Webre's website is http://www.exopolitics.com

Next Week : It's a very special Christmas Eve edition of BoA : Audio, featuring a brand spanking new interview with the living legend of Ufology Stanton Friedman. We discuss when he knew that Roswell was "for real", how he reacts to critics and opportunists jumping all over Roswell, SETI, Bill Moore, advice for future Ufologists, and more. I've heard tons of Friedman interviews, so I did my best to cover new ground with the man that many call "the father of modern day Ufology".

Stanton Friedman's website is www.stantonfriedman.com

The 2005 Coasties Are Coming

This will be the last week where I push for votes for this year's Coasties. Voting the past week has been tepid at best, so NOW is the time to vote, folks. You've got about 5 days left to decide who is the best of the best on C2C in 2005. I know you and you haven't voted yet. What are you waiting for ?

Here's the ballot, rules, and resources : HERE.

Voting continues until this coming Wednesday, December 21st.

Re: Question of Binnall of America Audio Season 1

What do you mean by "Season 1"? Are you going to get rid of "Season 1" when you move onto "Season 2"? When does "Season 1" end? Thanks!

-- Michelle

Another question that I think I covered like six months ago, but I will hit it again this week. Originally, we'd planned on doing 13 interviews for BoA : Audio, Season One, then taking a nice little break and kicking off Season Two. That is still the plan, although the original 13 has now been expanded to somewhere between 16 and 20.

We expect to wrap up Season One sometime around February or March. From there, we'll be taking approx. 3 or 4 months off and rolling out Season Two sometime in the Summer of '06. Producing a weekly audio series is suprisingly grueling work, so a break will be a nice change of pace and allow me to cultivate new guests for next season.

Letter #2

Tim,

What do you want for Christmas ?

Bruce in North Carolina

Brucie, I'm fortunate in that I usually just buy what I want when I want it and am left with very little to "ask for" for Christmas. This year, I did request from Santa, and my family, a new computer desk and bookshelf, some DVD sets, a few books, and a new hamster to keep BoA's mascot Nibbins company. I expect that all will arrive in time for the 25th. A vivacious young blonde woman would also be nice, but you can't always get what you want ... for Christmas at least.

Questions ? Comments ? Send them to tbinnall@hotmail.com

This Week in C2C History

12.16.2003 : The Noor and C2C went old school, all the way back to the Bermuda Triangle with Gian Quasar, who "cited reports of "ovoid" shaped UFOs that were associated with missing crafts in the Bermuda Triangle, going all the way back to the 1920's and earlier. He theorizes that the UFO's are not manned by extraterrestrials but rather by the remnants of an "antediluvian" Earth civilization who may be abducting the occupants of the vehicles for reproduction or training." (C2C website)

12.16.1997 : Esoterica was abuzz with the news of a survey that was conducive to ET disclosure. Art Bell covered it as only he could : "Art reiterates the results of the survey of American people concerning alien life. The survey showed most people think the galactic neighbors would be friendly. Art says it is arrogant of us to assume they would regard us as we regard other living intelligent creatures. They could regard us about the way we regard an anthill, accidently step on it and squash 10,000 ants and we just say, oh well." (artbell.com cd rom)

12.16.1996 : Art was all mixed up in the Hale-Bopp comet story, including this tid bit : "A new explanation for the companion going around now, is that it is debris breaking from the nucleus. Alan Hale himself said this could be possible, there may be no companion at all. Art says the astronomers don't like this explanation because they would have to do a lot of rethinking about comets" (artbell.com cd rom)

End Notes

Ah. There you have it. Another week in the books. I'm gonna go relax for a while and I'll be back in due time with more of the madness you've come to expect from the clown prince of esoterica.

Plugs : Tomorrow on BoA : Audio, it's Alfred Webre, talking about Paul Hellyer, exopolitics, remote viewing, abductions and 2006 from an exopolitical perspective. Sunday, it's SNP and smoker dave. Monday, we look back at the BoA feature article "10 Improvements for C2C in 2005" and see if any of them happened. Tuesday, Grey Matters. Wednesday, the final day of Coastie voting sees a mad push to "Get out the Vote". Thursday, an all new Hot Newz and Trickster's Realm. Friday, it's a Festivus themed binnall report. And, next Saturday, a Christmas Eve edition of BoA : Audio featuring Stanton Friedman. As the snow accumulates and Christmas gets closer, stay tuned to binnallofamerica.com for all your esoteric needs.

Until you hear from me again, hope you have a great weekend and an awesome week. Get all your shopping done now, before the stores are sold out and ... don't forget to ... Vote for the Coasties !! So long, everybody.
