Ah, December already ?! Yikes, how times flies. I can't complain too much, as I do love the holiday season. Lots of stuff going on @ BoA HQ right now and this week, in particular, seemed to really pass in an instant. We've got a major announcement that may come sometime before the end of the year, but suffice it to say, it will be huge. Stay tuned for that.
We've got a lot in store for you this week, as we look back on an pretty blase week of Coast to Coast AM (except for a wild one with John Rhodes). We look ahead to another rather bland week that looks to be highlighted by Peter von Puttkamer. We roll out the linkage to this year's Coastie Ballot, preview tomorrow's UFO CRC IV special episode of BoA : Audio, including an additional guest added to the show just yesterday, we take a break from the mailbag this week, but still dig into the C2C vault to look back at John Hogue's predictions from 2003 and Hoagland drama from ten years ago. Plus, we've got the Coastie Commemorative Poster #1, only in Hot Newz.
Like the first glass of eggnog for the season, this is the binnall report ... familiar yet fresh.
The Week That Was
At the conclusion of last week's binnall report, George "The Noor" Noory was on tap for another Friday into Saturday Open Lines episode. Luckily, Linda Moulton Howe was the pop-in to talk about animal mutilations. She stayed for an extra hour to take phone calls, which was cool, and then they did two hours of pure OL. I listened to some of that hour of LMH and callers, but not much else. The animal death stuff was interesting, but I'm not a big cat mut fan.
Ian was apparently waiting in line in front of a Minnesota shopping mall last weekend, so we were left with an "Ian" rebroadcast of the 4.1.6 edition of C2C AM Live, where he interviewed Michael D'Antonio about the Milton Hershey empire. This was a top notch show, so much so that I ranted and raved about it in the binnall report at the time. So enamored with my ramblings was Ian that he read it on the following week's "Ian". So, in some small way, I like to think I inspired this replay. Thanks, IP.
Saturday night on C2C proper, Art Bell had Joel Garreau, of the Washington Post, on to discuss radical evolution. I skipped out on this one, as I'm known to do on Saturdays. Thankfully, Lesley caught it and covered it in her C2C Rewind ... "I wasn't sure that I would enjoy this show, but it turned out to be awesome! Garreau talked about technology being worked on by DARPA, mostly medical advancements and enhancements for humans. Art and Garreau talked about the good and the bad scenarios that could result from these advancements."
Sunday on Coast, after being bumped by technical difficulties the previous week, Jim Bell managed to make it on the air. Bell was behind the Mars Rovers and that is what he and Art were talking about for most of the evening. Kind of a middle of the road episode, with some good stuff, but a tad too dry at times for my liking. Jim brought a lot of interesting information about the rovers that normally would be clouded in rumour and innuendo, if presented by some of C2C's more dubious guests.
Speaking of which, halfway through the show, Art said he'd gotten a bunch of questions from '"Big" Dick Hoagland' (Art's words, not mine) So my wish for a throwdown between Hoagland and Jim only occurred in a virtual sense, but it was good enough for me. Prior to that, Art had discussed "the face" with Jim and both kind of wrote it off as the usual combination of lighting and outdated photographic work. Art also, later on, asked about the now-infamous "Robot Panda Head" (my words, not his). Then they realized it was on the Moon, not Mars, so I think Jim just gave some textbook answer similar to the one about "the face". In retrospect, it was a pretty decent episode, more for the inside joke nature of it all and less for the actual interview.
Monday, The Noor kicked off the night with some leftover Pye. Yes, Thanksgiving night's guest, Llyod Pye, returned to update us on his National Geographic special. Not much to this, but I appreciate C2C giving me an opening for another Pye joke.
The full show guest was Mark McCandlish talking about secret aircraft and how it may relate to UFOs. I was weary of this one, but ended up liking it quite a bit. Noory kept trying to drag UFO secrets out of McCandlish, but it sounded like he was almost totally out of the loop when it came to where the exotic technology came from. Be that as it may, he had a ton of fascinating info on wild aircraft that is being tested that we can only imagine, including some plane he said could go 12,000 miles an hour. Interesting stuff on black triangles as well. Great episode.
Tuesday saw esoteric stalwart Hans King as the guest to give us some "insights from spirit". I didn't listen to much of this, as I'm just not a psychic fan at all. Sorry, Hans.
Wednesday night, Noory brought back one of his friends from Ghost Fest, Dr. Edith Fiore to talk about spirit possession. This was a good one. For starters, Noory had a classic moment, when he put over how spooky the Queen Mary ship was and asked Edith if she felt it too and she sort of meandered around a nice way of saying, "no". I nearly did a spit take after that exchange, it was so hilarious.
For the most part, the interview was interesting, but a tad too ephemeral at times. She sort of implied that people with varying degrees of mood changes and outbursts may be possessed by spirits. She then gave advice on how to fix them. Much like a lot of C2C material, this was good "in theory", but good luck trying to convince some violently angry dude that he's, in fact, possessed by an evil spirit. Let me know how that goes.
C2C capped off the week with John Rhodes to talk about reptilians. Easily the best of the week and, since it occurred on 11.30, it answers the trivia question of "what was the final Coastie contender for 2006". Rhodes was, simply put, a wild man on this one. I thought I knew him, but I ended up being quite surprised by his style.
At times, he went on the offensive, including when Noory referenced David Icke's work and Rhodes lashed out that there had been reptilian talk long before Icke came along. Be that as it may, Rhodes seemed to fall right into line with the Icke-ian way of thought, including reptilians orchestrating world events. He also, hilariously, channeled Phil Carlo, by saying that the reptilians were listening to the interview and then he called them out and said the human race wouldn't take their oppression anymore. God damn, it doesn't get much better than that. Lots of great information in this one, some of very outlandish but all of it quite interesting. Fantastic stuff and definitely one to catch if you missed it.
All in all, a decent week, mostly average, except for the ultra strong Rhodes episode.
The Week That Is
The action resumes tonight as The Noor holds court over Friday into Saturday Open Lines. No word on the pop-in yet.
Saturday on "Ian", IP returns to action with Peter Lance. If you've been following Lance's progression over the last few years, you'll see that he's coming around to the fact that something was amiss with 911. That said, he's still a painful, painful interview. Expect him to run rampant for three hours, Ian will barely get a word in edgewise, and by the time it's over you'll be thoroughly confused and trying to keep twenty different characters straight.
Saturday night on C2C proper, Art Bell welcomes Peter von Puttkamer to discuss his documentary "The Real Lost World", which explores the ideas behind the Arthur Conan Doyle's book. Sounds fascinating.
Sunday night, Sean Carroll from Cal Tech, will be on the show to talk about time travel, dark matter, and other Kaku-esque topics. Should be interesting, though it makes me wish we'd get some more Michio soon.
Monday night, The Noor has Mathew Alper on to talk about God and the Brain. Alper is billed as a "neuro-theologist", but I think he just made that up, himself. Could be good, but may be dry.
Robert Duncan will be on the show on Tuesday to tell us about energy weapons, how they've been abused, and how random people are being used to test them. If he brings good info to the table, this could be a dark horse for best of the week. If not, at least we will probably get some righteous indignation from The Noor.
Wednesday night sees a double shot of ancient astronaut discussion with Jason Martell and Erik Parker. Ugh. Ancient astronauts ... one of the most over-covered stories on C2C. Could be good, could be standard esoteric stuff that we've all heard a thousand times before. We'll see.
Thursday is TBA. For the love of Ian, can we please get some Jordan Maxwell on Coast ?! The guy hasn't been on since April of 2005. That's outrageous. Prediction for TBA ... Sean David Morton.
Kind of a bland week, on-paper. Though tomorrow night's von Puttkamer interview should be sweet.
The 2006 Coasties are Coming
It's time for the third annual Coastie Awards ! For the past two years, we've culled the vast reaches of C2C's hardcore fanbase, from the big name message boards / forums to yahoo and myspace groups, and all points in between, to join together under the common cause of determining the best of the best for Coast to Coast AM for the past year.
We hope that you will join us in this year's festivities.
Let the games begin ...

BoA : Audio
This Week : UFO CRC IV Special. On the ground short interviews with Richard Dolan, Nick Redfern, Michael Salla, Paul Schatzkin, and Matthew Thuney from binnall's trip to Las Vegas. Plus, binnall will flesh out his recap of the weekend, with new details of the presentations and some great stories. Additionally, we'll have UFO CRC creator Ryan Wood on, in an interview taped a little over 24 hours ago, to reflect on this year's UFO CRC and go "behind the curtain" on the weekend's festivities.
The UFO CRC website is www.ufoconference.com
Next Week : Bill Ryan (Part 1 of 2). Serpo ... it was one of the biggest esoteric stories of 2006. We look back on the last year of the Serpo story from its birth, to its explosion in esoterica, to its subsequent whimpering out. BoA : Audio doesn't waste your time with the purported EBE culture on SERPO, we go in-depth on the story behind the Serpo story and it discuss the life of the esoteric monster that is "the SERPO story".
Bill Ryan's websites are www.serpo.org & www.projectcamelot.org
binnall report mailbag
As many of may know by now, in the last three weeks, we've added the "Listener Feedback" segment to the end of BoA : Audio. In essence, it is an audio version of this binnall report segment, only more focused on our audio show.
As such and in order to not over saturate the "feedback" gimmick, we'll be halving the number of letters featured here each week from two to one. When we can, we'll try and feature "binnall report" or C2C related letters here.
Considering all that, we're taking this week off from the mailbag, due to the overload of stuff we have going on right now as it is. This segment will return next week.

This Week in C2C History
12.1.2003 :: As C2C is wont to do around this time of year, they brought in John Hogue to talk about Nostradamus and to also give some predictions ... "He predicts Bush will win a second term in 2004, though "I see a shadow over him," he said, which could portend a serious health problem or accident. While it will be a close race, he commented that the Democrats won't run a strong enough candidate to win."
12.2.1996 :: If you thought the drama of Hoagland was limited to the last few years, I guess you were wrong. Note this all too brief snippet recapping an episode from 10 years ago ... "Richard Hoagland... Updates us on his press credentials revocation. " (Art Bell CD Rom) Damn, I'd love to hear that one.
12.1.1998 :: Classic Art Bell stuff here, from when he used to try and explore conspiracy. "Art says if you listen closely tonight, you will be horrified at what you hear. William Donaldson will be on with "smoking gun" evidence about flight TWA800 being shot down." I'm sure modern-day Art would be aghast at such an episode.
Meanwhile, in the "Duck and Cover, Y2K is on the way!" Department, "Art gives some advice about Y2K, prepare now, whether it turns out to be a bunch of hooey or not." (artbell.com CD Rom)
End Notes
