Ah, the Friday after Thanksgiving. Is there any day more bizarre and, at times, annoying. Personally, I like to just kick back and relax, free of all the talking and chatting you are forced to endure on Turkey day. The more daring souls out there go the opposite route and find themselves elbow deep in a shopping mall, wrestling half price toaster ovens from a yokel who is foaming at the mouth or getting trampled on the way into Walmart as a result of a mad dash to get thirty percent off some crap. Black Friday, it's becoming a holiday unto itself.
If you are in America, I hope your Thanksgiving holiday was awesome and full of that familial bliss that one comes to expect with the great day. If you aren't American, well, I hope your Thursday was swell nonetheless.
Anyway, we've got a packed edition of the binnall report for you this week, including a look back at a mammoth week of C2C that featured an astounding two theme episodes (JFK Assassination Special IV and Noory's Ghost Fest '06 adventure). We look ahead to a pretty interesting week featuring psychic predictions, reptilians, UFO abductees, and a bunch of other esoteric touchstones. I give you a taste of the madness to come as we tease the big kick off next week to Coastie Season and also preview tomorrow's BoA : Audio featuring Moon Hoax enthusiast Bart Sibrel. We dip into the mailbag for discussion on potential future binnall attended UFO conferences and a question about Hoags to Hoags AM. We climb into the C2C vault for more Y2K paranoia and a great Hollow Earth episode from last year's Thanksgiving night episode. And, we wrap it all up with a glimpse of the holiday festivities, Noory style, with Thanksgiving @ The Nooryland Ranchin Hot Newz.
Like the Tupperware full of leftovers sitting in your refrigerator, this is the binnall report, feel free to open up, pick at it some, and come back for more.
The Week That Was
Last week, we left off with George Noory boarding the Queen Mary for Ghost Fest 2006. Normally, I skip out on Friday episodes and OL nights, but the idea of a sea faring Noory was too good to pass up, so I was all about it. And I was pleasantly surprised by how good this episode turned out to be.
For starters, you had Noory with a live studio audience, which was kind of funny in and of itself. There were definitely some funny moments when the crowd didn't seem to be in sync with the show, like when they'd go to a break or Noory would tell an awful joke and you'd hear silence. (Though that may have been because of bad acoustics more than a nonplussed audience.) At other times, like when they came back from the break, the crowd would be raucous and it gave it a real "event" feel to it all. I also liked how, at some times, we'd get "Open Mic" instead of Open Lines and some dude in the audience would share his story.
Even better was the revolving door atmosphere of the episode, which saw appearances by Erica Frost, Jack Rourke, Dr. Edith Flore, Joshua Warren, Barry Taff, Eddie Conner, Jeff Belanger, and Mary Ann the Ghostbuster. Talk about a packed show. Brought back misty eyed memories of the UFO Crash Retrieval Conference specials that C2C did a few years back that were outstanding episodes. I'd like to see more on-site Coast episodes at these conferences, where a lot of folks get some time to talk. For what it's worth, this may have been the best Ghost episode of '06, on a number of levels. Great stuff.
Ian's early show on Saturday evening had Glenn Kimball on to talk about the Joseph mummy. I missed this one, but theusofe.com's gnosticknowledge was raving about it all weekend, "Great interview. I still am trying to wrap my mind around everything that was discussed. ... Alot of interesting info I have never heard before." Sounds like another killer Ian episode.
Saturday night on C2C proper, Art Bell's guest was Dr. James Canton to talk about the "extreme future". I missed this one, but Lesley managed to catch it and offered these thoughts in her C2C Rewind : "Dr. Canton talk about the future as expected, including climate change and medical advances. I understand Canton had jet lag which is why he only stayed for two hours. Still an OK show, so far as that type of show goes."
Sunday on Coast, Jim Bell was supposed to be the guest to discuss the Mars Rover, but technical difficulties left us with only one Bell, that being Art Bell. I fully intended to listen to this one, but once the guest couldn't be reached and they went to OL, I went to bed. Joe Vee managed to catch it and he told me that it was "enjoyable", so take that for what you want. I do think Bell Open Line episodes are usually a cut above the average OL eps.
Monday night, Noory brought back Bruce Goldberg, past / future life expert and hypnotist to discuss psychic attacks. Usually I'm no fan of Goldberg, but this episode was surprisingly good. I really noticed that Goldy and Noory had some great on-air chemistry and that brought the enjoyment level up quite a bit. Regarding the subject matter at hand, it sounded more like general "being positive" type stuffs and personality traits of negative people, instead of the hocus pocus hypnosis garbage that Goldberg is more famous for (see Dexter Monterrey).
I couldn't help but laugh when Goldberg said that C2C's quasi mascot (the shadow person) was actually a mischievous demon. In that vein, Goldy was cracking jokes throughout the episode, so much so that even Noory was cracking jokes after a while. I'd call this episode the pleasant surprise of the week.
Moving on to Tuesday's episode, the guest was Chuck Missler and the topic was Bible Code. Simply put, this was a home run episode. The only downside was that it took about an hour for the interview to really get going, as the first hour was a painful rehash of the present state of ill affairs in the Middle East and precious little Bible Code discussion. It was so bad that Missler even said something like, "we're a long way off from Bible Code."
Thankfully, I muscled through that awful geopolitical discussion and stuck around for the Bible Code talk and it was top notch stuff. Ultra kudos to Missler for his lengthy explanation for Bible Code really isn't to be used for predicting. Sadly, I think Noory didn't get that part, as his follow up question was something like, "So what do you see the Bible Code predicting for the future ?" Even Missler seemed exacerbated by that question.
Irregardless of that foolishness, Missler was spot on and really brought a ton of good material to the table. His lone prediction of the re-emergence of Babylon was fascinating, as was his discussion on the hidden mathematical elements within the Bible. His stuff on aliens and interdimensional beings and how that may relate to genetic engineering was riveting. While I heard some complaints because he was a hardcore religious type, I didn't find it all that off-putting, since the material he presented was very interesting. Excellent episode, save for the first hour of geopolitical stuff.
Wednesday saw the continuation of the C2C tradition with the JFK Assassination Special IV. After a few sub par years, this year's edition may have proven to be the best of the four so far, as it featured revolving door of guests, each of whom brought a unique perspective that wasn't too over-the-top or retarded. Great stuff and my only true complaint was that it was held on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, meaning that a large percentage of people probably missed it due to the big holiday the next day. I managed to catch most of it, albeit in MP3 form the next evening, but I'm afraid a lot of folks may have missed it.
Nonetheless, here's the rundown ... Paul Groody kicked off the show talking about the Oswald exhumation in 1981 and floated a "faux Oswald head" theory that was pretty new. The bonus was that Groody was actually qualified to float just such a theory, since in '63 he did post-mortem work on Oswald and was a part of the Oswald exhumation in '81 as well. Interesting stuff.
Following him was Jim Marrs. Always great to hear Jim Marrs. He was talking about the Oswald paraffin test information that came to light over the Summer. He discussed this on BoA : Audio in late September, so I was a bit zoned out here, having heard it before.
Lamar Waldron followed Marrs and presented evidence suggesting the JFK assassination cover-up was to prevent all out war with Russia, as an investigation would have revealed CIA plans for a coup in Cuba. Good stuff here as well.
Surprisingly, the next guest was Alex Jones to discuss the overarching aspects of the JFK assassination, what can be gleaned about it regarding the global elite and just what side Kennedy may have been on when it comes to the infighting at the highest levels for global control. I was supremely psyched to hear Alex's take on JFK, because we rarely hear it and it was pretty fascinating. Great big picture analysis.
Wrapping it all up was esoteric legend Brad Steiger. Much like Jones, Steiger is usually covering ghosts, UFOs, or other darker esoteric matters, so this was pretty rare to hear his take on JFK. He floated a Howard Hughes based theory that was interesting and also talked some about the New Orleans connections to the assassination.
All in all, great episode. Lived up to the reputation of the JFK Assassination special and actually surpassed the last few years' outings with the strong lineup of noteworthy names. Easily worth catching if you missed it.
Thursday night, C2C hoped you left room after your Thanksgiving meal for a nice big slice of Lloyd Pye. Sadly, I was stuffed and I slipped into a turkey induced night of sleep and skipped out on this episode. No buzz on it today, but I may go back and check it out later this weekend, time permitting. Pye was on to talk about ancient astronauts and the infamous Star Child skull.
Looking back, it was a pretty stellar week for C2C, including two jam packed theme episodes (Ghost Fest / JFK Assassination Special), a great episode in Chuck Missler, a fun one in Bruce Goldberg, an informative one in Glenn Kimball, and surely an interesting one in Lloyd Pye. That's what I call a balanced diet of esoterica.
The Week That Is
The week ahead starts out with The Noor bringing in C2C stalwart Linda Moulton Howe for her monthly appearance. LMH will be talking about strange animal deaths and disappearances. Should be killer. Let's hope they hold LMH over for another hour or two and spare us the painful three hours of Open Line madness.
Ian Punnett must already be storming the malls in his area, as we're being served an excellent replay of his 4.1.2006 episode with Michael D'Antonio talking about the Milton Hershey chocolate empire. This was an awesome episode, so good, in fact, that I raved about it in the following edition of the binnall report and plucky Ian read my praise on the subsequent episode of "Ian". If you missed it the first time, you owe it to yourself to catch it on the second go 'round this weekend.
Saturday night on C2C proper, Art Bell has Joel Garreau as the guest to talk about "radical evolution". Sounds like they will be discussing how technology is shaping human development, for good or ill. Garreau is an editor for "The Washington Post", so it will be interesting to see how far out he gets in this discussion. Knowing Art's love of technology and generally cynical disposition, I expect this to be a pretty entertaining episode.
Sunday night on Coast, Art tries to re-connect with Jim Bell, of Mars Rover fame, to get some info on the infamous little carts on Mars. I expressed my concern last week, that Jim Bell would be a "company man" for NASA, and those concerns remain the same. Also, I still don't expect Hoagland to show up for an ad hoc debate with Bell about robot heads. I'll check it out, but I suspect it will be very "run of the mill", unless Art takes it in a more esoteric direction.
Monday night, The Noor returns to the roost for guest Mark McCandlish and a discussion of unusual technologies. C2C's website teases that these unusual technologies may "play a role in the paranormal". This leads me to believe that this will go down a path of reverse engineering and secret government craft discussion, which could be interesting. McCandlish has been on a few times, so he knows what he's doing, if he brings the goods and has some charisma, it could be decent.
C2C brings back esoteric stalwart Hans King for, no doubt, predictions. Well, it's getting to that time of year where you can't walk through a week of Coast before stumbling over some would-be prophet. King is just the first of many of these nasty little bugs. Speaking of which, let's take a gander at what King predicted for '06 on the 1.1.6 episode of C2C, dubbed "Forecast : 2006" ...
"There will be two or three colossal natural disasters and at least one of them will be in the United States. " Hmm, I'm going to have to give that a "miss". "We are moving into a moderate recession, and housing prices will drop in most cities." Given my own personal experience, I'll give it a "hit", but financial predictions are easy for anyone who reads the paper. And, finally, "New, unexpected information will come out supporting the existence of ETs." Ouch, sorry, but that's a no-go as well. So, of the three predictions found @ C2C.com, King gets one very tepid "hit" out of three. In other words, believe what sounds like predictions he gleaned from watching TV and don't bother with the big stuff, because it ain't gonna happen.
Dr. Edith Fiore gets a full C2C appearance on Wednesday to give us some case studies in ET Abduction. She must have impressed The Noor on the Ghost Fest boat. I don't know much about her, so I will be interested in giving her a chance to shine here. Apparently, the conversation will also span "past lives" and "spirit possession", so this episode could go in any number of directions.
We wrap up the formal week with John Rhodes to talk about reptilians. Rhodes is almost always pretty damn good and I expect this to be the best of the week. Reptilians are a fascinating lot and one that I am usually quite fond of hearing more about. From my recollection, Rhodes is fairly grounded, so we won't be getting a load of "The Queen is a reptile" type discussion. An episode that I'll be sure to catch and you may want to as well.
Top to bottom it looks like a decent week of Coast, trending upwards. Nice mix of topics from alt. science to psychic foolishness to UFOs and interdimensional beings. On paper, I have no complaints here.
The 2006 Coasties are Coming
Surprising me by coming up so quickly are this year's Coasties. For those of you out of the loop, The Coasties are BoA's all points survey of C2C's hardcore fanbase to determine the Best of the Best of C2C in the past year. Featuring such categories as "Best Episode", "C2C Regular of the Year", "Guest of the Year", and special awards like "The Hoagie" and "The Coaster" (i.e. worst episode of the year). And, of course, individual awards for specific topics like UFOs, conspiracy, and alt. science, among others.
You can find out a ton of information on the '04 and '05 Coasties and binnall's running picks for the top contenders for '06 @ BoA's Coastie Mothership. (October and November's Coastie contenders to be updated shortly.)
The Coastie schedule for '06 is as follows ...
12.1.6 :: Ballot released, voting begins. Coastie season is underway.
12.29.6 :: Voting closes.
12.31.6 :: Winners announced.
Next week, as we kick off Coastie season, we'll also continue our tradition from last year of a month long series of "Get Out the Vote" Coastie Hot Newz among other highlights like a Coastie voter resource center and the return of the "I Voted" Coastie sticker.

Letter #1
Tim,
Do you plan on attending any other Conferences in the future ?
Barry in Portland, Maine Good question, Barry. I'm really still decompressing from the big Vegas trip and dealing with the overflow of information I've collected from the conference.
Looking over the events for '07, I'd like to check out the MUFON Symposium at some point, perhaps this year's festivities in Denver, Colorado. I've heard good things about the infamous Laughlin event, a week long event in February or so, but the duration of just such an event is off-putting, to say the least. If there is another X-Conference, I expect to attend that and I'm sure I'll be involved, in some capacity, with Paul Kimball's New Frontiers Symposium, should there be another gathering in the Fall of '07.
I did consider going down to Roswell for the 60th anniversary celebration in July, but, after thinking it over, I'm not sure I'd want to be a part of that, considering the number of posers, people in alien outfits, and obnoxious media folks sure to be in attendance.
Part of the problem with these conferences is that they are just an intense weekend, leaving me totally exhausted by the time I return to BoA : HQ and they do cost me quite a bit of money. That said, I expect to attend at least one conference in '07, perhaps two if I am feeling up to it. Details to follow once plans begin being put in place.
Letter #2 :
What happened to Hoags to Hoags AM ? You don't update it anymore.
Chris in Richmond, VA I expect to update H2H at some point soon. Part of the problem is that I've missed a lot of C2C this Fall, so I am losing confidence that I've managed to document every Hoagland appearance. That said, I've done my best to follow along and have been updating, off-line, the counter for the last couple of months. We'll post the updated counter sometime soon, along with an updated Quayle Watch and Corsi Counter.

This Week in C2C History
11.24.2005 : Co-winner of the Alt. Science Coastie for 2005, father and son, Kevin and Matthew Taylor joined the show to give us the low down on Hollow Earth. This was a top notch episode and one of the best Hollow Earth episodes I've heard on C2C ever. Amongst their propositions were that the Hollow Earth has "an inner sun and a "perfect environment" for supporting life inside the Earth. In fact, the Taylors contend that beings, thousands of years ahead of us evolved there, and orchestrated humanity's development."
11.24.1999 : Duck and cover ! Y2K is on the way !! "Art reads a story from a Canadian newspaper about y2k hitting early at two hospitals in Victoria, Canada. A computer glitch disrupted telephone service."
And, later with guest Wayne Simkew, Art channels Noory ? "Wayne and Art talk a little about the movie 'What Dreams may Come'." Twice ? "Art and Wayne talk about the movie "Contact" " (artbell.com cd rom)
11.24.1998 : C2C ahead of the game, once again. "A proposed NASA mission named "Deep Impact" aims to smash a 500 kilogram copper projectile into a speeding comet. The copper ball is on track to hitch a ride with the comet in the year 2003 to see what the comet is made up of. Art wonders why he always looks at the dark side, but what if this copper projectile knocks the comet off it's path and smashes into the Earth. " (artbell.com cd rom)
End Notes
Sigh. That does it for this week's edition of the binnall report. The ironic part is that this installment was like 80% done at 3 in the afternoon and then a bunch of different calls and visits happened from folks who are in town this weekend, so our collective discussion had to be tabled until after I'd gotten back to my free time. No complaints, though, as it's always nice to catch up with old friends.
Plugs : Tomorrow @ binnallofamerica.com, it's Moon Hoax enthusiast Bart Sibrel to make a case for the Moon Hoax and talk in-depth about the infamous Buzz Aldrin incident. Sunday, it's Lesley's C2C Rewind. Monday, October / November Coastie contenders are updated. Tuesday, Lesley's Grey Matters. Wednesday, Khyron's The K-Files. Thursday, Hot Newz. And, Friday, we do it all again right here in the binnall report and kick off Coastie season for '06.
binnallofamerica.com ... quicker than a hiccup.
With that, I depart for another week. Have an excellent weekend and I hope your November ends on a high note. Until you hear from me next week, this is binnall ... signing off.
