Like that funny rash you thought you'd gotten rid of, the binnall report is back, my friends. Don't get too excited, because we're still in a state of transition as we try and recover from the big trip out to Vegas. Being that there was a lot of pre-trip planning and post-trip decompressing going on, I'll confess to using it as a mini-break from my usual ardent C2C listening. The trip to Las Vegas for three intense days of UFO discussion was like an esoteric overdose that more than made up for catching barely any Coast.
Before we preview this week's binnall report, do check out my special coverage of the UFO Crash Retrieval Conference IV (HERE) if you somehow managed to miss it. I thought I'd have more to say today about it, but I'm a tad UFO CRC burned out right now and I don't want to overload an already packed double-episode of "tbr".
Those of you who are thirsting for more insight on the big weekend in Vegas need not be disappointed, though, as I'll surely be discussing it on this weekend's BoA : Audio.
Be that as it may, we still have a ton of stuff on tap for you this week, as I try to look back at the last two weeks of C2C, including the episodes I did catch, like Steve Quayle and Tim Good. We look ahead to the upcoming C2C week, with Noory live on a boat at Ghost Fest and the on-paper awesome JFK Assassination Special IV. We preview tomorrow's BoA : Audio return with Peter Davenport. We dip into the mailbag for some correspondence from readers regarding Darrel Sims and being a post-Coastie. We delve into the C2C vault for Y2K paranoia and Phil Plait hating on psuedoscientists. And, of course, we've got a special "lost" Hot Newz, Citizen Noory.
Let's resume where we left off and bring the madness full circle ...
(Some of) The Weeks That Were
As I alluded to in the intro, the last two weeks have been so busy with the entire Vegas trip that I really didn't catch all that much Coast. Of the 14, or so, episodes that aired, I probably only caught about 5, so this is going to a rather spotty two week recap. Things should get back to normal by next week. Till then, we'll run through the past two weeks and fill in whatever insight we can.
I'd be remiss in not highly recommending Lesley's C2C Rewind @ The Debris Field. Lesley did a fine job of recapping the stuff I missed. We'll be quoting her throughout the recap this week, since she caught a lot of the episodes that I didn't.
11.3.6 - 11.10.6
We left off on 11.3 with Noory lording over Friday into Saturday Open Lines. My extended vacation was justified, as Noory had Dr. Morgus on at some point and also the plucky French psychic Louis Turi. Sounds like a typical Friday.
The 11.4 edition of "Ian" featured Howard Bloom to talk about how there may be some kind of ambush involved in the Iran v. US conflict. I missed this episode, but I'm sure Bloom brought the usual strong stuff.
I did manage to catch the 11.4 C2C proper on that Saturday night featuring Dr. Roger Leir on the show to talk about alien implants with Art Bell. This was an excellent episode. My memory is fading as I write this, but I do recall Leir talking about various aspects of the alien implant, including that it gave off a specific radio frequency (which excited Art Bell), and talking about how various folks contact him to look at their implants. There also seemed to be a lot of discussion on the good v. evil debate with regards to aliens, which is always a fascinating discussion. Great episode.
On Sunday, 11.5, Art Bell was out of action due to technical difficulties and The Noor was called into action to interview Sir Charles Schults about Mars. We'll turn it over to Lesley for the play by play on this one ... "They talked about space exploration and even artifacts on Mars. Noory was cracking me up by trying to convince Schults that he and Richard C. Hoagland have much in common and should be friends. It didn't seem like Schults agreed much with that."
Monday, 11.6, the guest was Brent Raynes to talk about a UFO / psychic connection. Not too much buzz on it over @ theusofe.com, but Lesley said "I thought this was a pretty good show and I liked how it was different that most ufo related shows."
Tuesday, 11.7, Noory's old friend Joe Jacobs was the guest to talk about fate v. self determination. I expected this to be a dog, but Lesley put it over as surprisingly good, "I enjoyed this show probably as much as I can enjoy that type of show. I didn't get to listen to the entire thing, but I found myself rolling my eyes a lot less than I do with other "seers" or remote viewers. "
Wednesday, 11.8, the guest was Mish Shedlock to talk about economics. He pretty much painted an ugly picture of what to expect, but, thankfully, offered some solutions instead of just bemoaning what may happen. I appreciated that. Perhaps a tad too dry for the C2C hardcore audience, but the parts I caught were pretty good.
Thursday, 11.9, I was in Las Vegas and managed to find C2C on the clock radio next to my bed in the hotel room, so I caught the bulk of Steve Quayle's appearance while I tried to adjust to listening to Coast three hours earlier than in Boston. Very good episode that may have salvaged an otherwise lackluster year from Quayle on Coast.
SQ was all about giants and aliens, including some kind of little alien picture he had posted to the C2C website. I'm not sure what to make of it other than it looked pretty freaky. Quayle was really fired up during this episode, including lashing out at his critics and just ranting left and right, which made for an entertaining evening. Despite not catching many episodes, I'll concur with Lesley who called it the best of the week.
11.10.6 - 11.16.6
Friday night, The Noor was on tour doing his book stuffs, and Art Bell was the guest host, doing Open Lines. I didn't catch any of this, but I heard that Bell got Nick Pope on the line to talk about his situation with the British MOD and the big news he made. There was a lot of talk about Pope in Vegas last weekend, mostly sidebar conversations between researchers trying to figure out what the story behind the story was. Also, I hear JC called in to bust Art's chops a little bit, which is always a nice surprise (even if it isn't quite as surprising as it used to be).
Saturday on "Ian", IP had John Loftus as the guest and the topic was various topics, apparently, like Iran's nukes, JFK assassination, and some anti-UFO talk, according to Lesley, "Loftus sticks by the government story that the Roswell crash was a balloon and that there is nothing in government files about there being real ufos." Ugh.
Saturday night on C2C proper, Art Bell's guest was Robert Young Pelton, professional adventurer. This sounds like it was a home run episode, according to Lesley, "Pelton had many interesting stories of the many war zones and other dangerous places he has been, a very entertaining show." I'll move it to the top of my "to do" list.
Sunday night, the guest was Dr. Ron Mallett to talk about the potential for time travel. Damn, sounds like a good one too. The buzz @ theusofe.com was pretty good on this one, including this endorsement from member De Sota "It was an excellent show if you like sciencey shows (which I do). Sounds like Art has a new favorite scientist."
Monday night, I had just returned from Vegas after a long ass plane ride, so I skipped out on getting reacquainted with The Noor, sadly. It was probably for the best, as first hour guest was C2C's favorite musician Pat Boone. I never quite got over Noory's fawning fanboy moments last time Boone showed up and since he was in-studio, I can only imagine it was much much worse this time. The full show guest was James Ray to discuss positivity (i.e. being positive to reap rewards). No buzz on Ray.
Tuesday was the last of the episodes I missed, as I was still in a post-Vegas malaise and really couldn't get it together yet. The guest was Jack Trimarco, the topic was polygraph cases. There wasn't much buzz on this one other than some dual disgust over the non-esoteric nature of the topic (which I personally don't mind at all) and Noory having Glenn Beck on in the 1st hour (apparently, some think he is too Right Wing for C2C), but I think Noory was just returning the favor to Beck, who has had The Noor on TV twice already. I bet Trimarco was pretty good, maybe I'll check it out when I have some downtime this weekend.
Thankfully, by Wednesday I was back in the swing of things here @ BoA HQ. And I picked a sweet episode to return to, as Timothy Good was the guest to talk about UFOs. Just a hands down awesome episode. Good talked about the 1950's UFO wave, his thoughts on disclosure, and tons and tons more. It's hard to recap an episode like this, as it was rich in fascinating material. Certainly a last minute contender to the Coastie for UFO Episode of the Year. This one comes with my highest recommendation.
And, finally, it was Thursday's episode with Joshua Warren to ostensibly talk about ghost pets. They didn't end up getting into the ghost pet part until the middle of the interview, but I didn't mind because the stuff before that was awesome. Noory went into an extended story about his producer Tom's strange ghost situation and also how Noory saw a ghost in the studio the other day, which was awesome. I'm usually not a ghost episode fan, but this one was one of the better ones I'd head in a while.
There you have it. A two week, double shot recap, doing the best I could. And while there looked to be a few stinkers in there, you can't argue with the awesome episodes featuring Quayle, Good, and Leir, plus whatever gems I may have missed during my downtime. As promised, we'll be back in the swing of things, for better or for worse, in next week's tbr.
The Week That Is
What a way to spend a Friday ... George Noory, on a potentially haunted boat, in front of a live studio audience ! Now that's what I'm talking about. Ghost Fest, which is like some kind of convention, will be holding court on the Queen Mary and Noory will bring us the action live, on-location. Kudos to The Noor for this bold move, I hope we see more of this kind of action in the future from C2C. Should be a fun episode.
Ian Punnett's early Saturday show "Ian" will feature Glenn Kimball to talk about the Joseph mummy and Hebrew pharoahs. Should be interesting stuff, given Ian's religious background, which I'm sure he will draw from to ask some astute questions.
Saturday night on C2C proper, Art Bell is the host, Dr. James Canton is the guest, and the topic is the "extreme future". Sounds like an awful Discovery Channel special. Despite my misgivings, Canton is a futurist and he'll be spelling out the top trends for the extreme future. Art's all about the extreme future, so I'm sure he'll be digging this episode. Could be quite good.
Sunday, we go right to the heart of the beast, with Jim Bell, the man behind the Mars Rovers. Sigh. And only about two years too late. Anyway, he'll be giving us the lowdown on the Rovers, no doubt from a "company" standpoint of mainstream NASA. I'd love to hear Hoagland call in to duel with him about artifacts and Panda Heads, but I'm afraid it probably won't happen. Surely interesting episode, albeit probably a bit too mainstream for my tastes.
Monday sees The Noor return from his high seas ghost adventure to welcome Dr. Bruce Goldberg, hypnotist / time traveler. Goldberg, perhaps most famous for his creation of Dexter Monterey (Noory's futuristic alter ego), will be on to talk about psychic attacks, how to avoid them, and how to travel in the 5th dimension. I'm not a huge Goldberg fan, but sometimes he brings some good stuff. Could go either way here.
Tuesday night, Chuck Missler returns to C2C to discuss Bible Code. Missler was on two years ago on Coast and it was a pretty damn good episode. In the time that has passed, though, I've grown weary of the Bible Code. Hopefully, Missler will bring something fresh to the table here. Darkhorse candidate for Surprise of the Week.
Wednesday night, Coast carries on it's tradition for a 4th year as it's the JFK Assassination Special IV. The first year was awesome, second year was awful, third year was decent, and now it looks like the fourth may be a renaissance for this special. Unlike in the previous years, when they'd only feature three experts, (some of whom had awful theories), this year we'll hear from at least four guests, including some real top notch researchers. The tenative lineup is Jim Marrs, Paul Groody, Lamar Waldron and Brad Steiger. I have an inkling that there may be more on the way, but those are the ones we know for sure now. Should be excellent.
The formal week wraps up with C2C stalwart Lloyd Pye on Thursday. Pye will be on to talk about ancient astronauts, no doubt weaving it into the Star Child story. I'm weary of the entire "ancient astronaut" stuff, which has been done to death, but Pye is usually pretty solid, so I expect this one to be decent.
BoA : Audio
This Week : Peter Davenport, director of the National UFO Reporting Center. Great stuff here as we talk about the NUFORC, how Peter ended up as director, his thoughts on talking so many UFO reports, hoaxers, UFOs and the media, the government and UFOs, some of Peter's "best cases", and a nice look at the infamous Todd Sees case. Plus, of course, tons more.
You can hear an MP3 preview of Peter Davenport on BoA : Audio HERE ** Just right click and then "save target as".
Her website is www.ufocenter.com
Also in this week's edition, binnall debuts "Listener Feedback", where he responds to listener e-mail and we close out the show with an excerpt from our 5.27.6 episode of BoA : Audio with guest Ryan Wood, discussing the UFO Crash Retrieval Conference IV. Ryan details how the conference came about, what the speaker line-up will be next weekend, and what topics will be covered at the big event in Vegas. Stay tuned for that special portion of BoA : Audio for a taste of what you may be hearing about in the future on the show.
Next Week : We're on the fence on this one. It will either be our UFO CRC Special or Moon Hoax expert Bart Sibrel. I've got to go over my material from UFO CRC tonight and see if it can be quickly synthesized into an episode for next week or not. If not, then it will be Bart Sibrel, creator of "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Moon".
You'll know by tomorrow, when we post the Peter Davenport episode.

Letter #1
Hi...
I used to listen to C2C lots, now--just once in a while. Guess I can now call myself a "Post Coastie", eh ?
Loved the pix on your site of Da Noor, Ricky C. and friends. I came across your site while looking for something else. It was a hoot and a-half. Thanks.
Linda Thanks for the props, Linda. I've never had my work called a "hoot and a-half" before. I can die happy now. Don't worry about being a "Post Coastie", everyone goes through their waves of fandom. C2C is like an old diner where you'll always be welcomed back. (even if Hoagland refuses to wear a hair net)
Letter #2 :
Tim,
I enjoyed your report on the Darrel Sims C2C visit--the show certainly had me on the edge of my seat! During the prolonged display of a serious inferiority complex he may have imparted something new and important but apparently it was too profound for me.
I do love your show. Don't change your style--it's perfect!
Karen I agree, for the most part, that the Darrel Sims interview was more bizarre than enlightening, but sometimes that makes for great Coast. While we may not have learned much from Darrel on this particular night, I think we learned alot about Darrel.
Regarding BoA : Audio, thanks for the props. I've gotten some nice praise for our laid back, but in-depth style. And while we may hype the crap out of the show before it goes "on air", when the show comes on, it's all business, as you can attest to. At the end of the day, though, I just try to provide a quality esoteric audio program that I'd want to listen to if I wasn't the one making it. The rest just works itself out.

This Week in C2C History
11.17.2005 : As I'd implored a year earlier, Alex Jones went on to become a C2C regular throughout '05, including this pop-in appearance that drew rave reviews from yours truly, "Noory called out the dog, the bulldog that is. Alex Jones stormed C2C's first hour to discuss current events. Great Jones appearance. This may have been his best pop-in so far this year and better than some of his 3 hour shots. Good discussion of some "big questions" and not too much focus on little details."
Noory and Alex also began setting the stage for the big "Illuminati Roundtable" that came together in the Spring of '06. "Noory and Jones alluded to pulling off some kind of Illuminati Roundtable, but they would do it stealthily. I am all for an Illuminati Roundtable, as that would be awesome. The part about them wanting to sneak it on the show so the Illuminati wouldn't shut it down reeked of theatrics, but I enjoyed it." (binnall report, 11.18.2005)
11.17.2003 : Coming out swinging, "Bad Astronomer" Phil Plait arrived on C2C to beat down some psuedoscientists, including C2C stalwart James McCanney. "One of his targets was the work of maverick physicist James McCanney. He's just plain wrong about comets not being made mostly of ice and rock and in his assertion that comets can be as large as planets, Plait said. He cited a probe that measured Halley's Comet and found it to be only 10 miles long back in 1985/6. " (c2c.com)
11.17.1999 : Duck and cover ! Y2K is on the way !! "Mark Stephens joins Art this hour to discuss Y2K. ... Mark says he feels there will be disruption. Art asks Mark if there could be a depression and how big a hurdle is Y2K. ... Art asks Mark about the President's statement that everything will be okay yet has built a bunker. ... Art asks if Mark feels there will be a panic and what would the worst case scenario be. " (artbell.com cd rom)
End Notes
Wow. I didn't realize this was going to go so long. Hopefully some of you stuck around long enough to enjoy most of it. Thanks for coming along on the ride while we try and get all the parts working again here on Planet binnall.
Plugs : Tomorrow @ binnallofamerica.com, the legendary Peter Davenport joins BoA : Audio for an in-depth discussion of the National UFO Reporting Center and key cases they've handled. Sunday, it's Lesley's C2C Rewind @ The Debris Field and smoker dave. Monday, we get all caught up on the '06 Coastie Contenders as award season begins in a few weeks. Tuesday, it's Grey Matters. Wednesday, K-Files. Thursday, Hot Newz. And, Friday, we do it all again with a slightly tighter edition of the binnall report.
binnallofamerica.com ... knock three times on the ceiling if you want us.
Sigh. Enough already. I've got stuff to do. I'll be off catching up on my work. Until you hear from me next week, this is binnall ... signing off.
