Welcome back, my friends, to yet another edition of the binnall report. This week's edition marks the two year anniversary of the birth of the binnall report. I'm going to save the kudos and thanks until next week, however, as this news just dawned on me earlier this morning and I don't want to leave anyone out in a rushed attempt to acknowledge two years of binnall madness. Aside from that, all is well on planet binnall, albeit stressful as usual.
This week, we look back at spontaneous human combustion on "Ian" and enchanting stories of little people, all in the past week on Coast to Coast AM. We also look ahead to non lethal weapons, deja vu, and the nephilim coming up next week on C2C. We dip into the mailbag for my thoughts on the Bigfoot / UFO connection and Jerome Corsi's amazing run of Coast appearances this year. We look back into the history books for a glimpse at what the first ever binnall report looked like. We preview tomorrow's BoA : Audio, featuring Paul Kimball, including a link to an MP3 preview of the festivities. Plus, as if that's not enough, we take a trip to the Planet of the Noors, only in Hot Newz.
So it's a packed edition and the sooner we get to rockin', the better.
The Week That Was
I'll confess, folks, that this week was one of my more scattershot weeks, as far as following Coast. I managed to catch quite a few episodes, but didn't find too much noteworthy about them, aside from a few dribbles and drabbles here and there.
As we signed off last week, we were awaiting word on the Friday night pop-in. It turned out to be a mix of guests, including Kris and Ed Sherwood to update on flying humanoids and then Alex Jones to talk about the controversial antiterrorism bill that was making big news that day. Joe Vee informed me that Alex was wild as hell, so this one may be worth digging out of the archive if you want to hear some classic Jones. Also glad to see an update on the humanoids.
Saturday on "Ian", Larry Arnold was the guest and the topic was esoterica's classic stalwart, spontaneous human combustion. BoA's senior columnist Khyron covered this episode, in-depth, with his weekly standard, The K-Files. Check it out for an additional perspective on the episode.
Considering that SHC gets precious little coverage in modern day esoteric media, I went out of my way to be sure to catch "Ian" last weekend. Ian was great, with solid questions and a nice sense of humour about the whole thing. Arnold had a plethora of fascinating information, much of it I hadn't heard before. Considering all the stuff I heard about spon com back when I was a kid, it was awesome to get an update, now that I'm elbow deep in the world of esoterica. Additional kudos to Ian for mentioning the infamous case of SHC in Spinal Tap, one of my all tiem favorite films. Excellent episode.
Saturday night on C2C proper, Art Bell had Dr. Stuart Hameroff on the show to talk about consciousness. I was down on this episode last week and, true to form, ended up skipping it. Lesley, thankfully, did catch it and provided a nice recap in her C2C Rewind from The Debris Field, "First hour we got to hear all about the typhoon Art experienced last week. It sounded like something I could do without, not that I need worry about one in NM. Art's guest for the rest of the show was Dr. Stuart Hameroff. The topic was one of Art's obsessions, consciousness or mass consciousness. I didn't get to hear the entire show, but what I heard sounded pretty interesting. I did hear Art mention at the end of the show that he felt it had been a classic c2c episode and the best he had ever done on consciousness, so I may have to listen to the entire thing sometime in the future." Sounds like it was better than I'd expected.
Sunday night on Coast, Art had Roger Tolces on the show to talk about electronic surveillance. I tuned in to hear what Tolces had to say, but was more surprised, and a tad put off, by Art's endless justifying for insane government spying. He kept saying he was playing Devil's Advocate, but it got ridiculous more often than not and even Tolces seemed bewildered and practically snapped towards the end of the 1st hour of the interview. It started out funny at first, but got kind of annoying after a while, as Art kept saying terrorists were out to get us. Puhleeze. Decent episode. Interesting to hear the back and forth between Tolces and Art.
Monday night on Coast, The Noor's guest was Dr. Jim Hardt to talk about biofeedback. I was kind of hurting on Monday, so I bailed out on this one. I didn't hear too much buzz on it, other than that Hardt mentioned a dude named Norbu Wiener and Noory "lost it like a second grader laughing at the word 'wiener'." Thanks to usofe.com's gnosticknowledge for pointing that one out. I'll have to go back and find that gem.
Tuesday, esoteric legend Russel Targ was the guest, talking about remote viewing and his new book "The End of Suffering". The 1st hour with Targ was tremendous. Noory was rocking it out, hardcore, with some great questions about the early days of remote viewing. Targ was giving some great insights, as well, and it seems like no matter how often we hear about those times, we still find out new info every time out.
The remainder of the show, dealing with "The End of Suffering" was decent, but a tad too "tree hugger" for me, despite the fact that I subscribe to much of the mindset that Targ was in favor of. His points were salient and made a lot of sense, but the cynic in me feels that the American people, in general, are too dense to realize that they need a serious mindshift.
Wednesday, the Corsi Counter was fired up once again, as Jerome Corsi stepped into the TBA slot for his 12th appearance this year. This time around, Corsi was talking about Iran. Sadly, the entire thing was a bit of a rehash of the stuff we've heard from Corsi about Iran, only expanded to three hours instead of a pop-in. I listened for about an hour, then bailed after my eyelids started drooping. I'm sure it was fascinating geopolitics, but it was a bit too dry and redundant for my tastes.
Ironically, moments after posting last week's binnall report, someone responded asking me about Corsi and his many C2C appearances this year. So, I'll save my thoughts on that for the binnall report mailbag, but, rest assured, I do have thoughts on Corsi's Hoagland-esque appearance count in '06.
Coast wrapped up the formal week with Ron Quinn discussing little people and interdimensional portals on Thursday's show. Fun episode that dealt with tons of great anecdotes about real sightings of elves and various other anomalous creatures. Noory had some great questions and Quinn was grounded enough to know that nothing's for sure and that all we have are these great stories. Nonetheless, the stories were awesome and the bits of info contained in each one were fascinating. Excellent episode.
Top to bottom, a rather blase week of Coast, with some bright spots, including Saturday's "Ian", Targ on Tuesday, and Thursday's little people episode.
The Week That Is
We kick it off tonight with the standard Friday into Saturday Open Lines. I believe The Noor is in Portland, Oregon for a book signing, so it will be a special Noory on tour. Hopefully, we'll have a special pop in from someone with some local flavour. The usual pre-weekend madness, I'm sure.
Saturday on "Ian", IP has Navy vet Kenneth Sewell on the show to talk about Cold War strategies. Ian plays to his strengths and he's working it here with the alternative history. Expect some interesting revelations of bizarre schenanigans going on under the noses of Americans. Sounds like fun.
Saturday night on C2C proper, Art Bell welcomes psychic Jeffrey Wands to discuss the afterlife and lingering energy. The ramp up to Halloween begins with this one. Good on-paper potential. Sounds like just enough of a twist on the usual stuff to be pretty good.
Sunday on Coast, Art's guest will be Doug Beason to talk about non-lethal weaponry. Meh. To be perfectly honest, it sounds kind of boring. May turn out to be decent, but I wouldn't hold out hope.
Monday, The Noor returns from his latest gig and kicks off the week with ... TBA. Yes, the C2C Gods have shunned "Wildcard Wednesday" in favor of Monday this week. The guest could be anyone, let's just hope they bring in someone solid.
Tuesday on C2C, Jeffrey Epstein is the guest. Terrorism is the topic. Could be interesting, but after Corsi last week, it may feel redundant. Terrorism as a subject has been kind of overdone on Coast lately, so this one may turn out to be eminently skippable.
Wednesday, Noory has Dr. Vernon Neppe on the show to talk about anomalous events like deja vu and stuff like that. If it is a discussion on everyday psychic-type events, I'm all for it. Another dark horse candidate for best of the week.
Thursday, the formal week wraps up with Patrick Heron talking about the nephilim. Heron was on last June, so I'm not sure what new stuff he brings to the table, but he was very entertaining on that appearance. Should be a good to great episode.
So it's a halfway decent week ahead. Nothing to go nuts about, but nothing to bemoan over either.
BoA : Audio
Big thanks to everyone who checked out our Season Premiere last week with Jim Marrs. If you somehow missed it, it's still available in the archives.
This Week : Paul Kimball (Part 1 of 2). Perhaps the most controversial BoA : Audio episode yet, the documentary filmmaker and blogger extraordinaire arrives on BoA : Audio to discuss how he got into following Ufology, his film "Stanton T. Friedman is Real", UFO documentaries, and the problems with exopolitics and Ufology in general. Plus Paul previews his 10.14.2006 New Frontiers Symposium. And, of course, tons more.
His website is redstarfilms.blogspot.com
Next Week : Paul Kimball (Part 2 of 2). More of our discussion on some of the problems with Ufology today. Kimball talks about the "Condon Effect", how to generate interest in Ufology, why Paul doesn't see a "grand conspiracy" behind the UFO phenomenon, Ufology on the Internet, and why more young people aren't gravitating toward studying the UFO phenomenon, a preview of Paul's cattle mutilation film and his next UFO film. Plus, tons more.

Binnall -
Excellent report, as always. One thing I was a little disappointed about - you did not discuss Tuesday's (09/26) first hour guest, the Hoaglandesque - in terms of numerical appearances - Jerome Corsi. He was talking shadow-government stuff, and since I believe you have strong opinions about the subject (and Corsi) I was looking forward to your review of the information. Other than that, enjoyed it as always - thanks for the good work.
- Stone Bryson As noted above, Stone, C2C trumped your question by bringing Corsi back on the show for an 12th appearance. Regarding the subject of the shadow government, I do find the subject intriguing. I think I ended up glossing over or outright skipping Corsi's 9.26 appearance, though.
Re : Corsi's Hoagland-esque string of appearances
I'm dismayed. As you may recall, I explained how RCH's endless appearances hurt his overall guest value. The same may apply for Corsi. What Corsi has going for him is that he has a number of different "specializations", like immigration, oil, and Iran. This multifaceted approach allows him for a multitude of opportunities on the show. So long as he doesn't focus too much on one or the other, he will be in decent shape for a while. Towards this time of year last year, I had a feeling that Corsi was going to get the "Steve Quayle '04" treatment this year and it appears that that is what happened.
I'll be updating BoA's "Corsi Counter" sometime soon to reflect his 12 appearances. He's got a long way to go before reaching RCH's 35 (or more) appearances so far this year.
Letter #2 :
The audio show is excellent. I listened to the entire season 1 in less then a week heheheh. My question is this : Do established "in the know" Cryptozoologists recognize the contribution and research of Joe Fex? And if so, why hasn't Loren Coleman (for example) actually made arrangements to verify any of the statements or research Joe said on the show (the "come on down and see for yourself" statements in particular)?
I know that question is loaded & you are (to all my knowledge) not psychic and cannot answer for your past guests, but I was wondering if you had a clue on that one. Or for that matter, if you believe the statements Joe said on the program about visiting with Sasquatch etc. I am very curious because I have studied the UFO phenomenon for at least 30 years. I entertained research of shamanism & some indian cultures in relation to the "star people" and yeti oral traditions, but didn't go quite as deep into that as I have gone into the correlation between ceremonial magick, UFO's and remote viewing. For some strange reason, I thought the relation between Sasquatch and UFO's was a bunch of hooey for some years, but after listening to Joe Fex, his logic made me question my reasons for thinking the correlation was hogwash.
I mean, studying Enochian magick as it relates to "The Greys" is no less silly and or insane then acknowledging Bigfoot / UFO's have a common thread as well. Your show actually helped me to exorcise a very stupid bias out of my belief system, so for that I gotta thank you and say, keep up the good work. The show is less sensationalist then most others out there, and I prefer the research aspect that your guests seem to have in common.
Regards,
Pariah Nephilim
Thanks for your props re: the audio series. It is a labor of love, that's for sure. I'm just happy other folks out there are digging it as much as I am digging making it.
I didn't "discover" Joe Fex until after we'd had Loren Coleman on BoA : Audio, so I don't know Coleman's stance on Fex or the Carter / Coy case. I'll be sure to ask him if / when we have him back on BoA : Audio. Something tells me he's looked into it and doesn't see much there worth going after, otherwise we'd have heard more about it by now.
Re : overall esoterica
There's probably some kind of spillover between various forms of esoterica and, in that spillover, we may be able to find important clues as to the greater meaning behind it all. That's where people like Joe Fex are doing strong work. Will there ever be a "unified field theory" of the esoteric ? Oh God, I hope so. Be open to everything, but don't leave your mind so open that your brain falls out.

This Week in C2C History
10.8.2004 : For those who think we don't evolve much, here's the entire "The Week That Was" from the inaugural binnall report, which debuted two years ago today : "I'd call it surprising, but, sadly, it is not. Yes, Ed Dames returns to C2C on Saturday for the astounding 4th time this year, all with Art Bell, also not too surprising. (7.17.4 w. Bell, 4.10.4 w. Bell, 2.8.4 w. Bell) What sort of pictures of Bell could he have to possibly warrant this many appearances for a prognosticator ? Predicting long term events every 2-3 months is a recipe for repetition and incorrect predictions.
Despite my outrage w. Coast's choice of guests, and Dames IV notwithstanding, this past week's guests have been exemplary. Mitchell and Robbins lived up to their promise. Mary Ann was surprisingly entertaining. And Peter Lance brought to the table another in a long line of Investigative Journalists who are beginning to connect the dots on the war on terror. Finishing up strong, w. the John Titor expert is a good move and should wrap up the best week for Coast in quite some time 10.6.1999 : Rumours of Art's standing as C2C host have seemingly been around forever, "Art begins by reading a Matt Drudge report which says Phil Hendrie is being groomed to replace Art if Art pulls the plug on his program. Art denies this report and feels the person who started this rumor is back in the Northeast somewhere. You can read this report under News Headlines. " (artbell.com cd rom)
End Notes
With that, we call it quits for another week. Thanks for joining in on the fun. We'll be back, next week, for more hijinks, I assure you.
Plugs : Tomorrow @ binnallofamerica.com, Paul Kimball (Part 1 of 2) on BoA : Audio. Sure to be one of the most discussed episodes of this Season. Sunday, Lesley's C2C Rewind @ The Debris Field and smoker dave is updated. Monday, Ralph Molesworth's Tall Tales. Tuesday, Lesley's Grey Matters. Wednesday, Khyron's The K-Files. Thursday, Hot Newz. And, we do it all again one more time here in the binnall report next Friday.
One more time, you can hear an MP3 preview of the Paul Kimball double shot here : http://www.binnallofamericaaudio.com/mp3s/BOAA202ad.mp3 ** Just right click and then "save target as".
I hope your weekend is filled with apple picking and foliage watching and you join us again here in 7 days time. Until then, this is binnall ... signing off.
