We sit on the eve of a very big weekend in esoterica, and that means it's time for the one and only, the weekly sensation that's gripping the esoteric nation, the tower of power, too sweet to be sour, the esoteric column of the hour, funky like a monkey, ridin' on a lighting bolt, and the pure, condensed written form of stardust, itself ... the binnall report.
Yes, my friends, we are back with yet another edition of "tbr". This week, we've got full coverage of the upcoming week on C2C, a brief look ahead to next week's Coast episodes, This Week in C2C History, binnall report mailbag, and, in Hot Newz, Noory and RCH try out for "American Idol".
Meanwhile, we've got two superhuge announcements in this week's "binnall report". First, under the banner of "Don't Call it a Comeback", I reveal just what I was working on over New Year's weekend that was kept so secret. Then, in "BoA : Audio, Season One", I reveal who will be the guest tomorrow night when we kick off the second half of the critically acclaimed internet audio series. Those sections can be found directly under "The Week That Is". I hope they live up to expectations.
It should also be noted that we'll have a new, fresh look for binnallofamerica.com on Saturday to honor the return of BoA : Audio. A little tinkering here and there and you'll see a different BoA than you've come to expect the last 6 months. That will be uploaded on Saturday when we roll out the new audio.
Enough hype, let's get down to our weekly look at Coast ...
The Week That Was
We left off last week with The Noor about to embark on the adventure of a lifetime, Friday the 13th Open Lines. But before he could yak with the yokels, he had Dr. Sky and Richard C. Hoagland on to talk about Project Stardust. I am soooo bored with these NASA "missions". Despite being keeper of Hoags to Hoags AM, I actually skipped this one. I'm sure it would pale in comparison to RCH's appearance later on in the week.
Then came Saturday with Ian Punnett. IP's guest was Tracy Twyman, talking about "money mysteries". Despite the hype, this was your general "hidden symbols on the dollar bill" episode. It was amusing in that Ian seemed to think he had this great repoire with Twyman, but it was more like running into someone you knew in high school and they've moved on, but you still think you're "best friends".
Twyman's stuff was good, but it was hardly revolutionary. I'll give her credit, in that Ian seemed to think she came up with this stuff herself, but she'd correct him and cite her sources over and over again. Interesting episode, especially the first hour or so of the interview, which did have some new nuggets I'd not heard about before. The latter half of the interview kind of dragged, though.
Sunday was a replay of a classic Art Bell episode from 6.5.2001 where Art interviewed Robert Morgan, a 'Foot hunter I've never heard of, who also had some dude who claimed to have shot a Bigfoot. I have this episode waiting in my MP3 player as I'm hoping for the time to hear this madness.
Monday, The Noor had Stan and Holly Deyo on to talk about disaster preparedness. I tried listening to this and it was awfully boring. I was losing it by the second hour of the interview. I may have missed something awesome at the end, but I highly doubt it.
Tuesday, James McCanney was on to wax poetic about Project Stardust and his anti-dirty snowball comet theory. Pretty good stuff from McCanney. His space science is so far beyond what I know that it sounds reasonable. Unlike ... say ... Richard C. Hoagland, who managed to call in to allege that NASA switched the Stardust capsules on the ground to perpetuate their cover up of space secrets. That, Ladies and Gentlemen, is why I love Richard C. Hoagland. Pretty good episode if you haven't heard McCanney before or particularly like his stuff. Great episode for the wild Hoagland sighting.
Wednesday, the gravel voiced infowarrior himself Alex Jones stopped by to hold court with The Noor. Excellent episode. Alex figured out what Hoagland forgot : that moderation of appearances increases their value. Alex and Noory have awesome chemistry now and I loved when Noory started spouting off about the Middle East, saying that he was some kind of expert on the area. It sounded like two dudes who've been up all night pontificating about life. Also, I nearly did a spit take when some caller managed to get the "R Word" (Rense) on the air.
And, we rounded out the week with Ryan Wood on Thursday talking about his new book on "Crash Retrievals". I think it is fair to call Wood the "high priest of crash retrievals" now. Nice stuff, including some good discussion on the "top crashes" and how Wood evaluated them. Great episode for Ufology fans, so that's a plus.
Good to great week, full of strong guests. I would have liked more advance warning on the guests, but something is amiss in that regard as we look ahead to next week and see ... not much.
The Week That Is
For some strange reason, C2C has not released next week's guests for the second week in a row. I'll have my spies look into what the story is with this turn of events. Tis rather disappointing, as it really cuts down on "the binnall report".
I do know of two things upcoming this week, so let's discuss those.
Tonight, Linda Moulton Howe returns to C2C for a Friday night pop-in, talking about a 1947 UFO crash. Should be interesting. Standard open lines follows.
And, Sunday night, Art Bell returns to the show following the sad loss of his beloved wife Ramona. From what I understand, Noory made it sound like Bell would be appearing and then making some sort of announcement and many seem to think it is the beginning of an extended period of time off for Art.
I won't speculate too much on what Art may say. I'll just say that I'm anxiously awaiting his appearance and pontificating on just where things may be headed. This may be one of the most anticipated C2C episodes I can recall, but for all the wrong reasons. I hope Art is feeling better and can handle coming back so soon. If I were a betting man, I'd say that we won't be hearing from Art after Sunday for at least 6 months. Just my thoughts.
And that is all I can write about for "The Week That Is", as C2C didn't release any guest lineup for next week. As I said earlier, I'll have my spies find out what the story is. I'm hoping it is not an affront to "the binnall report", but stranger things have happened, so we'll never really know.
Don't Call it a Comeback
I've been given the greenlight to announce, so here goes ...
I am very happy to announce to everyone that the insane genius behind binnallofamerica.com, yours truly, will be making his triumphant return to the pages of Coast to Coast AM's magazine "After Dark" with next month's February issue.
In an article titled, "Chasing Disclosure", I discuss the various thoughts of the many Ufologists I've spoken to with regards to Disclosure. The article features quotes, culled from BoA : Audio episodes, from Stanton Friedman, Jim Marrs, Grant Cameron, Greg Bishop, Michael Salla, and Terry Hansen. It also includes all new quotes from Greg Bishop and Steve Bassett who contacted me for the express purpose of the article.
Also, of note to extreme binnall collectors, I spell the word "rumor" the correct way as opposed to my more familiar way of spelling it ("rumour"), so I suppose it is sort of a collector's item for those of you obsessed with grammar.
So there you have it, folks. I'm extremely proud of this new piece and I'd love to hear from those of you who get After Dark to hear what you thought of it. I'm sure that there will be more articles forthcoming for AD, as I'm in negotiations now for another piece for a future edition of the magazine.
Thanks for your help and support, folks. I promised 2006 would be bigger and better than ever and this is just the start.
binnall of america : audio, Season One
This Week : Melinda Leslie (Part 1 of 2). Melinda Leslie has spent the last 12 years investigating the abduction phenomenon and the strange cases of clandestine harassment and re-abduction of abductees by "black ops" type forces. This is a fascinating area of critical research that is growing and Melinda Leslie is at the forefront of it all.
In our first installment, airing tomorrow, we discuss her background and how she evolved from interested party to activist / researcher. We cover the basic thesis of "Military Abductions (MILABs)" and how we can use them to figure out what those "behind the scenes" may know about the UFO phenomenon. Plus lots more in-depth discussion on the MILAB phenomenon.
Next Week : Melinda Leslie (Part 2 of 2). More with the mistress of MILABs. Including thorough coverage of "minders", those spooky dudes from the government who tend to glom onto abductees. Also, what other researchers say about her work, disclosure, "Stepford Abductees", women in Ufology, and much much more.

Yes ! We have a listener in the UK ! Rock on. All the best, Stephen P Dodson of the UK. Hope you enjoy the return of BoA : Audio tomorrow.
Letter #2
Tim,
Why do you hate Ian Punnett ?
Steve in Los Angeles, CA
I don't hate Ian Punnett. Did he say that ? That plucky little bastard.
In all honesty, I'm not sure Punnett even knows I exist, despite the fact that he has taken on the role of "pesky little brother" @ BoA. Some have suggested that I contact Punnett, but I'm waiting for him to make the first move. I liken it to the old MAD magazine "Spy v. Spy" comics.

This Week in C2C History
1.20.2004 : The Noor welcomed Charles R. Smith to talk about exotic technology. Smith couldn't help himself but beat the war drum against China, a mindset that has grown on C2C over the last few years, "Don't just think of China "as an agrarian Communist state," Smith commented. It's actually a very capable modern state which is under a totalitarian rule. As opposed to the US's military strategies which Smith dubbed "McWar," China thinks in longer terms, and may for instance make a move on Taiwan in the 2008-2010 time frame, he ventured." (C2C main site)
1.20.2003 : Some spooky stuff from Dr. Joyce Riley who was sounding the alarms about the Gulf War to The Noor ... you know the one that is still going on today ... "She believes GWI is a communicable disease, with not only spouses and children in families of veterans coming down with symptoms, but their pets as well. Riley, an impassioned speaker, is a nurse who served as a captain in the Gulf War. "We're looking at an astronomical figure," Riley said estimating that as many as 400,000 veterans have some symptoms of GWI." (C2C main site)
1.20.1998 : Some stuff from 8 years ago, showing the classic side of the old Art Bell show ... "Carol from Seminole, Florida tells Art she called her husband in Las Vegas and received this info. Also her husband walks the strip nightly and the people he says he sees are sub-human looking and walk funny. Art says this is just the people of Las Vegas. She said they resemble the Grey species of aliens. Area 51.... There is going to be a people's rally at area 51 on June 6th at the restricted property line. It is a legal public assembly. Art isn't sure how he feels about this. He feels the government does have a right to a place where they do secret stuff." (artbell.com cd rom)
