1.13.6

Bulla bulla, kids, it's time once again for your weekly dose of esoteric madness known to one and all as "the binnall report". It's been a trying week for yours truly as I went to war with bugs @ theusofe.com and managed to exterminate them so all the great posters there could return. It got ugly, but I'm happy to say the denizens of theusofe.com are back and brimming with opinions once again. If you haven't checked out our little neck of the woods, I suggest you do so : www.theusofe.com. Anyway, so I spent a lot of the week doing that and prepping for this weekend's round of interviews for BoA : Audio.

Soon ... very soon ... I will reveal the big project I was working on over New Year's weekend. Perhaps as soon as next week's "binnall report". Trust me, it's a doozy.

But before all that goes down, we gotta do the bidness of this week's "tbr". We look back at a wild week on Coast that included a knock down drag out affair known as the C2C Oil Debate. We have an abbreviated look at next week on Coast, binnall report mailbag, some teasers on the return of BoA : Audio, Season One, This Week in C2C History, and, of course, Hot Newz, where we find out Noory's original plans for pay per view.

Sit back, relax, let's do this.

The Week That Was

We left off last week to the sound of fog horns and whistles, as the 2006 Quayle Watch began. Yes, our old friend Steve Quayle returned to C2C for two hours of the Friday night episode. Quayle was ranting and raving about terrorism, as opposed to his usual talk of giants. Quayle was pretty good and I always enjoy his feisty response to those who claim he is "crying wolf". Standard Open Lines followed for the rest of the show.

Saturday, Ian Punnett returned from his two week hiatus to resume discussion with Peter Lance, the first hour pop-in on the last episode IP had hosted in December. I tried giving Lance a chance, seriously I did. I listened to the first two hours of his interview. Now ... who would I talk to about getting those two hours back ?

Lance, to put it bluntly, rambled like a confused child. It took him literally two hours to tell a convoluted story involving the mafia, terrorists, and TWA Flight 800. And I think that was all in response to an off-the-cuff question from Punnett at the start of the show. It was painful, but I stuck with it, thinking he had a point. Boy, was I mistaken. Lance wasn't as obnoxious as he usually is, but still felt the need to pat himself on the back endlessly and his storytelling style of "Six Degrees of Peter Lance" is just brutal. His side tangents were long and painful and, in the end, it felt more like an exercise in tedium than an interesting interview. Enlightening at times, but, in the end, just plain awful.

Sunday featured a replay of a classic Art Bell episode from 11.17.1997 where Art interviewed David Adair. I missed this one, but downloaded it for future listening. I didn't hear too much raving about it, though.

Monday, The Noor was back in action with Dr. Michael Shermer, the ultimate skeptic. Despite my loathing of all things skeptical, Shermer was pretty interesting. I still find the confines of science to be far too rigid to handle the world of the paranormal, but I respected Shermer's right to be skeptical. It was a nice change of pace for Coast. Also, Noory impersonated a little girl at one point and that had me in stitches for days.

Tuesday was an excellent episode featuring Colm Kelleher and George Knapp talking about their book "Hunt for the Skinwalker" and the NIDS ranch. Having read the book and heard these guys on Rense about a month ago, there wasn't too much new stuff on the show that I'd not heard already. That said, it was nice to relive some of the stories from the ranch that I'd read in the book. The response from the folks who'd not read the book yet was that the episode was awesome, so there you have it.

Wednesday was the throwaway episode of the week, with Jose Escamilla on to talk about Rods. Noory and company already cut Escamilla's time from the full episode to a mere two hour interview, but you won't hear any complaints from me. I'm just not a Rods fan and so I only listened to the first part of the interview. I did enjoy Jose's complaints about the debunker show and how they railroaded him. The rest of the show was devoted to Open Lines, so Noory could fret about Iran.

Finally, we rounded out the Week That Was with the C2C Oil Debate, between Michael Ruppert and Jerome Corsi. And what a debate it was. Damn, this one was a battle. Ruppert came out swinging, including the hilarious move of pointing out all the typos in Corsi's book and having a side debate over the true location of Argentina (Central America or South America ?) Everytime Corsi made a decent point, Ruppert would come back with a few more decent points in a far more aggressive manner. I think somewhere in the middle of hour 3, I lost a tooth just from listening to his hellacious war. Easily the best debate since the UFO Debate of 2004.

In the end, Corsi won the debate 62% to 38% for Ruppert. Despite his aggresive nature, Ruppert was humble in defeat. I think two things worked against Ruppert in this debate. First, his overly aggresive style probably turned off many of C2C "new age" (read : beatnik) listeners. Also, the C2C trend has been towards abiotic oil since late '05. Sure, Art Bell had a handful of "peak oil" episodes early in 2005, but Noory fired back with about three episodes on "abiotic oil" in the latter half of '05, so the C2C audience was probably swayed towards abiotic oil based on that. Plus, one of those abiotic oil episodes featured C2C favorite Alex Jones, to whom Corsi probably owes some of the credit for winning the debate. Nonetheless, fantastic episode.

The Week That Is

I wish I could prat on endlessly about this week's upcoming C2C episodes, but, oddly enough, the C2C website only has info the show up until Monday. Hmm. More evidence of a conspiracy against "the binnall report" ? I'm not sure ... yet.

Tonight, it's a night that Open Lines were made for, Friday the 13th Open Lines. I'm sure The Noor will be giddy with excitement. Could produce some decent stuff. I'm hoping for an RCH pop-in or, at the very least, a JC or "Oscar" pop-in to spice things up. No word on who the first hour guest will be yet.

Saturday, Ian Punnett has a whole lot of monkey business with Tracy Twyman, talking about money mysteries. Shades of the incredible Andre Eggelletion ? I hope so. Could be fascinating, but it could also be tedious. It does sound like a good Punnett topic, so we'll see where he takes us.

Sunday, it's a replay of a classic Art Bell from 6.5.2001 with Robert Morgan talking about Bigfoot. Sounds interesting. I'm not familiar with Morgan's stuff, but I've not heard Art talk about Bigfoot much so it should be interesting.

Monday, Stan and Holly Deyo join The Noor to talk about surviving disasters. That is their strong area of discussion, so I expect good stuff there as well.

And ... that's it. No word on the Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday guests yet. Ugh. I won't even speculate, but I'd like to see Jordan Maxwell appear again and end my whining that he's never on the show.

binnall of america : audio, Season One

Next week ... 1.21.2006 ... BoA : Audio, Season One returns. I shant name a guest just yet, but know that I am taping two interviews this weekend and have about 5 others lined up for the next two or three weeks. They are a bevy of big names in esoterica and also some less publicized folks who are producing some amazing stuff.

Key to note is that some of these folks are people I have been wanting to interview for months, if not years. In the meantime, I've heard tons of interviews with them, so I'm not going to be going over your "standard fare" unless it has the decidedly different binnall twist to it.

So, unless something goes horribly wrong this weekend, next week, we return with BoA : Audio. Guest will be announced probably mid-week @ BoA.

Letter #1

binnall,

What do you do when you are not working on BoA ?

Brian in Providence, RI

Good question, Brian. The answer is : not much. Seriously, though, I spend time following professional wrestling, baseball, reading non-esoteric books, and watching trashy television reality shows like "VH1's Celebrity Fit Club 3" and "E's The Girls Next Door". If it has a C-level celebrity doing something stupid and it is billed as "reality", I'm there. Otherwise, I don't do much. BoA leaves me with precious little time and almost no time in large chunks. So, I use my "spare time" to delight my interest in the everyday adventures of buxom Playboy playmates or fat celebrities.

Letter #2

Tim,

Did you get any good stuff for Christmas ?

Phil in Rochester, NY

A few nice things. A new desk and hard drive case for the BoA offices. I also got a swank new bookshelf that can hold my ever growing library of esoteric books. In addition to that, I got a few DVD sets and a few new esoteric books, "Hunt for the Skinwalker", "UFOs and the National Security State" and "The Threat". And I also got another hamster, dubbed Peanut.

This Week in C2C History

1.13.2005 : Last year, William Thomas joined The Noor to talk about the dangers of cell phones and just about everything else : "Using a headset doesn't alleviate the problem as the cord acts as an antenna which still irradiates the user, he said. Additionally, portable home phones that operate in the gigahertz range (2.4 – 5.6) are also a health risk, Thomas stated. He also discussed chemtrails, which he believes the government is secretly spraying in the skies, as part of a weather modification problem to combat global warming." (C2C website)

1.13.2003 : The Noor welcomed Dr. Roger Leir to talk about alien implants, including Leir's insightful ideas on just what the implants may be all about : "The ultimate purpose of the implants is not to track the location of abductees but to monitor genetic changes that the aliens may be inducing, Leir believes. He cites as evidence for this documented increases in human abilities that have been occurring over time culminating in the birth of "Indigo Children," in the last two decades." (C2C website)

1.13.1999 : Art Bell delighted his listeners with weird trivia : "Art reads off some trivia, which he considers are some of the things you have been dying to know. Such as banging your head against the wall uses up 150 calories an hour, and no one can sneeze with their eyes open. Art can't get over the fact that a pigs orgasm lasts 30 minutes and a lion sometimes mates up to 50 times a day. " (artbell.com cd rom)
