As reported here a few weeks ago, this past Sunday's Oscars saw the debut of an award aimed at specifically honoring esoteric films. And while it looked to be a close race, between "Multiplicity 2" and "My Cousin Noory", Oscar voters shocked the world by giving the award to "Under Seige 3" starring George Noory !

Unfortunately, but not surprising, the actual presentation of the award came during Saturday's festivities, which no one but weirdos and techies attend. Thankfully, though, that demographic also includes Noory's friend Gary Busey, who led a standing ovation when Noory was announced as winner.

My sources indicate that the Noor thanked "all of the little people ... and by that I mean the greys." The joke was met with a smattering of chuckles from the audience.

It was not all fun and games, however, as Richard C. Hoagland, still reeling from the Oscar snub for his film "I Now Pronounce You George and Hoagie", stormed the stage during a non-televised portion of Sunday's show.

His Hoaginess spent about 2 minutes lecturing the audience for their ignorance of hyperdimensional physics, ranting about the potential dangers of a Martian Bigfoot invasion, and plugging his "God, Man, and ET" DVD set.

After being dragged off the stage and beaten by security, the still-hurting RCH found solace at the many post-Oscar parties.

By the end of the night, his mood had improved, slightly, after being consoled by Sir Elton John, who called him "an American esoteric treasure".
