Theater afficianados in Canada are abuzz over the premiere of the new Paul Kimball / Mac Tonnies collaboration known as "Doing Time". But what many of them don't know is that "Doing Time" is actually the second theatrical attempt from the "Hall and Oates" of the paranormal world.

You see, originally the dynamic duo of blogging had planned on starring in their own interpretation of the Neil Simon classic "Odd Couple" ... with an esoteric twist.

The plot was rather simple : Esoteric writer / futurist Felix Tonnies, who is a bit of a neat freak, is thrown out of his house by his wife, Liona Tanaka-Tonnies, and forced to move in with his friend, esoteric filmmaker Oscar Kimball, who is rather slovenly. Hilarity ensues as they debate both esoterica and living arrangements, arguing over the origins of the Pyramids and who ate the last can of Chef Boyardee (Spoiler : It was Kimball).

Sadly, Canadian Secretary of Plays and Theater, Pokey Bellhorne, stepped in and put a stop to "The Esoteric Odd Couple", as he was afraid that the play would offend the sensibilities of the delicate Canadian audience.

Kimball and Tonnies quickly got to work on a more original piece and, thusly, came up with their new production, "Doing Time", whose title is taken from Mac's description of what it was like to work with Paul.

"Doing Time" began its run last night and rolls on throughout the weekend. Best of luck to the cast and crew !!
