Apparently, after an ill-fated attempt at oneupsmanship resulted in Sean David Morton renting a vintage British aristrocrat outfit for $5,000, the gang decided that perhaps it would be best to co-ordinate their costumes the following year in order to maximize the effect.

After shooting down going as Ghostbusters ("Who'd be Winston ?"), finding Power Ranger suits to be too "form fitting", and almost deciding on being the Spice Girls, they finally settled on something they could all agree on : the Teletubbies.
