6.6.5

Oooh, spooky title. Yes, it's "News Watch". I can say, without lies or hyperbole, that this is the most power packed edition of NW in quite some time. We've got all the mainstream media's idea of what a "big mystery" is, NASA's new Mars mission, wacky firemen antics, a Canadian sex killer, the 2 Tenors, What to expect in the future from Cell Phones, perhaps the final Jackson Schmackson, and a double editorial on, first, medical marijuana, and, second, Deep Throat.

So sit back as we kick it up a notch :

Hot 5 Stories of the Week

1>After 'Deep Throat,' what mysteries remain? (Reuters via myway.com)

http://reuters.myway.com/article/20050602/2005-06-02T151925Z_01_N01603434_RTRIDST_0_ODD-DEEPTHROAT-MYSTERIES-DC.html

I always find the "mainstream" opinion on various mysteries, so now that the "Deep Throat" mystery is solved, they turn their attention to some other "phenomenon". Such as ... What was on the missing portion of the Nixon Tapes (mildly interesting), Who identified CIA operative Valerie Plame (who cares), and Who murdered Chandra Levy (potentially interesting).

It then turns towards the obvious and stuff we expect to see on C2C any day now ... JFK Assassination, Jimmy Hoffa's disappearance, Amelia Earhart, and D.B. Cooper. That last of them, Mr. Cooper, should definitely get a C2C episode, as it's a story not told very often and worthy of some discussion.

I should point out the low quality of this article in general and that it is worthy of a high school newspaper, at best.

Now that "Deep Throat" has been identified as a 91-year-old California grandfather, aficionados of unsolved mysteries have to look elsewhere. Luckily for them, there are plenty of places to look.

2>NASA: Phoenix Mars launch in 2007 (AP via CNN.com)

http://www.cnn.com/2005/TECH/space/06/03/phoenix.mars.ap/index.html

Seriously, how can I find fault with NASA's plan for the Phoenix Mars Project ? Okay, I'll tell you. It costs $386 million. It will use a little scooper to pick up some ice and dirt and analyze it. I'm not impressed.

Now, I'm no math genius, but I'd wager to guess we could put a man on Mars for $500 million. Make it a reality show and you could probably bring the price down to $425. Why are we sending Rosie the Robot to pick up the dirt when we can send a real live person there to check it out. I'll tell you why ... Martians. You do the math.

NASA is moving ahead with plans to put a long-armed lander on Mars' icy north pole to search for clues for water and possible signs of life, the space agency said Thursday.

The $386 million Phoenix Mars is scheduled to touch down in the Martian arctic in May 2008. The stationary probe will use its robotic arm to dig into the icy terrain and scoop up soil samples to analyze. In 2002, the Mars Odyssey orbiter spotted evidence of ice-rich soil near the arctic surface.

3>Canadian sex killer fights restrictions (Reuters via CNN)

http://www.cnn.com/2005/LAW/06/02/sex.slayings.reut/index.html

With a headline like that, one expects to see a grizzly looking nutcase who would carve up prostitutes like they were Easter hams. But ... no. We get Karla Homolka. Her and her husband lured some teenage girls into their house and tortured and killed them. Yikes. They also videotaped it. The police copped a plea with Karla and then found the tapes ... doh ! So now she is going to get out of jail after 12 years and Canadians have begun locking their doors at night.

For those of you who don't like the link, here's a snapshot of Ms.Homolka in 1993 via CNN :

She looks saucy.

35-year-old Karla Homolka will complete her prison sentence in a few weeks for the torture and killing of two schoolgirls. ...

The case of Bernardo and Homolka -- a young, attractive, suburban couple who ran a house of horrors in the quiet Ontario town of St. Catharines -- stunned Canada in the early 1990s. The couple became the nation's most reviled criminals.

4>8 Firefighters Suspended For Fire Pole Incident (ksat.com via badjocks.com)

http://www.ksat.com/news/4559180/detail.html

I almost lost it once I saw the title. Another edition of when stupid people do stupid things. We all assume that there are drunken frat party antics in the Fire Departments of these small podunk towns that have only 1 fire per year. Now we have the proof.

Grace Estrada, 30, a USAA employee, said some off-duty firefighters invited her and several other women to Fire Station No. 10 for a late-night party last October.

Estrada, who is suing the City of San Antonio, said she hurt her back after a firefighter asked her to climb on his shoulders so they could slide down a fire pole together.

According to the lawsuit, Estrada lost her grip and fell about 12 feet to a tile floor.

5>2 Tenors Sing Without Pavarotti in Mexico (AP via abcnews.go.com) http://abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/wireStory?id=822176

Tis a sad day for all of us who love singing fat men. Luciano Pavarotti, or as 3T groupies call him "the funny one", was forced to pull out of a big concert in Mexico. And, what's even worse, Pavarotti has laryngitis. How sad for the singing giant. Sadly, 3T is starting to resemble Spinal Tap, as based on this description of the concert :

The concert, which began 45 minutes late, was interrupted at times by people who were left without chairs and shouted in unison "Fraud! Fraud!"

DoCoMo's next big move: Phones that double as credit cards (business week via Infowars.com)

http://www.infowars.com/articles/cashless/cellphone.htm

This disgusts me to no end. Firstly, I own a cell phone but never use it. I'm fortunate enough to have, somehow, missed out on this obsession with cell phones when it sprung up at the beginning of the decade, but now it looks like I may be out of luck soon. This brings me to an idea to ponder ... considering both the American people's probable reluctance to "the chip" and the dependence on their cell phones for just about everything, doesn't that make "chipping" the population pretty easy ? Just put the chip in the phone, people rarely leave the house without it.

Now, Japanese carrier NTT DoCoMo Inc. (DCM ) wants to entrench the once-humble cell phone even deeper into consumer lifestyles by turning it into an electronic wallet. After introducing handsets last year that double as debit cards -- allowing users to pay for small purchases such as soda or coffee from vending machines and convenience stores -- the company this year plans to make those phones full-fledged credit cards.

Jackson Schmackson

Jackson Schmackson

This is it ! The jury is deliberating and we, the world and the News Watch / Jackson Schmackson audience, anxiously await to hear the verdict. Will Jackson moonwalk free ? Will he be sent somewhere where he'll be the one being molested ? Will he furtively fly out of the country sometime overnight and disappear ala D.B. Cooper ? Who knows, but we will find out ... this week ... sometime.

The good news for those of you who enjoyed the OJ Trial Verdict, we will be allowed to listen to the verdict. I can't wait to hear Greta Van Sundern dissect the girlish screams to determine if it was Latoya, Janet, or Michael.

Not much to say about the finale of the trial itself, except that many pundits said that the final view of the accusor's video was moving and may be the final sway needed to take Jacko down.

I fully expect this to be the final Jackson Schmackson, because I doubt the jury will deliberate more than a week after sitting through this trial for 14 weeks already. 14 weeks ... where have they gone ? I'll always remember the day Jackson showed up in his pajamas. Or when his ex-wife said he was a good dad. What ever happened to Corey Feldman, who was supposed to testify ? Good to see Macaulay Culkin isn't dead yet. Boy, Jay Leno's testimony warranted the coverage it got.

And now ... after 14 weeks ... the final Jackson Scale ...

The Jackson Scale : 66 (Last Week : 70)

Comment : After all that, I'd say there's a decent chance we'll see Jackson go to jail. That said, don't be surprised to see a hung jury either.

A scale of 1 to 100, with 100 being nearly certain, I will deduce the odds of Jackson being found guilty and going to jail. This is not an opinion of his guilt, just a barometer of the potential outcome of the trial.

Medical Marijuana Up in Smoke ?

Just as I was to write a stinging retort to the news that "Deep Throat" was revealed this week, I checked CNN.com for a quote I'd seen and lo and behold, I see that the vaunted Supreme Court has now outlawed medical marijuana. I am speechless. But not speechless enough to not write a withering retort to this news, leaving poor Mark Felt back in the shadows from whence he came last week.

Let's start with the obvious. This mandate comes directly from the pharmaceutical companies who will do anything it takes to stop medical marijuana from being implemented. That is, until they have their own farms in place and can start rolling out "product". Until that happens, they stand nothing to gain by allowing this to happen and, thusly, pressure whoever it takes to put a stop to the legal use of marijuana for medical purposes.

This is a huge blow for states rights, considering that 10 states had adopted the medical marijuana cause and now are left going back to the drawing board. Another small step, on the totalitarian tip toe (credit : David Icke) towards the new world order and overall "global" laws. On a side note, and one I am sure I will be quoting months from now, binnall prediction : Expect to see a "global tax" to the UN implemented before the end of 2006, probably going towards oil / gas. This comes from a host of sources, most notably the fine folks who infiltrate the Bilderburger meetigns and come out with amazing stuff.

Now, back to the topic at hand, medical marijuana. I'm reminded of the classic Simpsons episode when Homer is prescribed medical marijuana, a must-see for anyone who has a funny bone.

The base truth of it all is that marijuana helps sick people, nothing more, nothing less. I can hear the negative nancies saying now, "But there's pills that can help ease the suffering of those people." To which I remind them of the many stories so far this past year of drugs being taken off the market because they cause dangerous side effects. Why would anyone who is sick want to trust the drug companies and their "magic pills" when there is a simple plant that can be grown that will ease their pain ?

A sad day in America when people who are sick are denied help because of backwards thinking and greed. Reminds me of the entire stem cell debate and how they never discuss how there are stem cells in placentas, which are thrown away in normal births as it is. People listen to the talking head doctors who just tell them what they want to tell them and then shape their opinions of what is going on in the world of health. Noory is right, folks, no flu shots this winter.

Sidenote Thoughts on "Deep Throat"

I can't quite go away yet without a minor discussion on Mark Felt, the 91 year old former FBI guy who was proclaimed as "Deep Throat" last week. One thing, more than anything else, stood out to me as most interesting about the story and that was the disclosure process. It began as a rumour, then confirmed by principal sources, then it was digested, hyped, and dissected by everyone.

It gave me an eerie feeling of knowing what it might be like to find out about some of our other "big secrets". No, not the half baked ones that I mocked in "Hot Story #1", but the big "Big Secret". The aliens, baby, the aliens.

I think the ET disclosure will happen somewhat like the "Deep Throat" disclosure. First either a death bed confession or some "incident" occurring somewhere far from America (India, China, or perhaps Egypt) that will, most likely, be planned in advance. Shadowy rumour will get picked up by the mainstream, much to our shock. Then the rumour will be confirmed officially somehow. Add the hype, digestion, and dissection and we have ET disclosure. Of course, this would all only happen if the "powers that be" had some means to gain from the Disclosure. Until that happens, we ain't getting alien number one, folks.

The other amusing quote, which sent me to CNN.com in the first place and caused my earlier tirade about medical marijuana, was this one from Donald Rumsfeld (garnered @ CNN.com, of course) :

"I think that anytime wrongdoing occurs, it's important that that wrongdoing be reported. And I think that's appropriate. Now, who one reports that to -- the authorities -- is one thing or somebody else is another. But I'm not knowledgeable enough to be in a position to judge it," Rumsfeld said.

But he stressed that current government officials should report wrongdoing to the proper authorities.

"Anyone who sees wrongdoing who works for the United States government has an obligation to report that wrongdoing to the Department of Justice or to the proper authorities in the department. That is -- I wouldn't want to leave any ambiguity about that," he said.

I find that stunningly hilarious. Felt had no option but to go to the media, who were shockingly willing to help him out. In this day and age, the media is so prostituted, you'd have better luck shouting your whistleblowing secrets out the window if you wanted anyone hearing your story. What CNN.com probably forgot to include would be the end result of Mr. Rumsfeld's quote, which would be a quick elimination at the hands of shadowy folks who'd rather you not mention the illicit affairs you have seen while working for the government.

Meanwhile, I've also heard others say that Nixon was Kennedy-esque in his dislike of impending globalization and cite his anti-Bohemian Grove quote with much zeal. They say this is another step in the vilification of Nixon and reinforces that a "good coup de tat" happened in those hazy days of Summer. I've not given it too much investigation, but this point of view may have some merit and may bear out over time.

End Notes

And now I wait to see the fate of Michael Jackson play out in all it's 24 hour media glory. Tearful press conferences, talking head punditry, lawyers arguing over stuff I don't care about, it's all gonna happen. I can't wait. Here's to hoping that Michael Jackson leaves the country somehow to avoid extradition and this saga will continue for ages. That or the first big mainstream interview with Jackson from his jail cell after he's been there for like 5 years. Yikes, that's gonna be creepy.

But until there, there are a lot more News Watches coming, so stay tuned for more fun and madness next week. Plugs for my stuff : theusofe.com message board is back up and running after our weekend hijinks. Please go to www.theusofe.com to access the board. There's an awesome "Grey Matters" coming tomorrow, which I think everyone will enjoy. Also, Khyron has really come into his own with "ghost files", so if you are not reading that, you're missing out big time. This week's "Hot Newz" sees George Noory take up an '80's classic as Summer 2005 continues. binnall report on Friday and Part 2 of the X-Conference Press Conference @ the NPC on Saturday. binnallofamerica.com ... serving all your creepy esoteric needs.

Until I run nude throughout the headlines once again, be safe, be prepared, and be real.
