BoA’s Summer of Strangeness welcomes ‘Historian of the Strange‘ Robert Schneck for a conversation about his latest research into bizarre accounts from the past including weird deaths, odd crimes, and curious incidents that defy description. We begin by talking about how Robert wound up becoming the Historian of the Strange and his experiences working with local archivists in uncovering details of weird small town events. We then spend a considerable amount of time discussing his research into accidental autoerotic asphyxiation deaths, specifically how these then-mysterious events were ‘explained’ by baffled authorities who offered all manner of elaborate and strange scenarios to account for what had occurred. And we wrap up the program with some talk about serial killers, Bigfoot, and paranormal conferences. Altogther it’s a fun and informative conversation covering topics you’re unlikely to hear explored on very many paranormal podcasts.
